I was visiting from Las Vegas and this was the perfect spot to enjoy wine, cocktail and tapas. Music sets a great ambiance and low enough to have a conversation. Variety of seating from tall tables to couch.... They will remodeling soon and I can't wait to see the new upgrades. They have bar area too for the quick drink and rest spot shopper. I had a red flight and they were nicely paired. We had the shrimp cocktail and the most amazing artichoke dip... you won't want to miss. The caramel kiss was delightful if you are not a wine drinker and enjoy hot chocolate. This is a seasonal drink. It is a great spot to visit. A must stop next time I return to Minot. read more

We greatly enjoyed our latest visit. We were greeted and served promptly at the bar. We did not order food this time... just 2 drinks and out but everything was on par and pricing good. Redemtion from our bad experience Feb 2: Wish they would have gotten the particularly annoying guy at the large table to tone it down, so we could have enjoyed the tap takeover too. At some point, the establishment needs to hold the customers to their standards and patron expectations, to entice the rest of the attendees to be repeat customers. I get it, good tips from obnoxious drunks. Still, security from repeat business must be considered in the equation. I love the fact that OTV is not the typical bar. December 23, 2011 Friday - dinner 6:00 PM 2 adults Atmosphere - 5 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - Birthday dinner with my fiancé. Atmosphere - A classy little bar. Great art work and love the painted life size horse near the front door. Later in the night they had a jazz band playing which brought a crowd in. Food Appetizer - It is a tapas night out for dinner. Chipotle meatballs, there were six on the plate each with its own toothpick covered carefully with a red sauce. They were very tasty. At the same time we got the Bruschetta Sampler. This was my favorite one of the night. One of the samples of Bruschetta was smothered in mushrooms, I would have been happy eating that all night. What a wonderful surprise as I am not a big mushroom eater. Finally we finished the night with the Antipasto; salami, ham, many types of cheeses, and a variety of crackers. I just wish I knew what each of the cheeses was on the plate, the menu did not say. Main Course - All we ate were tapas so no real main course. Dessert - We had dessert here too, the only item on the menu is a Tiger cake. Chocolate cake with some white frosting all drizzled with chocolate syrup. It reminded me of having a ding dong as a kid, but taking it to the next level. The cake was chilled. Service - Our waitress was polite and helpful and always handy for our next order. Beer and wine only --- tapas. There's a good variety of beer and a large wine list. The prices are fair, I had a bottle beer for $4. We ordered the Artichoke Dip ($8), it was fantastic! I loved that everything is visually appealing; tapas look delicious and some of the beers come with a matching glass (thought that was a cute touch). I sat at the bar but there are plenty of tables and seating for groups. The ambiance here is really nice. It's very clean and has a classy/romantic decor. You can dress up or down, I saw both. This was my first time being here and I believed that it was actually all our first time being here (5 of us). The atmosphere really nice but boy were the tables and chairs tall. We all felt like little kids in a high chair and had to "climb" up onto the seats. There was quite a big selection to choose from for drinks and not much for food (as some other yelpers mentioned). I feel that this would be an issue to address, I'd definitely come back for sure if there was more food to choose from. The prices weren't so bad, it's about what you would expect from other establishments but some portions were much smaller than we expected. Let's talk about service, the lady that was there seemed like the only one working there the night we went in. She took a bit of time to get to our table and at times we were wondering when she'd come back to us. I don't think we should have to climb down from our seats to walk over to the bar area to get utensils or to ask for something. You'd want to sit down and chat with your friends. But it just felt like she kept forgetting about us, maybe that wasn't the case and she had her hands full but I really don't think any customer should walk back and forth when they needed something. Boy was I thirsty that night too, a few of us drank all our water already and I wish so badly that she'd hurry to give us more. She noticed it and told us she'd get more water for us but didn't come back until 20min later with that water. By that time I was chewing on whatever ice cubes were left in my cup. Overall I think that more food choices would be super and that more help was necessary. I'm torn between 2/3 stars. I want to be nice and give them a 3 but if I'm truly being honest here, they just have too much to work on so a 2 seems more appropriate. Although the food was limited, it did taste good... You walk in......you're greeted by the Black Keys oozing from the sound system, the interior is hip - but not pretentious. A smile creeps up from the corners of your mouth ( like the Grinch after his epiphany on just HOW he'll wreck Christmas for the Who's)....you feel good and thank the Angels of YELP for another score! I sat at the bar, Bryce the bartender/waiter was friendly and quick to welcome me - there's more wine on hand than a Greek temple, but they ALSO have quality beer in the refrigerator. I had a Summit & let Bryce choose the next - a beer called "Carpe Brewem" (solid). On to the food........YOU are in for a gastronomic high five! They serve Tapas only ....but holy God it's good. I ate hummus (homemade), delicious crab Rangoon (the REAL STUFF- not that cream cheese crap you get elsewhere ) and wonderful lettuce chicken wraps.......I'm not kidding when I say THIS is GREAT FARE and worth the excellent price; I'm full and content. The wine and beer selection are excellent!! The atmosphere is wonderful and so is the service.... The 'tapas' could use improvement. Deli meats and jarred olives aren't really a match to how Nice it is in there. Kicking it up just a notch would make a huge difference. Gourmet olives and cheeses pair well with wines. Maybe offer a bread and dipping oil with a bottle purchase. Maybe a Pesto cheese spread, just a suggestion. Really over all the place is wonderful. Went in there once, was enjoying a conversation with my partner, the place was empty except for me, my friend, the waitress & Im guessing her boyfriend. And we were told to keep our voice down! For what? We weren't really loud but being an empty bar, no music so yes our voices carried. But seriously, keep our voices down? Who were we disturbing? This place is located in downtown Minot. It has a beautiful fireplace and piano. Off the Vine also has a great selection of wine for a place located in Minot. I've never gotten there early enough to sample their menu. However, I've heard good things about the cheese plate. read more

