After moving into my recently purchased house, I needed to have the furnace and a/c cleaned. The furnace and a/c are only four years old, but the previous owners apparently rarely cleaned, were smokers, and had animals. I asked a journeyman electrician friend for a recommendation knowing that he often wires furnaces and a/c systems, and he immediately recommended Erives Heating and Air. I called and was able to easily get an appointment within six days. The technician, Coco, arrived as scheduled and was very friendly. He explained what he was going to do, asked if I had any preliminary questions, and then went straight to work. When he finished, he showed me how to operate all the different components since I am new to the house and the system has some accessories. He explained in detail what he did during the cleaning, including cleaning and checking the electrostatic air cleaner and UV light. He removed the electrostatic air cleaner inserts and showed me how to clean them and told me how often. Due to a snow storm and low temperatures, Coco was unable to service the a/c system, but we scheduled a future date to return to do that. Update: Coco came back out and cleaned and checked the a/c system with the same professionalism as with the furnace. He even went as far as to verify the correct part number for a replacement accessory with his supplier to ensure I was purchasing the correct part. He didn't have to do that, but he went out of his way, which shows his character well. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service and professionalism of Coco from Erives. I plan on using Erives and requesting CoCo for any HVAC needs I have in the future or if I need a contractor recommendation if they don't perform a specific service. read more

The techs were nice enough but I hate when someone tries to hustle me. Had them out to look at our furnace and was told it wasn't to code and the flue pipes needed to be reconfigured, all for the low price of around $800, and that was after the $100 service feel I had to pay just to get them there. I got a second opinion on the furnace from a company who certified that the unit was totally up to code and the flue pipes were positioned just fine. GE might be great at work that IS needed, but you should get a second opinion. read more

Absolutely AWFUL! They installed a new unit in our house and they left without even finishing the job! Because we requested an inspection from the Power Company they returned to finish the job. However, 16 months after the installation we had problems with the AC and went through the entire summer without it. After multiple estimates from other companies and paying a visit fee 4 times total, we had to come up with an extra $3.000.00 because this horrible Company GE Heating & Air didn't used the proper air ducts and didn't install an extra return air vent needed for the equipment to work properly. They should lose their HVAC license! $13.000.00 paid for a very bad job. We only hired them because we wanted to give a small business a chance, but GE Heating & Air doesn't deserve any business! I called Erives to have the furnace cleaned and checked and the a/c checked going into summer. Two guys came out. They said they found seven gas leaks, improper venting of the entire hvac system, and major deficiencies in the duct work. They recommended emergency repairs, and rebuilding several ducts and vents totaling over $5,000. They did not clean the furnace or check the coolant on the a/c. I paid $60 for their diagnostics which took about an hour. I called another licensed hvac contractor and a licensed plumber to get second opinions on the hvac work and the gas lines. The plumber found only one very minor gas leak, which was fixed for $150. The hvac guys found no additional gas leaks and a few minor problems with the system. They fixed everything in less than two hours for $290, which included cleaning the furnace and recharging the a/c coolant. When Erives called to follow up, I explained what had happened and asked for a refund of the $60. I was told that a manager would call me within 24 hours to review the situation and discuss my issues and possibly issue a refund. I've now waited five days. No one has called so--as I told the lady who called to follow up--this is the Yelp review of what happened. I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions. read more

