Our normal HVAC company was a no-show on an emergency call back. We found Prime Performance (Matt) on Yelp. He agreed to come out promptly (when most companies never answered), and arrived in about an hour. He was not only able to fix our emergency with ease, he also identified (with proof) that our normal HVAC company was not doing the routine cleaning that we have been paying them to do for more than 4 years. It was quite shocking, but he said that sadly he sees this all the time. His emergency rate was more than fair, he is a fantastic tech, and good conversation as well. We would not hesitate to call Matt again. Nice, genuine business owner. Note to homeowners who carry maintenance plans with HVAC companies. Check the fine print on your membership inspection points. Ask them directly if they are inspecting or cleaning the evaporative coils, checking evaporative drain pan, checking evaporative drain pipes, and cleaning the blower assembly. If these services are not included in your maintenance plan, change companies. These components are critical to furnace/AC health. Our entire emergency situation was caused because our normal HVAC company was not inspecting our evaporative coil components and a clog built up over years, causing our drip pan to overflow and water leak all over our basement. Matthew was very responsive and straightforward with me and my tenant! On a Friday morning around 9:30am, the heat in my rental stopped working! Needless to say, my tenant in CO (I'm in NY) was quite frustrated. By 11:30am Matthew had responded to my call and confirmed a plan forward, despite being booked all day. By Saturday afternoon, the furnace was fixed and all was well. Matthew provided concerns about the almost-20-year-old furnace, and made sure I wanted to pay for the quick fix that Saturday, knowing I'd have to replace additional, larger parts sooner than later. I paid 50% for the job and then he no showed 4 times over a two week period. Finally had to hire someone else to do the work after expenditure of time and money. When I asked for some of the money back that I paid, he sent this threatening text in response: "Do not contact me again I will get police involved as well I will be reporting you to the city for no permit on the job [for the record I did have a permit] You are no man of god [I happen to be a pastor] and I will let everyone on social media and every way possible know what kinda person you are. You are a bad person and I would be ashamed to go to a church you taught in being how you are a liar wait until your church finds out. Also I need to be paid for the Ducting I was never paid for it and have witnesses [This is a lie. I paid him $500.]" All I did was ask for a receipt for the expenses of the ducts so I could get some of the money back. Matt might do fine HVAC work, though I wouldn't know. But, as a business owner, my experience is that he has little regard for his customers' calendar, communication and he has a threatening temper. I can't recommend him. read more

Update:: never mind. I spoke with him about the leak continuing and he said he would be out the next day to get information off the units to help obtain new parts under warranty. He never showed, never called. I would have understood if he had called and explained if he couldn't or didn't want the work, but I can't recommend someone that just no shows. Matt came out the day I called him to check out our a/c unit. After checking possible causes, he was very honest about the possibility there is a leak in the system (it's not even 2 years old) and that it might be difficult to trace it. However, he would do all he could to help us with the warranty, if it came to that. We are not the original owners and so we do not know who installed it. Fingers crossed it stays charged, but in the event it doesn't, I feel confident Matt will do all he can to get us cool and comfortable again. He even has a scale to show his customers how much refrigerant he used so you know what you're paying for. I would recommend his service to anyone looking for trustworthy, knowledgeable, timely HVAC service! read more

Summary: Impossible to recommend a service provider that doesn't show and won't respond. Our AC went out so we called Matt from Prime who had serviced our heater this past winter. We called at 8am on Thurs and he showed up pretty quickly at around 10am. Looked the AC over and said the blower was out and he would be back at the same time on Friday (around 10am) to fix it. We thought the blower going out was odd, since that was the part he replaced on our heater in the winter. Whatever, we figured we would just ask about it when he showed up. My wife waited around all day Friday, but Matt didn't show. Around 2pm she texted him to see when he was going to come over. He responded that he was busy and he would call later. Never called. Saturday I texted him (as we sweltered in the 97 degree heat) to see when we could schedule his visit. He immediately responded with a question on what client I was. We texted back and forth until he was clear on what client I was and that he had diagnosed a blower problem. Once he figured out who we were....radio silence. Wife texted him at 7:30am Monday to see if we could get on his schedule. More silence. Finally gave up around 1pm and called another company that had good reviews on Yelp. They had a tech out in 2 hours who fixed our AC in about 1.5 hours. Turns out it wasn't the blower, just a connected part that had shorted. Overall, the complete lack of communication (he still hasn't responded at the time of this writing) and disregard for his clients time (for the no show) means we would never recommend his service. read more

I called Matt after reading glowing reviews on my local neighborhood group. Prime was the third HVAC company that came to my house in three years. We had old air compressors (like 20 years) and another company had told us the only way to get them to work was to spend $3,000 to fill them with coolant. That's what we did last year. We had AC for maybe a month before it failed again. Another company had told us that we needed to redo our HVAC. Take the walls down and re-route it. That was a good idea except that's exactly what we had done when we bought our house the year prior. We spent $15,000 on that. Our experience with the others was less than stellar. And expensive. I was desperate, our AC had failed and it was 90F. I had left a message on Matt's voice mail and wasn't even sure he'd call back. My experience: Matt called me straight away. He said he was booked up for two weeks, but wanted to help. He had me email a few photos of our furnaces and old, failing air compression units. We agreed that they needed to be replaced. He then made time to come, just three days later. Matt and his team worked on installing new compression units for 6 hours in 90 degree heat. They wouldn't so much as accept a glass of water. Super knowledgable and professional. They worked non-stop. They stayed until past dark. They flushed, ran and tested the units several times. They would not leave until everything was working perfectly! Matt texted me in the morning to make sure my family slept well. The new units are perfect and I don't think I'll have to worry about doing much to maintain. We have a 10 year guarantee. I wish I had found this company earlier! Strongly recommend. read more

