    Honey Walnut Shrimp
    Kellee B.

The portions here are humongous! Honestly, the chow mein could have feed an entire family. I'll be eating left overs all week long. It was filled with large, juicy, pieces of chicken. The noodles were flavorful but slightly too salty in some bites. I love honey walnut shrimp and I was very impressed with the size of these shrimps. Jumbo for sure! Something about a crisped fried shrimp in a creamy, sweet sauce topped with the crunch of a candied walnut. Perfection.

Always hot and Freshly made. Yummy. Plenty of food for sure. For me it is at least two meals. One for dinner and leftovers for lunch. They have made significant improvements on signage. However the seating area can use updating for sure. One of our favorite Chinese places to go. Order at the counter then pay at register. You'll get a # and will call your number when ready. Cant hardly wait to get come and chow down.

I was craving Chinese and this place stood out. No frills. You go in, order from the big menu and you'll be out in less than 15 minutes. This type of Chinese food is very nostalgic to me. It's quintessential Chinese-American. The dishes were not greasy and the flavor was plentiful. I did note feel thirsty afterwards. The portions are huge. This will last me throughout the week. Definitely worth checking out. I'd go back. 10/10 would recommend.

It was our first time trying this place out as we were housesitting in Rocklin, thought we could try it out as it had good reviews. We ordered a combo plate for dinner you definitely get a good portions for a decent price it came piping hot we got it to go and the staff was nice when we went to go pick it up. The only thing is it was a salt bomb so at times certain bites were getting a little too overwhelming. I can't remember if we finished our meal but it didn't taste bad it just was a bit too salty. Not sure if we would try it again but wasn't horrible.

We just had a to-go meal from Prime Wok Express for the fourth time, two years in a row for Thanksgiving. As always, generous portions served piping hot. I got chow mein and cashew chicken, which has lots of fresh veggies and tender chicken. The service is prompt and friendly.

    Hefty servings! Delicious

The reviews and photos are on point for Prime Wok Express - big servings, your order is cooked fresh, and food is absolutely delicious unlike plenty of other Chinese spots we've had for fast to-go service. Best advice? Call ahead of time to pick up as this place gets rather busy and rightfully so! No "special" twist with their freshly cooked Chinese food selections. Just good'ol traditional simple Chinese food to have your taste buds do the fandango dance (if that's even a dance). Ambiance is precisely what is should be - feels like a wonderful spot with hard working staff that provided fantastic service as promptly as possible. This is our new baseline for Chinese food in the Roseville-Rocklin area. Going to be hard to beat! My favorite so far is their General Tsao's chicken - tasty, delicious, just the right amount of spice! Passing on cheese wonton next time since their crab cheese wonton is just that much better. Yum! Fried rice and chow mein were soooo sooo good. Not too salty, not too bland, and juuuust right. Service was great, no complaints at all. Might try their eggplant with garlic sauce next time - pics don't do this place justice. Highly recommended to fulfill your Chinese food cravings! I'm sure locals knew about this spot already. Having recently moved to Roseville, we're ecstatic to find out what locals already knew. This hole in the wall is an absolute diamond!

    Mixed vegetable (not) "Chicken"

Not a SINGLE piece of chicken in the Mixed Vegetable chicken. Not one. Lots of food, generous serving but not a single piece of chicken. We've come here a lot and it's usually good, but only ordered the orange chicken. The one time I deviate, I get screwed. Tip: if you want protein, order the dishes that only come with the protein like orange chicken. Otherwise you get everything BUT the protein. Very disappointed.

MUST TRY! We've passed this place a handful of times on our way to a taphouse and I'm so sad that we hadn't tried this place sooner. The place is not well suited for a sit down meal. They have tables but the food is packaged to go, plastic utensils, wooden chopsticks. We stopped in on a Wednesday around 6pm and it was BUSY with in person orders and to-go orders. The staff isn't overly friendly but they are extremely efficient. We ordered 4 plates (Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, General Chicken, and Honey Glazed Chicken) and Veggie Egg Rolls. EVERYTHING was delicious, great quality, and large portions for a reasonable price. PARKING: They have a shared parking lot but you won't have any problems finding a spot. BEER/WINE: No options in house but there's a tap house a few steps away.

I absolutely love this place! Whenever I'm in the area, I make it a point to stop here. I've been coming for about a year now and they never disappoint. The spicy Mongolian beef is so good, the portions are always generous, and the crab wontons are a favorite too. Honestly, everything is seasoned perfectly--no need for soy sauce. Consistently delicious food and always worth the stop!

Great value and food as always. Keep them prices low and portions high! Very happy with this restaurant.

The steamed rice that came with 2 a la carte entrees (takeout)
    Alma S.

