This was a home inspector that I was very thankful for after trusting the online reviews. A little background....We had recently sold our home in Buckeye, and the home inspector that the buyer had hired, ended up costing us money and scaring away the buyer with the way he worded his report. At the next Inspection, we found out with the new person, not a single one of the things the previous inspector had horribly worded/called out at "major" was valid. And their home inspector Probably didn't explain things very well. The new buyers inspector was much more professional and explained things to their client. It ended up being undue stress on us. But we learned a lot in the selling process, about what we wanted in our buying process. But it really educated us on the importance of the right Inspector. Some inspectors make bigger deals in their report, or word things in ways that new homebuyers and people that do not understand home construction, will end up freaking out about. They want to make a "mountain out of a mole hill" so to speak, so the buyer can try to get more money reduced from the offer or make a seller fix things that usually are not required to get fixed by sellers. Inspectors are supposed to be honest and explain things with an unbiased perspective, not just cater to the buyer only. The buyer may pay for it, but it's still supposed to be an unbiased and honest inspection. Their report can later effect homeowners insurance rates and what they cover and hone warranty stuff and bite the buyer in the butt. Especially if they like the house so much that they were willing to overlook what an inspector stated was a major issue but really wasn't. Based on his reviews and previously working in the construction business with people that new Prime, we chose him. We wanted to start our closing process as soon as possible and the day after we made our offer and it was excepted, he was able to schedule our Gilbert home inspection. He was very honest, very thorough and his final presentation to us was very informative and he answered all of our questions and was honest with us on what was truly important, what would probably break in the next couple of years or less, and what our very strict VA loan would/would not except. I highly recommend this inspector. He made our home inspection process so much less stressful. Kevin did a great job with our home inspection in January 2015. Our one year home warranty was fast approaching with Meritage Homes and we needed peace of mind going forward that our house was okay since we had so many issues. I was worried about some of the cracks in my new house that my original inspector didn't found. I contacted Kevin for sanity check. He quickly replied in Yelp, and answered my call the next day. He's very knowledgable, he explained what he thought was going on, and suggested me to contact my original inspector. However I still decide to let Kevin come as he seemed very trustworthy. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. For very little amount of charge, Kevin thoroughly checked my house, found out potential issues that my previous inspector didn't find, suggested repairs and told us it's all cosmetic problem, not real structural damage.
