If I leave a review it's either because it's a really good experience or a really bad experience and unfortunately it was not good . I used to love going to Panera going back approximately 10 years ago but recently with in the last couple years I have noticed the quality of the food and service has gotten to the point I don't want to even go anymore. Because I live in the middle of three different Panera's I tried to mix them up. The one in Mount Olive is horrible , I went there and the computers were acting up , or some thing and I was charged three times for my one order that was a huge catastrophe that sucked. The woman I dealt with was very rude and acted as if I was a burden and it was my fault. Yes it was fixed but after an attitude, not to mention it was a manager that this happened with. The one in Ledgewood has a few rude employees, but also a few good ones. The food comes out so sloppy looks sloppy always missing some thing very disappointed .The portions look small as if Panera is getting cheap with their portions or the employees are not making it correctly!!!! Worst Panera. Every time I order somehow they mess up my order. Then when I call their response is to come in and tell a manager next time and they will take care of it. I have gone in and tried this. Nothing ever happens. There needs to be better accountability or way to keep track of this. I'm not a big fan of Panera bread, though it was nice to see the employees seem to enjoy working there. The food is pretty good yet a little pricey. The sandwiches feel pretty standard. The bakery is where this franchise really shines. Bagels are always fresh and the smoothies aren't bad either. I'd stay away from their breakfast sandwiches or something in that cheese reminds me of cardboard, other than that I couldn't recommend this place highly enough read more

A big Panera fan but this location is horrible. The older lady that took my order should not be in customer facing service environments. . She's unfriendly even though her name tag says she's ad associate trainer. Now it's understandable why the service here is bad. I came at 830am and they had two cold soufflés left. When asked when the next batch will be ready I was told 30mins. What the heck? This is a top seller in the morning and they cannot forecast correct order volumes in order to have enough on hand. A joke. And the hot water for tea was tepid. I could not even steep a decent cup of tea because of the luke warm water. The best Panera IMO is on route 10 in Denville. I come here every week. The salads are healthy and you can order them with special items with no problems. The bread is awesome. Service is very good, especially the cashiers. Occasionally the order is not right to my specs and that is why they don't get five stars. The soups are good too especially the black bean. But it is crowded and busy place, so my advice is to take it to go. Asian Chicken Salad is tasty and inexpensive and the caloric intake is small. read more

me and my little cousin came here for a nice lunch after practice. she ordered a bagel and i got mac and cheese and a sandwich. my food comes out first and stuff and the women said her bagel would come out any min. so i started eating and than 10 min go by and she still didn't get her bagel. we asked about it because we saw people who came after us got there salads and soups and the lady was lost on what we were asking. she came back 2 times to ask us what kind of bagel she got and what she wanted with it. Yes i get it's lunch time but 45 min a bagel is a little uncalled for and to add my sandwich was mostly bread and very little meat for $6 it should have a decent amount of meat on it and i should leave here full. very disappointed. read more

We eat at the Panera Bread frequently - we love the quality of the service and the organic food choices. We enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance of the place - HOWEVER, this particular location has much to be desired - not only is run by high schoolers, mostly inexperienced - the presentation of the food was sloppy, the order was incomplete, and what's worse, the silverware had old food stuck on it, not to mention the grease marks. We went to the manager (who was very courteous and professional); when he was not able to find a any clean silverware - he said the dishwasher was broken - we ended up using plastic. The service here was horrible. I ordered a salad and the woman who took the order at the register told me they had it in stock even though the computer said that it was out of stock. I waited at my table for 10 mins and when I didn't hear my name I went up to the server counter. The kid working said they did not have the salad in stock. He didn't bother to tell me and I had to inquire. When I said I paid for it he told me he didn't know anything about it. Doesn't seem to be any management at this location. It is unfortunate, but I prefer to go out of my way to go to the Denville Panera instead of Rockaway. This location has housekeeping issues, always cold, and slow service. I hope they get it together, in the meantime I'll be frequenting the Denville location. read more

Went here for lunch and had a disappointing experience. Since they did away with picking up your own order it's both a good and bad corporate decision. I ordered the soup and half grilled cheese with bacon and tomato at the register, then was handed a numbered table buzzer. I waited 15 minutes and my order finally came and my buzzer retrieved. The soup was just barely warm and my sandwich was both wrong and cold. I brought it up to have it fixed and the expediter was on top of it. The issue is now I lost my seat and have to wait at the counter as I no longer have a buzzer. This time they filed a new soup bowl before making the sandwich so by the time the sandwich was ready the soup was cold. I found a new table and the soup was lukewarm and the sandwich was wrong again.....cant make this stuff up! I brought it up once again and they re did the order this time I suggested they not plate the soup before the sandwich was done. Finally it all came out correct and warm after 3 attempts but took 35 minutes total to get it right. read more

