I had a friend raving about how good the chicken was at this place and I was looking for a new place to try so there I was. From the look of the food, I was excited. The sandwich had a nice melted cheese and looked really sauced up with a thick piece of chicken. Things started falling apart, literally, because of the bun around my burger. A bun is supposed to be two piece but they didn't cut mine in half. The bread was just open like Pac Mans mouth taking a bite of my sandwich filling. Even if I took it apart myself, the sandwich filling were much too powerful for the bread as you couldn't get a good grip of things with the bread. I ended up scrunching the bread to keep my hold on it. Some might love it or feel value that they're getting all that in their meal. I consider it an unbalanced sandwich where the bread should complement it just like any of the other ingredients. On top of that, they had a self serve condiment station. That is very nice to have as I can change up the taste of my food how I want. I wish I was not at the back of the restaurant. I placed my order, waited close to the door as I was just taking it out. I saw the order before mine, he had sauce cups when he got up and I found it in the back of the room. So I walk over. I am in the middle of saucing some cups when they started calling my name to pickup in the front. I heard my name twice before rushing to the front to get it and then return to the back of the restaurant. I get that a lot goes into the placement of tables or utensils, but that was inconvenient for me going there for the first time. The condiment station had a good variety of sauce dispensers that you can fill sauce cups with. It had utensils and napkins or their own drink dispenser. A good lineup. I just thought the sauces had a strange liquid consistency. It may have just been how it was made that day but I wasn't a fan of it. The last part of my order was some fried pickles. That was as expected, where they slice pickles, batter them, and deep fry them. If you like pickles they are pretty good. They give a lot so I would say expect a shareable size. Since they're battered, it's not bad to sauce them up. Ultimately the chicken here was very good and my friend was right about it. But other parts of the experience could have been better. Plenty of seats inside but it seemed most business was takeout or delivery. There's quite a few chicken sandwich choices, I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken. The sandwich was huge! Tried Super Chix after seeing a lot of recommendations and it really didn't disappoint! I got a salad topped with their hand breaded chicken and it was better than what you'd expect for a "fast food chain" by miles. After a convention nearby, I stopped off at Super Chix, now open in the former Smoke & Steer BBQ strip plaza space near the Rockaway Townsquare. This fast casual chicken restaurant offers a variety of chicken sandwiches (breaded or grilled), chicken tenders, fries, salads, kids meals, frozen custard, shakes, and Pepsi fountain drinks. It's order at the counter or online and there's ample seating in the dining area. They give you a number stand and you place on your table and your food is brought out to you. There is a sauce bar and self serve drinks. I ordered the featured sandwich which was the Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich ($10.99 plus tax), a small hand cut fries ($3.49 plus tax) and a Cold Fusion Pretzel M&Ms Frozen Custard Treat ($5.99 plus tax). The frozen custard treat was brought out first, followed by the Chicken Sandwich and Fries. The Korean BBQ Chicken Sandwich was big and heavy which had a thick crisp breaded chicken cutlet smothered with a sweet spicy Korean BBQ sauce, cole slaw and pickles on a soft bun. The hand cut fries were cooked in peanut oil and had a good flavor, sort of similar to Five Guys, see the connection! The cold fusion frozen custard however was more like a vanilla soft serve which melted fast, mixed with M&Ms and pretzels, similar to a McFlurry. Overall, their featured chicken sandwich was very good as were the hand cut fries, which I dipped in the signature sauce (orange color), ranch sauce and BBQ sauce. The custard was decent here, but I would actually drive to a Freddy's Frozen Custard for a dense concrete treat. It's comfort food without reward for the sin. You can't miss the sign out front. It was busy but not yet full inside on a Saturday at lunch hour. They have counter-height seating with stools, as well as booths inside and tables outside. The cashier was hospitable and direct, which I appreciated: I asked how for how many fries were in the regular size, and he showed me a fry basket; I asked for calorie counts and he tried to find them for me on the print takeout menus (they weren't on there). I appreciate that every menu item is available with either grilled or breaded chicken. I liked how everything looked. But the butterfly chicken filet just didn't have anything to it - not even salt on the breading - and the Cajun fries were hot, not spicy, especially compared to their Five Guys counterparts. Honestly, first time here and had a pretty crappy experience. We stopped by the dispensary next door on our way to our campground, inside they had coupons for Super Chix and the staff raved about it, so we decided to stop in. We ordered 6 chicken tenders and a large fry TO GO. We get the bag with our order and we see the container of chicken tenders buried under greasy fries that were just thrown right into the bag. No container, no sort of sleeve to catch the grease, literally threw the fries straight into the bag on top of the container of chicken.. so now that whole container is greasy and we have to dig it out of the bag. We found this weird and disgusting so we asked the staff if the fries are supposed to be in a container or just thrown inside the bag and they said they're supposed to be thrown in the bag.. I've never been to a place that packages greasy food TO GO like this. We had to double bag the food in the car because the whole bottom of the bag was soaked in grease. It's pretty ridiculous and if this is really how they are out here serving food, the company needs to reevaluate that. Who wants to pull a container of food out of a bag soaked in grease because a greasy food was straight up dumped on top.. So disappointed and disgusting. Just wasted our money. read more

The 1st time i tried super Chix in Rockaway did not do it justice. I had just gotten out of work and rushing to get home. I had ordered take out but didn't realize it took so long to prepare. It was my daughter and I. We were in the area had just spent a nice day together, and needed lunch. We arrived around 1pmish and it had some people but not full . The place always looks clean and spacious. The cashier was a young lady this time. (not sure why it's hard for young adults to smile and say hello) but regardless we placed our order, and I wanted to try the food as soon as it came out. And let me tell you what a difference, there are some places where the food is great in or out, but Super Chix I truly recommend you eat there! It was delicious!! The Chicken sandwich was nice and crispy, no soggy wet bun. Don't be in a rush just sit in and enjoy the meal. So I ordered the Cheesy BBQ Sandwich and my daughter the Buffalo Ranch Sandwich. Chance upon this place after shopping. We were first enticed the big sign outside. Sure I was expecting just a regular chicken tender joint but I was wrong. Upon entering it kind of reminded me of a very clean Shake Shack, the smell was amazing. While in line I was able to talk to a regular who gave me a great idea. She told me to get the kids tenders or chicken slider because for $10 you get the regular sized chicken slider, fries, a fountain drink and custard. WHAT A STEAL! The color of the fry indicates the oil hasnt been changed or filtered in ages. The fries were cold and greasy as well. I didn't know what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. The nashville hot sando was among my favorites that i've had. I also ordered fries- with the cajun seasoning. They were a little crispier than I like, but still very good. I like the fact that they have a sauce station so you can get extra sauce for your sando or fries. I also like the fact that they have grilled or friend chicken breasts- this gives you a lot more options. I am looking forward to going back. read more
