Went with the recommendation of the Delmonico steak which was very good, cooked appropriately tender and tasty. I highly recommend this establishment. We just celebrated a family birthday here with 14 people and everything was perfect! We had the side room to ourselves, so we were able to decorate and walk around to chat with each other while we had drinks and shared appetizers. We ordered off the regular menu and everything was delicious. Our main server, Jimmy, was top notch. He made sure everyone had what they needed and did so with a smile. Lindsey was also helpful in checking in on us. We couldn't have asked for a better time and won't hesitate to celebrate another event here. read more

We had an excellent experience here last night celebrating my daughters birthday. Alex helped us to plan everything, and he and his staff were on top of everything all night long. The food was excellent, the private dining room was the perfect venue for a small party, and the service was A+. I would highly recommend Prime 82 for dinner or events to anyone. Yes I've rated this place 4 stars! We've been going to this restaurant for a quite some years now. We live locally. I've heard from others that it's "ok", but I enjoy this restaurant. We've also only gone for dinner service never lunch. Yes we've had wait staff that forgot drinks we ordered or maybe the food selection wasn't up to par that night. But on average I believe the food to be good. I agree the Delmonico steak is delicious and I always enjoy the chicken dishes, which are tender and flavorful. May I also recommend the calamari. I always get the pear martini. And it is a large martini not a wimpy one. I've proclaimed myself to be a martini snob:) And the maple old fashioned is great too! I have to say that I agree the prices are on the expensive side but hell thats the going rate for any decent restaurant- $20 to $30 an entree. Let's face it, you all complain it's expensive because it's location. If you paid the same price for a meal in Glastonbury or Mystic half as good you'd be like "oh this meal is a steal" And Hello! The casino is no bargain and the last couple times I've been recently the martinis were an utter disappointment. I feel this establishment allows you to enjoy your apps, drinks, dinner without being rushed. If you want a quick cheap dinner Friendly's is 1/4 mile down the road. In my opinion I find the food to be overall well executed and we will continue to enjoy coming here for dinner. I think it's one of the better places around without having to go near the casino. I thought the lunch menu was a little skimpy. My mom ordered the stuffed shrimp and was only given 2 medium shrimp a baked potato and just a few asparagus. The pirtions were very small for the price. I had a Caesar chicken wrap, which was very good, and my brother ordered the prime burger which looked amazing. I feel they need some healthier entrees that don't include pasta, stuffing or breadcrumbs, and maybe a house salad option instead of fries. The music was lovely but much too loud. I've been here a couple of times on business and the location is convenient to the Courtyard next door but i will have to find a better place to eat. The food is adequate but not memorable. I ordered The Smokehouse burger this time. It is advertised with Swiss cheese. It had no cheese. I mentioned it to the bartender who said no burgers come with cheese. Once she consulted the menu, she realized that in fact it did come with Swiss. Surprised that the kitchen had to be reminded. That is not a big deal. The biggest issue was the fact that I had to sit next to a group of very obviously intoxicated guests. The bartender served one of them which I was shocked would happen with the way the laws are now. The one girl who was part of the group was so trashed, she could not speak and spilled her glass. It was obvious that the staff knew them but felt it was more important to hang with friends than tell them to get a taxi and go home to sober up. I will find a nicer place to dine when I'm in town again. read more

This place is old and smells like they use to let people smoke in here. But the food and service were fine.

So we decided against going to a certain new pizza place and drove around till this place popped into my head. Full house when we walked in, so we found two seats at the bar. Nice interior, different from the days as a casino bar hangout. Good draft beer selection, drink list was well put together., the wine list was average, a few interesting selections. The menu was typical steakhouse with a nice burger section. I actually had a burger, big and juicy. My wife had great pasta dish. Bread service was just okay. The bartender had a good disposition, which made up for his shortfalls in service. We will definitely go back. Nice to have a decent non casino steakhouse local now. read more

Nice place, drinks were only $6 each and made well. We ordered salads with dinners. Two salads came fully dressed with lots of different veggies, I had to ask for the rest of the veggies to go with the lettuce they called a salad . they brought a bowl of veggies ,so I cold finish making my own salad. One in our table of 4 ordered the clam chowder. Chowder was not good at all and after 5 spoons she had to stop eating it. Meals arrive, the fully loaded potato was bare. I had to ask to get the loaded one. The new york strip ordered med rare came crispy and inedible. It was the last one they had. They offered to replace with the porterhouse. Steak arrives after everyone else has just about finished their dinner. The med rare Porter house was purple rare inside. The chicken and the veal Marsala were very good and the filet was avg. The mash potatoes where excellent. Not worth going out of the way. You must have a lot of time to wait for the food. Which was fine with us but be ready for the wait. lately ,I have been eating out often because of work and vacations. This place was the most disappointing based on my expectation. read more

The food was good, above average. The flatbread pizza was excellent. The service was very slow but otherwise good. The waitstaff came by my table and refilled my water glass about every 2 minutes but it took forever to get my bill at the end of the meal. Be careful leaving the restaurant. I tripped on the partial step just outside of the front door and nearly broke my leg...lol. They have a huge sign on the front door "Be careful of step" that I didn't even read. In spite of the posted sign, it is an obvious hazard. To me it looks like a slip-and-fall lawsuit just waiting to happen. read more