I love this place. The atmosphere is great, the wine choices are pretty great. The appetizers are delicious and it's just a really great place to go after a gallery visit or just to catch up with some friends or maybe even to go on a romantic one on one with your special someone. I love how cozy the place is and the service is really great. The crowd ranges in young to old and each time we've gone there have been a super loud bunch of women on a "women's night out" which kind of sucks because they're beyond obnoxious. Terrible service, took the "bartender" a little under 10 minutes to realize I sat down, walked by me 4 times until she finally asked what I wanted. While sitting at the bar, the male "bartender" who doesn't look like he showered this year brought in Thai food and the two females stood there and ate in front of all 6 of the customers. The few decent things about this place is prices are decent, tapas were pretty weak, but the decor and interior were really nice. Lack of customers probably due to poor staff. Went here for the scavenger hunt and pub crawl for st Patrick's day. Wish I could say I had a good experience. I had never been here before and thought the scavenger hunt would be a good time to try the place out. One of the bartenders there was incredibly rude to me and my group. She checked our IDs, and would then ask us if we were 21 (which I thought our IDs would prove...). She then said to my husband after taking his ID, "you know I'm too busy to care. Are you 21?" We were all understanding that the pub crawl was a crazy time, but the attitude she gave us was uncalled for. We were rioting drunks, we were just trying to have fun. We took a seat and waited for a server. 15 minutes later, one of the people in our party went up to the bar (where there were 3 servers/bartenders standing around - one of which was looking at her phone) and asked if we could get served. Extremely comfortable atmosphere in the downtown area. They have a large selection of wines, some beers, and ciders. The food is delicious and the staff are always very helpful in choosing different wines and whatnot. Out of the 4-5 times I've been here it was usually an older crowd, but being apart of the younger crowd we were still welcomed. read more

I was at off the vine tonight and one week ago. They have a decent wine selection, which is why I come back but the poor service has eventually out weighed the average wine selection available. They are usually understaffed, and the one or two people that work there are poorly trained and get to a table about once a hour. They also ask for more tip on your way out even though they barely wait on you. We also had to ask for our check a few times(we went up to the bar) and it was an hour before the waitress came by with it and she had only one out five checks, and would take off mid sentence before we could ask her to get the remainder tabs closed. It's the worst service ever, and the worst service in town. They should learn from starving rooster, or tap room, or lamplighters where the staff is busy but friendly and good at their jobs.
