They couldn't troubleshoot because the error code was not present when they visited. However, I had told them the error code was not present when I called, so I don't understand why they didn't say "call us back when the error code comes back". Also, I told them the brand of boiler when I called, and they sent a technician who had never worked on this brand before. The technician felt bad that he was charging me for nothing and tried to get the trip charge waived, but the Precise office said no. So they get two stars instead of one because the tech was trying to make up for his company's poor policy.

He arrived at the house in 50 minutes. Turns out my condenser was clogged and dirty. He could have raked me over the coals and charged me huge money and I'm sure I would have paid it today no questions asked. He was honest, knowledgeable and really customer service oriented. My charge was way below what I was expecting at $200.00 for his drive time and at the house, I'm guessing total time 1.5-2 hours. I found him on the internet and he had a 5 star rating, that is the reason I picked his company. He now is my go to guy and have is company stickers on the refrigerator, condenser and furnace. Thank you Tonville HVAC and Ben!!!

I found the compressor online for $600 new. I bought the part and unfortunately had them install it. Should of been a 1-2 hour job but James the technician dragged it out for 4 hours and I was charged $1,200. I told them that was outrageous and didn't want to sign it. James told me my signature was just to verify he had to add freon and he was there. They sent me the bill with my signature and told me I already agreed to pay it. Pretty shady in my mind. I would buy a new freezer before I ever let these guys on my property again. It would be much cheaper.

We had 5 other HVAC companies bid on installing a 9k BTU mini-split/heat pump and to replace our…read morewater heater. We chose (poorly) Apple Aire based on price, experience, and friendliness. It started out with them missing the initial consultation appointment. I blocked off 2 hours, as they requested, and nobody came. I had to contact them to reschedule. Mini-split: The proposed placement of the external unit was altered upon installation. Not what I had agreed upon, but what could I have done? I helped the installer move some furniture so he would have space to install the head unit. Once completed, he moved them back himself. Ok, fine. But he didn't clean up. We have plaster walls and the plaster was everywhere. I even put a broom and dustpan next to the work space so at least *I* would be able to quickly clean up. Yet, we didn't realize that he didn't clean up until my wife felt plaster in the bed and on the floor that night. Since the furniture was moved back, we assumed he had cleaned. Nope. Unit works fine, but leaked on the inside (on plaster, floor, furniture) from day one. The drip hose outside wasn't installed properly, pushed water back in. The installer came back, cut the hose, and loosely placed it on the basement egress. It didn't work. I manually drained the hose outside every so often for 4 days. Not fun at night. Sleepless nights, especially combined with the water heater fiasco. Water heater: The pilot light would not stay lit while the installers were here. After many attempts of lighting it, then it going out, they just left and said if it continues to call them. I called them the next day--after I tried lighting it several times; they came out and couldn't figure out why it kept going out, but finally it stayed lit. Then it went out again. So they sent the manufacturer's rep. What he (not Apple Aire) noticed was that: 1) The new tank was installed in such a way that the internal access point was facing the wall. So, they came back out and rotated the tank; 2) They cut an old copper drain pipe from the floor, and the remainder was sticking out, making the drip pan they placed over it not level, thus negating its purpose. 3) The venting needed adjustment and, as a safety precaution, the tank would extinguish the pilot light. When it stayed lit, the heat built up enough to start melting plastic rings on the tank. The space became overheated. Gas leak? Maybe, but who really cares? Again, the manufacturer pointed all of this out; 4) No expansion tank was installed. As with the mini-split, the work area was not cleaned. Bits of metal and screws were laying around, even under the tank. AND, either when they turned off the main water, or turned it back on, they opened the wrong valve. Our irrigation system is connected to city water. We've never used it as we have access to ditch water. So, it's been off for at least 10 years. Once they opened it, the pressure shot off the cap outside and created a water jet shooting down into our yard, right next to the foundation. I noticed it as I was walking them out and heard a water jet sound. I (and they) found the water drilling a hole ~2 feet deep. The mud from this drilling filled the adjacent irrigation valve box, covering all components in water, mud, dirt. How they can throw the wrong valve is beyond me; it's pretty easy to spot the incoming pipe. I have to replace the cap for that external pipe. No permits were pulled prior to installation. Since then, they've been pulled, but no inspections yet. The owner(?) came out to fix things. To his credit, he was disappointed. But, he got paid. And we're out thousands of dollars.

Extremely disappointing experience, absolutely avoid!!! If…read moreyou want to be completely disrespected as a woman, spoken to in a deeply condescending manner, and treated as if you couldn't possibly understand basic technical issues, then this is the company for you. They charged us for an inspection that was clearly not done properly, pushed us to replace perfectly functional parts at nearly 10 times the market price, and literally laughed in my face while telling me my HVAC system was "shitty" and needed to be replaced. Three days later, the system had another issue because they completely failed to identify the actual problem. We were then pushed yet again toward more interventions and more part replacements by a manager who had never even seen the HVAC system himself and could only give vague explanations about what the issue "could" be. When I later requested my file, pictures, and full documentation from the visit, nothing was ever sent. No transparency whatsoever. We finally contacted another amazing company ALTITUD BRO HVAC-- which I strongly recommend -- and unlike UHCPC, they actually inspected everything properly. They identified the issue immediately and charged us only $400 for something that probably would have cost us over $2,000 with UHCPC. What a joke. And the funniest part? They're apparently just as bad with plumbing. We worked with them in the past on another property and, after charging us over $20,000, not only were they unable to properly fix the issues, but they also damaged one of our showers. Matt Robledo, the owner, even told us he had to fire his plumber Dave because "he was not good" and promised us compensation or future repair credits. Of course, none of that ever happened. Once they take your money, they seem to forget your name very quickly.
