Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. Amazing Italian food, it's easy to miss but…read moreso worth it. Service: As some have said the service is a little slow but I took it more as relaxing. This is one of those restaurants that you go to for the "dining experience". Not an in and out rushed kind of establishment, your truly "dining" and enjoying the moment kind of a place. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable of the menu offering us great suggestions. Food: Some of the best Italian food I've had in a long time. From start to finish everything was out of this world. -To start the burrata and tomato was very fresh and tasty. Some of the best burrata surprisingly, I didn't imagine Amsterdam would be known for this Italian treat when all of their cheeses usually offered are hard. The olive oil dressing to match was great, I have burrata & tomato salads all of the time but this one blew me away....maybe I was just hungry from all the walking but that's not the point, give it a try. My main dish: pesto pasta. Great! Super flavorful and the green beans mixed in was a treat. I honestly stuffed my face, the serving size is large but it's too good to just eat half. I'd highly recommend this dish as I saw many also ordered it. The ravioli was good as well, I stole a bit from the table. Pricing is reasonable given its a nicer restaurant in the area with great quality food. This place is a true Italian dining experience, I'd highly recommend this place for a romantic dinner or just simply to impress your guests with a hidden gem.

We loved what we got. Girlfriend got the eggplant, I had a homemade pasta dish…read more Girlfriend has strange hot bone for the attractive waiters so this review may be biased. Pleasant atmosphere, good service, moderate prices for the delicious food. Not saying anything more about the wait staff. GF - wants further mention of friendly and attractive wait staff.

A True Gem in Amsterdam: Outstanding Food and Service at Guasto…read more Guasto Italian Restaurant in Amsterdam completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like we were their top priority. The level of service was exceptional--warm, attentive, and professional. They genuinely made us feel like VIPs, offering personalized recommendations and ensuring we were comfortable throughout our meal. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish was a masterpiece, bursting with fresh, authentic flavors. The pastas were perfectly cooked, and the pizzas were crispy, delicious, and topped with the finest ingredients. We couldn't get enough! Each meal was better than the last, and the variety on the menu ensured there was something for everyone. The management team was also incredibly hands-on, ensuring that each guest had an unforgettable experience. Their hospitality and attention to detail truly set Guasto apart from other restaurants. After such an amazing first experience, we ended up dining at Guasto four times during our trip to Amsterdam. It's clear this restaurant is committed to excellence in both food and service. If you're in the city, don't miss out on this incredible dining experience! Staff was so nice they even made a special request and made a baked potato for my salad and steak Thank you to the amazing staff

We wanted to go upscale a little bit and found a cluster of Italian restaurants. We looked online…read morefor reviews and Restaurant Gusto looked good, so we went in. We were seated and noticed a large block of hollowed-out parmesan cheese on a butcher-block table. After reviewing the menu, we asked about the cheese. It was for a spaghetti dish that "we wouldn't soon forget." "If we won't forget it, we have to have it," even though spaghetti is not the most adventurous thing to order in an Italian restaurant. The spaghetti is cooked and mixed with tomato sauce, then what I am guessing is hot oil is ignited and dumped into the hollowed out cheese. Then the spaghetti is added and mixed with the melted cheese, removed and served with additional shreds of hard parmesan. The result is nothing short of fantastic and I believe it when I was told Americans return every couple of years or so just to eat this dish. We also had a mozzarella and tomato salad (as if we needed additional cheese) and complimentary green and black olives. Most restaurants here serve Heineken on tap, but this place appears to only have Peroni, which was perfect. We'll be back. Another very nice Italian place in the little Italy street from Amsterdam…read more Don't expect pizza's here though this is a real kitchen! This very small Italian is always packed. In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