Overall, I give this place a 3.5. Got some takeout for dinner on a Monday night. Customer service for the phone order and pick up was standard. We ordered a la carte Orange Chicken, General Tsao Chicken, and House Fried Rice. We were surprised to hear it would be ready so quickly in 5-10 minutes. Reviews tout the generous portion sizes, but we were still in shock at the weight of our order! So much chicken & so much steamed rice!!! The fried rice completely filled the container and was molded into the shape of the lid! We seriously weighed the fried rice and it was over 3.5 pounds! The food was good and satisfying. There were lots of nicely cooked proteins in the rice, but it would have been nice to find more veggies too. The chicken dishes weren't over battered. However, the sauces were mild tasting & looser in consistency (versus being more like glazes that coat the meat, which I prefer).

It was raining hard, friends were over, and we were hungry for some dinner. We decided to get take-out and have it delivered. Yes, it is a hefty upcharge for delivery, like anywhere, but it is worth the convenience. We also decided on Chinese, but frankly in our opinion there are very few quality places around these parts. After seeing reviews for this place, we decided to try it, and we're glad we did. The menu is quite extensive, yet you soon realize that there are the same variations of dishes for chicken, pork, beef, and shrimp, with some exceptions. One of us does not eat pork, and another can't eat spicy (not me), but we were able to still make a good selection to satisfy everyone. We decided on the largest 'family style' order, 4 entree choices, one side, and rice. For the entrees, we got chicken and veggie, basil chicken (spicy), black bean beef, and green been shrimp. For the side, chow mein. This appears to be a fast food, order at the counter type establishment, and family owned, apparently not a chain. The quality of everything was surprisingly very good, and the green bean shrimp a standout with everyone. The shrimp were lightly coated and succulent. All of the vegetables used in each dish were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Everything was flavorful and not greasy. The spice level was not as intense in the basil chicken as I would like it, but I should have asked for extra spice. The noodles in the chow mein were so delicious and flavorful I could have eaten that alone, lightly sauced with onions. We were both surprised and very pleased, plus the fact that the portions are enormous. There were two containers of each dish. The delivery went so smoothly, and everything arrived in time, well packaged, and boxed. One thing is for certain, I will go to this restaurant again for Chinese food.

I say that at somebody who eats Chinese food all the time and whose family has been in the business. The beef chow fun had zero "wok hei". Wok hei is when the noodles are a bit charred and you can taste the heat of the wok. These chow fun noodles had no char at all. In fact the uncooked soy sauce was pooled at the bottom of the serving dish. The beef had zero char either. The chicken with salted fish fried rice was way over-salted. Salted fish by its nature is already salty. You don't need to add a ton of soy sauce and salt. To make matters worse the rice was undercooked and hard. The bok choy with garlic was just awful. You're supposed to use baby bok choy. What they used was chopped up pieces of giant old stalks of bok choy. It was clear that they just boiled the pieces and then barely stir fired them. The result was the bok choy was tough and flavorless. One of our party had chow mein as part of the daily special. The noodles were basically mushy with zero wok hei and no taste. Detective a pattern here? We had a couple of other dishes and they were equally bad. Needless to say, this is one restaurant I'm going to avoid in the future.

Moo Goo Gai Pan is an Americanized version of a Cantonese dish, Chicken with Mushrooms. Chang Bros prepares a stir fry of sliced chicken breast with a bounty of vegetables: mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, snow peas, bamboo shoots, and red bell pepper. I enjoyed it. A comfort food. Mild flavor. Good size portion. I was in a food coma shortly thereafter. With the lunch special, you have your choice of Hot and Sour Soup or Egg Drop Soup. Although the Hot and Sour Soup doesn't contain meat in it, it has a meat based broth. The Egg Drop Soup had a few cubes of soft tofu. If you want flavor, go with the Hot and Sour. You also have your choice of Steamed Rice, Fried Rice, or Plain Chow Mein with lunch plates. The fried rice was plain, a soy sauce rice dotted with peas, carrots, and egg. Table includes salt and pepper shakers, and I was given a tray with sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard. I wonder if they offer hot chili sauce. The next day, I decided to order Beef with Broccoli, the Wednesday $10 special, to go. I think it's enough to feed 2 or 3 adults, so it is a good bargain. Broccoli was savory. Beef was tender, but lacked flavor. Just add some soy sauce, and you'll be fine. I was given 2 soy sauce packets with my To Go order. Chang Bros cooks to appeal to the demographic, so the food tends to be conservative in flavor. If you want spicy, try requesting for that. I think seasoning to taste is a great option if you are watching your salt intake or are sensitive to salt. Chang Bros is off Stanford Ranch Rd in the same plaza with Celestino's and Boba Lane.
