Fixed Menu in Ballroom Prime rib was overcooked Chicken Kiev was on par Salad was iceberg lettuce with shredded carrots & ranch dressing Steamed veggie mix - cauliflower overcooked but the tricolor carrots in it were good Pasta Salads cooked firm & sauce tangy Southwest wraps hard Soft Pretzels rock hard BBQ Chicken skewers decent tho messy Sadly, everything was cold. I can't speak to value as I didn't see the price, since everything was pre-paid. Wait staff were friendly & the barkeeps were slinging drinks in the dark, using phones for flashlights- pretty impressive. I can't say that the offerings would get me to come in for a sit down meal. read more

We had dinner and breakfast at the Primo Restaurant during our one night stay. They had half price appetizers at dinner which was great (not sure if that's every night or just a certain day, but we went on a Wednesday if that helps). The calamari was pretty good, but I don't recommend the spinach and artichoke dip. It was kind of just like spinach pesto and the bread was way to buttery. The complimentary bread basket + olive oil is really yummy though!! I had the portobello mushroom ravioli, which was also pretty good but really buttery (all the butter was kinda yummy tho ngl). My boyfriend didn't really enjoy his chicken parm, but my mom loved the buffalo chicken wrap! Overall, food is pretty okay, but definitely above average for a hotel. I think it sort of depends on what you get. The place is kind of poorly run but that's not the staff's fault at all; they're all really great and doing their best. read more

Waiter Johnny was the third star Good was not bad, but not good enough for Me to gush over either. Now, the dessert was phenomenal and Johnny Made it for us by hand! Malbec was good too Salad eh, ok Fettuccine average, but my daughter liked it a lot read more

Returned to a resultant I haven't been to in many, many years and will NOT be returning soon. There isn't a specific reason I hadn't been in years (honestly just forget about it) and their New Years Eve menu sounded really good so we gave it a try. The service was okay but not great. Our waitress was very friendly but missed multiple things during the meal, forgotten soup, drinks, etc. I went with my boyfriend and we both liked our appetizers, lobster bisque and crab stuffed mushrooms. Honestly the lobster bisque was the best part of the meal and easily a 4.5/5. I tried their drink special, a grapefruit rose sangria that was really just a terrible mimosa. There was no distinct flavor and tasted like a college, cocktail mixing mistake. For our meal I tried the portobello ravioli. The wine butter sauce was straight butter and was very heavy on the pasta, the spinach was stirred in raw rather than being cooked, and the ravioli was complete mush in the center and hard around the crimping. My boyfriend had the king prime rib. He was happy with the cut but not at all with the flavor, very bland. His brussel sprouts with cream sauce had no cream and his skillet potatoes were undercooked. Tried to round the meal off with a dessert and the bread pudding came out looking like stuffing and was chock full of undercooked apples. Disappointing holiday date night. read more

This place is overpriced and gross. I'm not sure how you can justify $8 for one framing pancake, but somehow it exists. We ordered two muffins of the same kind, but upon delivery, they suddenly were out. Eggs had American cheese in them, which, for what you pay for is gross. Denny's does a better job, and uses shredded cheese at least. I'm not sure how you screw up spaghetti, but I'm pretty sure my 6 year old nephew would be better at preparing and it would taste delicious (comparatively). If you are staying at the Grand Hotel they charge an 18% gratuity but still provide a line for additional tip. Yeah, right. They did disclose of the phone, but it's not clearly itemized. Additionally, the person who delivers the food stated gratuity is not charged. The Grand staff is notorious for lying at this point, and it's sketch AF. Food is delivered without gloves or face mask. Order DoorDash from Denny's and you will get better quality food. I'm sure their service is better too. Note: we were unable to leave the hotel due to COVID rules to isolate (not a hotel requirement). read more

Terrible. 17.00 for 4 ravioli. No salad no nothing. The garlic sauce was overpowering and sweet......what's with that? Never ever again. read more

