Then they gave use pickled chamoyte and kimichi (no extra charge). I have never tried chamoyte and I am now a huge fan! It's so delicious!! I was pleasantly surprised by our takeout meal from Hancook! We ordered the Beef Bulgogi, the Chicken K-Noodle, and the 8 piece wings. My husband and I LOVE Korean food and used frequent Fort Lee before we moved from Montclair, so we were dying to find a decent Korean place by our new house. I think this will be our new go-to. The meal came with the usual banchan, like kimchi, chamoyte, and pickled radish. The bulgogi was excellent and was served on top of some stir fried vegetables. We also really enjoyed the K-Noodle. Although we ordered takeout, the noodles were still a little chewy, and not soggy at all. The korean fried chicken was similarly very good, but I don't think it traveled as well as we hoped. It could have been a bit crispier, but that's proabably our fault for ordering it as takeout. We stuck it in the toaster oven for a little bit and it was good as new. Came here on a Saturday night. Was in the mood for Korean food and found this place via Yelp and Google. There was a slight wait when I got there but the workers there were very accommodating and set a table for me and my friend until another table was open. The place has a mom and pop restaurant vibe to the place, small and cozy. Got the galbi prime beef rib ($31.95) to start which was solid. And for my main, I got the beef tofu soup ($16.95) which was okay. When she heard me asking my husband about a few dishes she stopped by to show me the exact food we were asking about. Her pride in the food is obvious and she makes every guest feel like we are in her living room. The food is exquisite. We had my favorite, the seafood pancake and the large platter- an array of pork, beef and chicken- for our party of 7. The food was cooked perfectly- savory and delicious! My favorite local family owned Korean restaurant to grab authentic food! I love their japchae, seafood tofu soup, fried chicken and hot pot..though I think I'd enjoy their entire menu if I tried it all. Their dining area is small with a couple of tables but the service is always warm and gracious. I saw another review about the music being too loud but I'm sure if you asked, they'd lower the volume for you - I've personally never had any issues with the tunes. Super small place with more of a takeout vibe than a sit down spot but don't be fooled - the food is great and the front of house staff is extremely kind. This is the spot everyone goes with their best friend in every k-drama. Though they don't have soju - that I know of. We had an awesome lunch here in this small, family owned restaurant. Very easy to drive by this location on route 46 in Denville. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owner. Limited seating is available and we chose a nice high top table. They bring a lovely tea and condiments out when you order. As it was a cold day, we had ramen and split a scallion pancake. Ramen was delicious with lots of veggies and chicken. Kimchi on side was spicy and flavorful. Scallion pancake was served with a nice soy sauce type of dip which complimented the good well. Had the beef Mandu , edamame and seafood scallion pancake. They all tasted good. We also tried the beef galbi. Was so good . We cleaned our plates. Not a morsel left. The service was v good. I was in the mood for a soup based dish so I decided to try this Korean restaurant. I had seen some favorable reviews, but I have to say this was quite the experience. Don't get me wrong. It's not a very fancy place, but it is clean and cozy. What made this experience quite memorable was the excellent food and even better service. The owner who serves the food is the kind of sweetest lady. The Korean mother or grandmother you never had. I had the beef Ramen, which was delicious and quite large. When I arrived the owner she greeted me and she stated it was only a few more minutes more. She offered me tea while I waited that was the nicest gesture any restaurant has ever done while I waited for my order The restaurant is a quaint little spot with approximately 6 tables inside. They offer takeout and catering. I ordered sweet and spicy wings 8pcs and Pork Bulgogi with white rice. It comes with a 4oz to go ramekin of pickled radish, kimchi and soy sauce pickles. I plated my bulgogi with white rice and kimchi ...oh it was soooo good. Then I ate the wings and let me tell youuuu that sweet and spicy sauce was finger licking good...I truly enjoyed everything. I definitely recommend trying out this restaurant and supporting this local restaurant My cat even snatched my chicken (mean thing) because it's soo good. I go out of my way to eat here! The chicken wings are so dang good! Juicy, plump and flavorful; not greasy at all. Given the quality, the wings are worth the price point. The Seafood K noodles are so good, with some vegetables in the mix. First time there, ordered the bulgogi and was not served banchan with it initially; I assume it was the female proprietor who walked by mid meal and noticed and she promptly brought us kimchi and other banchan. Small husband and wife restaurant. Everything was tasty , even the banchans. They have chayote banchan which is not very common. Our server was so nice, making sure that we have a hot tea. Summary: a small Korean restaurant off of 46 in Rockaway, serving the authentic cultural favs. Prices are decent, higher than another place that's a few towns away. Taste is okay. Portions are average. I was pretty excited to try Hancook, especially since I usually have to travel to Parsippany for my Korean favs. I wasn't too impressed by Hancook though. We ordered their Bulgogi Bibimbap and Mixed Tofu soup. Bibimbap that I've had in the past has rice at the very bottom of the bowl and there's mixed blanched veggies, protein, and a sunny side up egg on top. I was surprised to find Hancook's Bibimbap that separated the rice from the dish and incorporated mixed salad greens, although it was mentioned on the menu. The bulgogi was tough and chewy. For the mixed tofu soup, we ordered mild spice level. I think we'll probably try a spicier level next time because we tasted a lot of the chicken broth base. There was a good amount of mixed seafood, pork and beef. For both dishes, we wish we had more rice. Both entrees came with rice but just a small cup full. We ordered over the phone although it looked like they have online ordering. It took about 40 minutes to prepare, that seemed a bit long, but they may have been busy. We had ordered on a Friday night. They have indoor seating but not sure if they are allowing dining in yet because no one was dining in when I went to pick up food. read more

I have been going here since the beginning. I go about twice a month by far. This place has the best wings I have ever tasted also, their soups and other Korean dishes are all good and freshly made. Most people don't know, but they also have a room downstairs for catered parties if you need it. Upstairs is nice and comfortable a few tables outside if the front gets full of cars there is extra parking on the side that people usually don't know about. This place is very friendly.