No complaints. They installed a gas furnace 5 years ago and it's still going strong. Best price among 3 quotes. Recently had a service/checkup for $119. The tech was very communicative and pointed out some things I could do to improve the life of the furnace and gave me some tips about my AC unit which was installed by another company. Absolutely awful. Their repair men are actually sales people. We called knowing exactly what the problem was. We had a small hole in the coil that needed to be repaired and we needed the coolant filled. Their "repair man" said it'd be over $2,000 just to get to the point of determining if they could fix the hole or not. And then we would need to pay for coolant. He talked down to me for about 20 minutes about how our unit is in such bad shape we should just replace it. I called another licensed HVAC company and was able to get hole repaired and coolant filled for $500. AC unit now works perfect even in this 95 degree heat. I recently got 3 quotes for a new furnace installation and Erives was by far the best price. While that's usually enough to get a good rating, they were so much more than a competitive offer. They were the only company to notice that my air conditioning condenser coil was leaking onto my furnace. I checked it out after it was removed and saw that it was only a matter of time before my heat exchanger was rusted through. Erives replaced my condenser coil at FAR less than competitors and also installed a new humidifier and two extra heat runs to my basement. They moved my furnace back 6 inches on my request to expose a floor drain and even removed a live mouse from my window-well! I would NEVER recommend Erives and wish I had chosen someone else for my boiler replacement! I needed to upgrade my boiler in order to meet Boulder's new energy standards for rental properties. Coco gave a good impression while giving his original quote but ultimately turned out to be very unpleasant to work with. He was really rough with my old house and caused a crack in the bathroom wall and a crack the shower joint - that leaked water into my crawl space. He left after the initial install without hot water to bathroom sink but begrudgingly came back to repair. Generally the work was really messy and he was resistant to accepting responsibility for his collateral damage. The office called repeatedly for payment even when issues weren't resolved. Stay away from this company and avoid the headache!!!! read more

This shop royally screwed up our rental unit when they tried to install a hot water heater. Do not allow these guys to sell you on items outside heating and air. They forgot to bag the smoke detector in our unit when smoldering the hot water heater, and flooded the entire first floor of our unit with 3 inches of water. It's now 2 weeks after the accident and we're still having electrical issues from the water. Yes, they filed an insurance claim and that helps, but the entire fiasco has been a huge source of stress for my family. The owner failed to apologize, and instead told me he was losing money on the deal. No ethical compass here for a small business. Buyer beware. read more

First off My A/C was not blowing cool air for three days. I called Erives on Friday afternoon and asked for the earliest appointment. The receptionist who was very polite indicated that Monday might be the earliest appointment due to the high demand of service calls. A few minutes later she called back to let me know that they were going to slide me in to an appointment on Saturday afternoon. The HVAC tech "Coco" called 20 minutes prior to let me know he was on his way. He isolated the problem within minutes of trouble shooting the issue and repaired my A/C unit after 20 minutes. In late 2018 I had my old 1998 furnace tuned up to find out the motor and heat exchanger were both bad, and a technician showed me that it was blowing more Oxygen than it should. It only becomes more hazardous when it blows carbon monoxide, and given it was such an old system I realized I needed to replace the entire furnace. Gilbert quoted me the best price on a new furnace, lower price than three other companies quoted me, and he even included a brand new wifi honeywell thermostat with it. His technicians came promptly and now I have a new Lennox system that runs quietly and efficiently like it should. I couldn't have gotten a better deal than this, and he realized this was adequate and reasonable for a small condo. I'd only need to pay for a larger, more expensive system for a larger house. I feel so fortunate that I got such a deal for this essential home improvement. This will last as long as I own my unit, which I hope will be a long time. read more

He fixed our AC right away, saving us from having to run away to a hotel since the temps were 100+ today. My furnace stopped heating properly and kept getting shut off due to an open limit. He came out several times in the process of troubleshooting the issue until we finally nailed it down to a dying blower motor. He came out promptly and installed the new blower and everything has been running wonderfully since! They are punctual and prices are reasonable. After having dealt with other, more shady, heating and air technicians, Erives was a welcome relief and I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

We had our new furnace installed about 3 years ago after our old one decided to stop working on a frigid late autumn night. Called them in the morning, they showed up that same day to take a look on our furnace and recommend for us to replace our 20 years old furnace. They moved around their schedule to give us priority because it's gonna be freezing 30°F the next day and it would be bad if we don't have heater in the house. They showed up the next morning, replaced our old furnace, and our house become warm again. And we are happy. Definitely will use this company again in the future. read more