Nope, Negative... What a dated horrible place to eat at, the lack of customer service not only at the "Grand Hotel" and this restaurant will for surely have it closed soon. read more

Good for Minot. High prices. Staff isn't very service oriented or friendly but all in all good food for the options available in Minot. Had the Bourbon Street Pasta, it was good except for the "Blackened" Chicken. I'm not sure they really know what "blackened" means. But the Sausage, Pasta and Sauce were really good. The Husband had the Hunter's Ribeye which he said was really good and flavored well. Although, it's $25 and it's VERY small, like 10 or maybe even 8 oz. He said it was good enough to order again if it wasn't for the price. If it were 16-18 oz. he said it would be totally worth the $25 price tag and worthy of ordering again. The kids Burger Slider Meal my son ordered was what you'd expect. Little frozen style patties. read more

Food was average at best. I ordered eggs medium well. I got soft runny eggs. There was so much oil in my plate the USA wanted to invade it. So much salt in my food. The Dead Sea wanted it back. One of the servers started crying at a table when she messed up their order. Ghastly, I'd hate to see what the fridges and stock rooms look like if their cutting corners on quality and staff. Would not recommend. read more

Primo is way overpriced for the quality. The only reason it's probably still open is simply because it's located in the hotel. The food is just ok at best. read more

Any where else, this restaurant would probably get two stars, but I will give it an extra star because it is in Minot. In the last 18 years since I left my hometown, all the little cafes, bar and grills and supper clubs of my youth have dried up, blown away and been replaced by Applebees, Starbucks, and Space Aliens. It is becoming harder and harder to eat there without resorting to fast food. Every visit home there are literally hours spent agonizing about where to go for dinner. Increasingly we find ourselves turning to Primo. Primo for breakfast: decent egg dishes, a whole "light" menu and a breakfast buffet which I loath but my mother loves because they make made to order omelettes. Presumably that's what you'd get if you just ordered off the menu, but my mom lakes the added advantage of being able to stand there and boss them while they make it. Primo at lunch: decent sandwiches, burgers and soups. I usually split a sandwich with my mom because the portion size is ridiculous. Primo at dinner: there is only one way to go here and that is meat. I ordered a really good steak the last time we were here and that is strangely difficult to do in Minot. I say strangely difficult because Minot is smack in the middle of a huge beef production zone and you used to not be able to throw a rock without hitting a steakhouse or supper club that specialized in beef. Now of course the local steak places have been replaced by Applebees which serves beef from South America. The room is kind of typical hotel restaurant circa 1989--theres a lot of cushioning and mauve involved in the decor. The restaurant has good views of the city, being perched high on North Hill and in the evening with the lights twinkling it's kinda nice. read more

It was the worst place I have eaten in Minot. I took my son there to have an enjoyable dinner. The waiter was rude the host was worse. They brought me my spaghetti it wasn't even cooked. They ran out of bread. This place is so badly run and even worse their staff. There was one other table in there on a Saturday night at 730pm. That should of been inclination of what was in store for us. read more

This restaurant is located in The Grand Hotel in Minot, ND. Three meals a day are served here. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this eatery because we found the dining experience to be a good one. On our first day here we went to breakfast with some of the others in our group. The server was not only efficient and friendly, she remembered serving some of us in the lounge and even remembered drink orders! For our breakfast we ordered bacon, basted eggs, hash browns, and toast. Everything was cooked to order and the crispy hash browns were especially good! There were pitchers of water and coffee on the table so our cups and glasses were always full. Wanting a special dinner for our class reunion, we reserved a table close to the window with a city view. The dinner menu features among other dishes, several beef options of sirloin, ribeye steak, and prime rib(only on Saturdays) My husband and I opted to share the large prime rib with a baked potato and caesar salad. We were very happy with the prime rib---it was very flavorful and cooked medium to our liking. In fact, the rest of our group seemed very content with the food they ordered. We ended the meal with a slice of carrot cake---delicious! Our server was very helpful and the food all came out in a timely manner. Certainly a place to recommend for a large group---there were fifteen of us! read more