Got to Panera at 8:40 AM and store was almost empty. Looked for to go lunch options and none were listed. Asked and was told to look at the menu. Menu had no prices so not super helpful. Ordered a half Italian and apple. Got a hunk of bread and one slice each of 3 different Italian cold cuts and one slice of cheese. All slices were very thin. Also got a small apple with 1/3 rotten. Paid about $6.50. I felt ripped off as sandwich had noting else and I was never asked if I wanted anything like lettuce or tomato. Never going back there. read more

This is the healthiest restaurant in Rockaway Township, period. If you want a good sandwich, go for the Bacon Turkey Bravo with chips and a drink. Service is fast and easy once you hear your name (it can be hard to hear during high traffic periods such as dinner). They also have free wi-fi and they play calm jazzy music. read more

I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews.. I ordered a rapid pick up order from Panera tonight. I selected a you pick two and 2 chocolate chipper cookies as they were available when I ordered. I arrive to pick up my order just as some kid is slamming it down onto the shelf. I read my receipt and it says see the counter. I get to the counter and they have no cookies even though their online ordering site says they are available. I ask if they can make them because the last 2 times I ordered from them they didn't have them either, except this time the website allowed me to order them. The cashiers reply was "no unfortunately the baker went home for the day." She then found one on the counter, and gave me a brownie for the inconvenience.i appreciate the efforts, but You mean to tell me you cannot placed pre made dough on a baking sheet and put it in the oven for 10 minutes? I'll stick to the ITC Panera where the food quality is better and not limited. Rockaway location sucks and has poor service and sub par food. read more

Above normal level of friendliness coming from the staff. It's a pleasant experience except for that awkward moment while you're waiting for your food and no one wants to make eye contact with each other. The food is insanely over priced for how small the portions are. I understand the food is "fresh" but why am I giving a car payment for a Cuban sandwich? I hate leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately I have not had a great experience at this Panera compared to others. I have found a hair in my food twice, and they've forgotten a part of my order, however I was refunded for the whole order, not just the part they forgot, which was nice. Ive been coming to this Panera for lunch nearly everyday I work for about one full year. The food is always tasty and well prepared. I do rapid pickup so I can swing right in on my lunch and my food is already waiting for me. Out of the hundreds of times Ive eaten, they only messed my order up 1 time. This place is TERRIBLE at filling online orders correctly. After multiple tries I'm done going here. They constantly get the order wrong. For example, today I ordered half a kale Caesar salad with chicken and extra Parmesan crisps. What I got was a box that had 50% salad and 50% Parmesan crisps (that's right, "extra" apparently means fill the box half full), NO chicken, and NO dressing. I'd say something like this happens about half the time I order. On multiple occasions, I'll pay extra for a fruit cup and find out when I get back to work that they gave me chips instead. Just randomly picked chips or even multiple rolls. When I've called to ask about the error, they tell me they substituted something else because they were out of the fruit cup. That's right, instead of automatically just refunding me, they give me something else of their choosing instead. I ordered the fruit cup to be healthy, I don't want your damn chips!! The bottom line is that if you place an online order for pick up at this location, you have a 50% chance of wanting to punch your computer screen when you get back to your desk and realize what a bunch of tards they are. On a scale from 1-10 stars, they get 0. For places this bad, you need to use the Turd scale. They get 1 turd, because the food isn't bad, it's just always wrong. read more

I can't even get a good bagel there. Why would I do more? I work close to the Rockaway location.. Very close. Sunday I opened up a little early so I can get a few things done before anyone came in.. I picked myself up a plan bagel with plan cream cheese.. Oh wait. they had no plan cream cheese.. No big deal, I got a vegetable cream cheese instead.. At this point I'm still happy but can't understand how a place like this can run out of plan cream cheese. So now after 15 minutes after waiting for one person to order I.m back at my store.. I open the cream cheese and it looks like crap! it was half liquid and just plan nasty. I didn't have the time now to go back. Both the bagel and the cream cheese went into the trash and I went on with my day.. The bill only came out to around $2.50 but I'm more ticked off about wasting 15 minutes of my time and I'm still hungry. I will not be going to Panera Bread anytime soon. read more