Brilliant Service!!!! Last night our ac stopped working, and of course it happened just as the weather started getting warmer. This morning I called several HVAC companies with no luck, everyone was booked solid for the next few days. However, Matt, the owner of Prime Performance called me back, even though I didn't leave a message when I called him. And although he was booked for the day, he made time to work me in. Matt was professional and polite, a no nonsense, honest guy. He did the repairs in 15 minutes, and charged what I know to be fair. Additionally, he did a couple of other maintenance items for free. It was the coldest night of the year, at -17° F, my heater blower motor went out on me in the middle of the night. I called a lot of 24/7 HVAC companies, but none of them really wanted to come over at 3am when it's that cold outside. Matt, at first, tried to talk me over the phone on how to fix the problem, but there's no way to fix a blown motor over the phone. There was $150 trip charge to come out after hours,and another $150 surcharge for the distributor to open up a shop in the middle the night on a holiday. The price for the motor was $450. Therefore, the total for the job was $750. I have no frame of reference on whether this is a good price or not, I just knew that I had to get it done in the middle of the night otherwise my family would freeze to death. I was a little dismayed that he did not have the correct sleeve adapter to properly mount the motor on the night that I paid him, and that there was a blown fuse that he did not immediately have a replacement for. however, he did come back a couple days later after the holidays and fixed the problems. I will definitely keep his number handy for any of your future HVAC problems I have. read more

Very unprofessional. Tries to pressure sell his AC by claiming yours will die soon and he can save you money by selling an AC he just happen to have in his truck. Very slow service and took him 4 days just to fix a relatively simple and common problem. Definitely do not recommend or trust this Snake Oil salesman/technician, as he was also rude and unreliable, when he realises he cannot make a lot of money off you. That's when he starts not showing up, excuses of all kinds, and only showed up whenever he likes. If he stands to make a lot of money out of you, he would be nice. SENIORS BEWARE!! read more

Worst service we have ever experienced. Our swamp cooler broke so we hired this company to fix it. After taking a look Matt told us what the problem was, what parts would need to be replaced, and how much it would cost. At this point we were happy with Prime HVAC but unfortunately that's where our satisfaction ends. He then informed us he needed to go purchase the parts and would be back shortly. Three to four hours later instead of him returning to fix it his "employees" did and told us they weren't sure if it was fixed right. It was making the same strange noise it did right before it broke. We paid the bill in full because the parts were already purchased and installed, and work was performed. We assumed if there was any further problems they would make sure we were taken care of since they had such great ratings. Ha The next morning they came back like they said they would to check and make sure it was running correctly and it seemed to be working at the time so they left. We had given an additional $150.00 tip for double checking to make sure we were all set. Later that day it stopped working-same problem as before which he blamed on the bearings he had replaced were bad, ok whatever. We called to let him know it still wasn't fixed and that we needed him to come back to see what was wrong with it. He told us he would return at 9:30 the next morning to fix it. As 10:45 rolls around we called him to see why he wasn't back. He was extremely rude and said he had another customer scheduled that morning and had to be there at 6AM. At this point he started having a major attitude acting like we messed it up or something and said he could be our that afternoon to look at it. When asking for a more specific time in the afternoon so we would be home he snapped fine F#*% it I'll be there in an hour. Completely unprofessional if you ask me after we paid $800 for a $650 job When he came back to fix it he didn't say one word to us and just went up to our roof to fix it. He then left without speaking to us so we ended up having to flag him down after he left to find out the verdict. He said it was fixed now and should run properly and that he would be right back to test it and make sure. Never heard a word from him again. We were relieved to finally have our house cool now and were not even going to write a poor review because we just glad to have it fixed and be done with the whole frustrating situation. However, today, about one week later it started making a loud clanking noise and then quit yet again. We even had asked in the beginning of it would be better to replace the whole unit (as we could have afforded to do so). He told us that was unnecessary and would have been way more expensive. We were told we just need about 3-4 parts replaced and it would run like a new one. Now we have to pay someone else to come fix or replace it correctly. So very disappointed in the way they treated us as customers and out of a lot of money for absolutely nothing but headache. read more

Matt installed our AC several years ago for a great price. He and his helpers were fantastic. Stayed late into the night until the job was complete. (I think most repair guys would have left and come back the next day.) Fast forward a couple years. Come home on a HOT Sunday day to find our AC not working. Horror of all horrors!!!! Called Matt and he answered. Oh happy day! So many companies don't work on Sundays. He arrived at our house in a timely manner. He instantly recognized the problem and had nothing to do with the unit he installed. He got our AC up and running temporarily until he could get the needed part and come back. This was HUGE to us as we can't sleep when it's hot and our house felt like a sauna. He was back the next morning, sooner than expected (no waiting around all day) and fixed it quickly. At 12:30am, after flying across the country I found myself without heat and the furnace struggling to engage. It's was 55 degrees in my house. I called 12- 15 so called 24/7 operations to find that none were open and were managed by answering services outside of Colorado. My last call I contacted Prime Performance and was surprised to be greeted by Matt, the owner and operator. Matt took note to my issues and asked if I could make it until morning. First thing in the am, Matt stopped by to analyze the issues and made a run for parts. Came back fixed the problem. Later than evening ran into the furnace having additional issues, un be known to Matt nor myself, my furnace had bigger problems. Yesterday, I called Matt around 11 am. He answered right away and as I don't know anything about furnaces I gave the phone to my better half. Next thing I know, Matt is at our door. He immediately knew what was wrong and fixed it right on the spot, he even had the part with him. He told us that he had actually taken the day off but we were so close, he figured he might as well stop by and check it out. He is ridiculously friendly, professional and quick.