We have been coming here for the past two years and this place has gotten better and better. They recently remodeled and now it matches the awesome view of the city. It's a hidden gem! Really good steaks and pasta. Staff has been occomodating and helpful. They have a good wine selection too! We've called ahead to reserve the tables at the windows for dinner. The view is amazing. This is a great place for date night! I love the changes they've made and how friendly the staff is. A year and a half ago I wouldn't of given this place 5 stars but they have really stepped up! The bread and dipping oil that come with dinner is great! And if you like something spicy their bourbon street pasta dish is amazing! And you can ask for 'extra' spicy if you like :) ENJOY!!! read more

If you haven't been here in a while, do yourself a favor and check it out. Apparently they have a new chef and it's super legit. I had the sirloin Bella and it was probably the best sirloin I've ever had at a restaurant. I rarely order steak at a restaurant because I can usually make it so much better on my Traeger at home, but I gave it a shot here and I'm glad I did. The chicken wings were amazing too by the way. Will definitely be back. read more

We went to Primos for the New Year's Dinner. It was our first dining experience with Primo and it will be our last. Problems - 20 minutes to get our drinks. No refills offered -90 minutes to get our meals. When served it was cold. We ordered a steak medium well and it came raw. - We were told a Manager was coming to speak to us. That never happened. My advice is to pass on Primos if you want a good meal. Also, your wallet won't be as light Tom J read more

Excellent service and atmosphere, but food fell very short. Had the seafood alfredo and spinach and artichoke dip. Both were very bland. The "crab" was partially brown, the shrimp so overcooked it was like chewing rubber, and bits of shell were found in my pasta. However, the half priced bottles of wine on Wednesday helped me enjoy my meal a bit more. And I'd recommend their caramel brownie to anyone. All in all, go for the view, drinks, and dessert but skip the entrees. read more

Had high expectations for this place however was not impressed. The restaurant was average looking and dated but okay. The food would have been good except it had a few issues: The cheesy bread was sorta done, warm but the cheese wasn't entirely melted; the lettuce salad was a bit wilted; and the the lasagna was cold but the garlic bread was hot... The restaurant was not busy so why was the food served cold? read more

We went to the mothers day buffet. It was awful. The food was cold, bland, and over cooked. For 19 dollars I would expect better quality. The chicken was very bland and the sauce tasted like flour and milk. No seasoning. The prime rib was dry, over cooked and gross. The veggies were over cooked and the "cheese sauce" had no cheese in it. The salad consisted of lettuce and dressing. Waaay over priced for the slop they served. They need to fire whomever is in charge and hire a real chef. NEVER AGAIN read more

Came here with Auntie & Uncle while visiting Minot. We had a table near the window and could see the "city" lights while eating. Please don't patronize this restaurant, unless you want inflated prices, terribly rude service, and disgusting food. Unfortunately, I have been to this restaurant numerous times, since others in Minot seem to believe that, because it has tablecloths and an Italian theme, it must be good. With the oil boom, people are absolutely knocking down the doors of average places in town like Applebee's and the Olive Garden, which are indeed fabulous by comparison, and whose parking lots are overflowing with patrons. The International Inn is a convention spot, and could benefit by actually hosting a real restaurant. Far from the "night spot" it appears, even from the beginning, it is abrasive. One waits at the desk for a prolonged period for a table, even though there are many empty spots. No adult employees seem to be present. Eventually, a teenager will seat you and shove a glass of water in your face. I should have known that it would be a gruesome experience by the lack of clientele on a busy Saturday night in town. Sadly, I've had numerous entrees here including several pastas, fish, and steak. They are nearly unpalatable. Tonight was the piece de resistance! I had the Bruschetta appetizer, replete with dried, rock-hard sun-dried tomatoes on cheap untoasted bread with some melted cheese on top. When I retired to the restroom for less than 5 minutes, my glasses (left on the table) were gone! Even though the waitress, Lorilee was around, I had to summon her to find out that - in my brief bathroom break - they had assumed I had run out on the tab and were going to clear my table, even though I had a full, unconsumed glass of wine and the entire disgusting Bruschetta dish! She retrieved my glasses from the front desk. When I told Lorilee that the Bruschetta was disgusting, she did nothing except say "sorry". No offer to make it right. No offer to try another appetizer. No explanation of the bizarre glasses-confiscation and assumption that I had just run out on the bill!! While paying at the front, the teenager-in-charge obviously cared nothing about my complaints, nor did she offer to contact her manager or take any further action. The food is disgusting! The service is rude! My advice: stay away! read more

