I was test driving the most affordable Prius within reason and Freddy lied to me and said he has a Prius with recent maintenance on his lot. He didn't send any pictures asked if there were any other kinds of cars I'd be interested in- I was explicit, polite but direct and said no. I want a Prius. He then lied to me and said someone is test driving it now. I told him I'll be there in an hour, kick em out it's sold. I arrived and that's when I met Thomas. Clueless to the buffoonery Freddy was up to, he asked "Can I help you?" To which I introduce myself, hello, I'm Carter. I'm here to meet with Freddy for a Prius.. and that's when I knew my time was wasted. Poor Thomas wasn't in on the buffoonery and it's a shame his business is being tarnished by people with a reputation like Freddy. I pulled the advertisement from their website showed Thomas and it turns out they sold that Prius last month and Freddy was blowing smoke up my ass- likely why he wanted to know if there was anything else id be interested in... Manic Motors surprised us a couple times in very unexpected ways and made us return customers for…read morelife. First surprise, extended selection. We saw two vehicles online but ended up test driving and considering four. They have new vehicles coming in just as fast as they're selling them. BMW, Mercedes, Tesla, Dodge, GMC - they will likely have what you're looking for. For us, we're a Tesla family through & through. Can't beat the reliability and cost of ownership on top of the increasingly pampering features being auto-updated every year. They had at least a dozen Teslas on their lot, and more off-site. Their selection is like digging into Mary Poppins bag, they just keep pulling out so much more than you expect. Second surprise: Paul Paul was courteous and knowledgeable, as expected, from the start. He showed us the two vehicles we saw online, about 6 more that looked great, and even a couple models that we weren't even planning on considering - again, great selection. Manic Motors was our very first stop in our car shopping adventure and, despite the great prices, I could not allow myself to be 'sold' at my first stop - just a personal conviction in life. We left Manic Motors in hopes of finding more great offers elsewhere. This is where Paul surprised us. He cautioned us about being aware of some shady practices but wished us well in our search. Come to find out, Paul was absolutely right TWICE with two separate dealerships - one had promised a particular feature online & over the phone, but couldn't fake the Carfax report, the other dealership had almost no knowledge of Teslas (how to open the doors, calculate range at full charge, types of configurations, etc.) and were extremely pushy - even to the point of lying to our face. *** BAD REVIEWS on Livermore Toyota and Tracy Hyundai coming soon! *** But, back to Paul. Just before we discovered the 3rd dealership was ultra-pushy, we had messaged Paul that we found a vehicle that was a slightly better year and trim than what he had on his lot. He was gracious and congratulated us. We waited two days for this car and THEN we saw the ugly side of the 3rd dealership. Although our daughter liked this car a slight bit more than all the others we saw that week, I refuse to purchase anything from someone who disrespects my wife and daughter. Needless to say, we went back to Paul since they did have my daughter's very-close-second-place vehicle. Paul was amazing. He welcomed us back, gave us a great price, and made the buying experience pain-free. It's a different world today than it was when I was growing up. More and more difficult to trust people at their word these days. This was a hard lesson that Paul warned us about and it hit us immediately after leaving Manic Motors. Paul was genuine and up-front about the whole process, what he's able to do and what he couldn't. In a world where promises are often counterfeited, even from seemingly large & established businesses, it imperative to find someone you can trust. Paul and Manic Motors earned our trust and our future business. We'll be checking with them soon for Teslas for our soon-to-be-driving younger children. He is detail-oriented and is unwavering from being client-centered. Bob initially called me back and told me that what I was looking for (and at the time) would be very difficult to find. I was looking for a specific pick up truck in a pre-determined configuration. After three weeks of looking, he was able to locate one that was at an out of town dealership that I could easily get to. We made arrangements to see the truck and based on site and lack of other options, I bought the truck assured that it was the last truck in California with my specs. According to the dealer it had just arrived after being delayed in shipment and that future shipments were cancelled due to the world-wide microprocessor shortage. I had Bob review the specs. Bob already had me talk to my Credit Union for a pre-approved loan. The Dealership even talked to my credit union and brought down the APR from 3.02 to 2.9. I did end up paying for nitrogen in the tires and for the "installation" of the floor mats but marginal considering my diminished options. Anyway, Bob seemed to always be on the hunt for me and was very up to date about the goings on with the shipping and other details. He was easy to talk to and precise in what he had to say.