As a landlord the last thing you want to hear is that your tenants are without heat....especially in the winter when it's cold and a big storm is expected to hit the next day! I have used other HVAC companies in the past, but the company I normally use didn't answer when I called. A friend had used Gilbert for their furnace repairs and they had nothing but good things to say, so he was my next call. He answered at 6:45am and offered to check out the furnace right away at no charge. Turns out the board was bad (an expensive repair) and so told me about all the options for repair vs replacement, associated costs and the timelines to complete for each option. I called several other HVAC companies to get some comparable prices and the original bid was the cheapest by several hundred dollars. Given the time constraints, age of the unit, and desire to keep my tenants warm, I elected to go with a new Lennox furnace. They were also the only company I called that could install it the same day. The team was very courteous - laying drop cloths over all the carpeting from the front door to the mechanical room to ensure no dirt was tracked onto the carpet and then they went to work right away. Within a few hours everything was finished, the tenants were happy and the house was warm! I cant say enough great things about the service I received. Delivers. I researched systems, then vendors. I narrowed the list down to three, and interviewed the three vendors and received the three estimates. Gilbert was not the most expensive nor the least, but he exuding a confidence in his company and his products that was just charismatic. So, I took his bid. And, his confidence was and is justified. His staff arrived on time, did the installation carefully and professionally -- and where an original measurement was off, called Gilbert and he simply had them upgrade the installation design at no extra charge to me -- and then reviewed the system operation, again carefully and precisely. The A/C purchase and installation was delayed until spring. Again, the Erives team showed up on time (and in the chill), again did a careful and professional installation, again reviewed all the work with me, and then set up a summer tune up time to assure that the refrigerant was actually at the proper levels. Gilbert sent Matt to do that job, and again with the usual professionalism and graciousness. I have a first class HVAC system and I have a first class contractor for support and maintenance. One final note, and it's the small stuff that illuminates: I have dogs. The Erives staff invariably made sure that any gates they used to access the yard were closed and locked upon job completion. This company is really as good as it gets. Gilbert and his crew have gone well above and beyond all my expectations. Let's start from the top: you're reading this review because you're in research state, right? Just like you, I've asked for recommendations, gone online, and made a myriad of calls. I must've received quotes from at least a dozen different companies and contractors. Since HVAC work is expensive, and that oftentimes your life quite literally depends on it, it's not an easy decision that could be done in a haste. The equipment in my house was 20 years old and was rapidly coming apart. Just the number of repairs I had in recent years would've justified a replacement. The builders really did a poor job of it, and it was time to finally bite the bullet and toss it. Get this done before the winter arrives. A couple of contractors came close to Erives in pricing, but none were able to match them on service. It starts with a simple stuff: you know, when you call or email a company and nobody is willing to either pick up or schedule a time that works for you? Or when you have a question and it takes them forever to respond? That's a harbinger of things to come - such company will ignore you when you need help pronto (like when it's Christmas, your heat is out, and your kids and pets are freezing). Erives is a polar opposite of such company: Gilbert, the owner, is really attentive to your needs and will make sure to accommodate them. He responds nearly immediately (!) and it's always a straight and complete answer. He is very punctual, which by itself is a rarity, too. On pricing itself, Gilbert was able to get me a better deal than everybody else on top of the line equipment. (The mid-level equipment was pretty close across the board.) They are amazing installers, very meticulous and professional. Special thanks to Coco and Adam who helped me figure out the paperwork and the system itself. I can only wish there were more companies like Erives. We go through our daily lives inundated with time- and money-consuming stuff on daily basis. I contacted Erives for furnace repairs based on the Yelp reviews and the information I read on their website. Let me say that I could not be more pleased with this company. Eli is extremely courteous and let me know what he was doing and approximately how long it would take. He needed to secure the part to repair my furnace, but was able to provide a safe, temporary fix to get heat in my house until he returned. Eli provided me with the repair cost and estimated time he would return before his departure. He called before he returned to let me know he was on his way, had the repair completed within 5 minutes of his arrival and made no changes to the repair cost provided earlier even though the part was more costly than had been anticipated. That is amazing customer service to me. From my first contact with Erives' office to saying thank you as Eli left this afternoon, the whole experience was quite painless. Very expensive. I scheduled an AC cleaning and check for the summer. Technician found that the contactor was failing. In addition to the full cleaning fee of $119, I had to pay another $275 for replacing the contactor. Looking online, the contactor part should cost far less than $100. Their part replacement pricing includes the visit, so it would have been $275, regardless if they were already there for a cleaning. So I was out $394 total that day. Called the office, feeling I was overcharged and they disagreed. Very expensive. read more