meh. it's okay. the bread is pretty bad and there is entirely too much garlic in the pasta dishes and salad. I sweated garlic for days. it's fine for minot though. The decor looks like a nursing home. read more

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The wait was ridiculous the first time I went. We waited over 15 minutes and didn't get water. Went back tonight and the wait was better. I ordered New York steak and my date ordered the prime rib. We got garlic mashed potatoes and salads for the sides. The mashed potatoes were plain and bland. The texture was gooey and made me loose my appetite. It wasn't the creamy potato texture. The salad dressing was sour. The lettuce in the salad was limp. I ordered my steak medium rare and when I got it, not only was it covered in mushrooms that I didn't order, it was fully cooked and over cooked. Plain taste no seasoning flavor and super dry. Our ticket was over $80 for two people. Not satisfied with anything we ordered. My brother in law and his girlfriend have been a couple times. They have ordered pasta and also said it was plain and only tasted noodles. They ordered the cheesecake and also said it was disgusting. Save some money and go elsewhere. read more

The food was excellent. Had pasta, salads and dessert (with rum sauce - yummy). It was great and could not be any better!

The food is great, but the service is severely lacking. There is hardly ever a hostess at the entryway--which is annoying both when you arrive and want to be seated within 10 minutes and when you leave and need to pay your bill. (No, your waitress will not ring you up. You need to carry your ticket to the front like you just had a truck-stop buffet.) We saw waitresses tripping over tray caddies, forgetting to bring water, drinks, bread, and oil to their tables (as far as I could tell, no waitress had more than three-four tables). The waitresses were also flustered and forgot details about orders; like dressing on the side, or no butter on potatoes. There was also a lot of inconsistency at breakfast. One waitress brought us a side of fruit in a tiny cup and charged us 4.50 for it, another waitress brought us a nice-sized bowl of fruit for the same price! Management claims they're a 4-star establishment, but you'd get better service from a seasoned Olive Garden staff. read more

Last night a friend came to town and took us out to eat. We went to Primo. There were 7 of us. We placed our order and 35 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came out and told us that they were out of baked potatoes, so I ordered extra crispy hash browns. after waiting another 20 minutes our food came except for a bowtie pasta dish that one person ordered. The waitress had forgotten to tell the cook no onions, so her order had to be remade. My hash browns were mashed potatoes not hash browns! The other person who ordered hash browns gave me hers as she said it would take too long for them to make another order of hash browns. My steak was no where near medium rare as I had ordered. It was medium. When I was half way done with my over cooked steak, The one who gave me her hash browns said her steak was under cooked. The waitress had mixed up our steaks. We were over half way done eating by the time the bowtie pasta dish was finally brought to the person who had ordered it with no onions. When it did finally arrive, It wasn't even bowtie pasta, It was the long cylinder pasta. When we first ordered, the person who was paying for the meal gave his credit card to the waitress and said he wanted to pay for it right away as he was in a hurry. We seen people come in after us and they got served, ate and left before we all got our food, That was my first time eating there and it will be my last!!!! The worst experience I've EVER had. And I have lived in 15 states and traveled to 47 of the states and NEVER had a problem like we did last night!!!!!!! Doesn't even deserve a 1/2 star. But since it wouldn't let me post without any stars I had to give 1. read more