An absolute disappointment. Calamari appetizer was overcooked and rubbery. bacon wrapped scallops overly crispy. Waitress was ok the rest of the waitstaff clueless, tried filling full water glasses tried to clear plates before we finished the food on them then waited table side while we finished all the while leaving multiple empty cocktail glasses on the table. we figured they were running low on plates in the kitchen but had plenty of glasses. Rack of lamb was also over cooked. Everyone who likes lamb knows it should never be well done, except their chef, 4 small pieces of asparagus again overcooked. Jumbo stuff shrimp were stuffed just not jumbo. If you are going to charge fancy restaurant prices the food and the staff need to measure up. We should have gone to Ballo read more

This is a restaurant that my wife & I frequent often. Their steaks are fresh the fish is cooked to order and the staff sees to every need that you have. Alex and his brother are extremely gracious and treat their customers like family. I recommend their Ahi Tuna - fresh and priced very reasonable. It's a local restaurant where the locals congregate. I've been here a few times. It's a nice hotel restaurant the lives in a Marriott comfort inn. Tonight they were not too busy. The waitresses were attentive and very nice. The wife and I ordered drinks and the stuffed mushrooms appetizer. The dish came out with seven mushrooms the size of quarters or smaller. Very disappointing. Also one of the mushrooms came with a nice dirt flavor. My better half had the chicken Marsala and I had the smokehouse burger. The chicken was paper thin but had a decent flavor, asparagus (2) and baked potato. All tasted very good. The portion of chicken was small. The burger was fine the bacon was very good. The down side was my burger came out 10 minutes before the Marsala. It's okay we didn't want to eat together anyway. The waitress was very apologetic and brought a clam chowder. The Hamburger was so tasty earlier in the day. The Filet Mignon at dinner was tender and topped with delicious cheese and mushrooms. The Shrimp Scampi was perfect. The Pork Chop was immense. Came here for lunch. Waited 5 minutes to see an employee....thankfully I had looked at the menu online and knew what I wanted to order. A Steak salad (rare) and Fries.....27 minutes later I had to have it wrapped as I needed to return to work. We live over 100 miles away, but when we visit family who live in Lisbon, this is their favorite go-to place, and I know why . I had the ribeye finished with butter and a blue cheese topping and my wife had the chicken Parmesan and we can't remember the last time I had such a nice dinner with wine great service and at a fraction of the costs I would have spent in Fairfield county. Looking for a good dinner, my buddy and I thought that this place had promise. We chose poorly. We sat down at 6:45 on a FRIDAY. We waited 30 minutes for two appetizers (clams casino & buffalo wings). Do not order these appetizers! The clams casino were drenched in oil and the wings were super dry. Another 25-30 minutes later, after we had already ordered our steak choices while ordering our appetizers, the waitress comes and says they don't have the Porterhouse Steak (which is first on the list as well as most expensive). Another disappointment. Why would it take an hour for them to tell us they don't have our steak choice. Now, once getting our steaks, we both cut into them and they were blue. Extremely undercooked. I sent mine back but my buddy decided to keep his cause he felt bad and just ate around the edges. And to top it off, the ambiance and music were laughable. Highly disappointed and discouraged to know that is representing a steak restaurant. read more

Excellent meal and wait staff! Upscale but casual ambiance, they made us feel right at home. We had a large group (8) but had no trouble getting a table on a Saturday night before going out to the Mohegan Sun. The clams casino were done perfectly and bacon wrapped scallops as well. One of us had New England Chowder and loved it. Three of us had three different cuts of meat and all of them were great! Drinks were done well and generous. Our waiter Jimmy was excellent and rest of the staff was friendly and attentive. Service was horrible.. the moment we walked in the door till the end when we left... waited 10min for server to even come see if we wanted drinks, when we ordered an ice tea and black label on rocks took another 15min to arrive. And this was not their busy time. They were slow... food was missing main parts of the dish .. then the waitress argued that they make it different. If my wife orders a pasta dish -it should have pasta as stated on the menu... food had no flavor... waited a long time for server for various items. The booths also had what looked like 10years of dust on them. We will never go here again...... stay away... at this point you will have a better experience at the gas station across the street than you would at this place. read more

Alex was easy and agreeable, our server was attentive and on point (and pulled off the surprise smoothly!), the food and drinks were delicious, and the space for a party our size was just right. As a new resident to this part of the State, this is my new favorite restaurant!! We've been half a dozen times and every time is perfect. My favorite dish is the pan seared scallops, but I've had the steak, scampi and chicken francais, and all were excellent. I love that almost everything comes with asparagus - not a cheaper vegetable like most places - and the risotto changes daily and is always cooked perfect. read more

Visited on a Sunday evening for dinner, party of 6, made reservation well in advance, restaurant was NOT busy. 20 minutes passed before anyone spoke to us or brought water, nevermind a wine list or took a drink order. Two of the six salads didn't arrive until we tracked down our waiter in the restaurant and asked when they would be coming. The salad was a few sprigs of mixed greens and ONE slice of cucumber the size of a quarter. The creamy garlic dressing was more more like a spread it was so thick. No water refils, no potatoes for baked so three people had to change their request, two steaks ordered medium rare were both delivered medium WELL and one was nearly twice the size of the other. Only one dessert option and no offer to refill coffee ordered after the meal. The restrooms were horrible both upstairs and downstairs. One had a stack of cocktails napkins to be used for drying hands (better than nothing I suppose). Wine list had a nice variety and the food was fine (not amazing, but good). When you're charging $20-$28/plate, you MUST HAVE excellent service, staples in the kitchen that should always be available and clean restrooms. Will NOT be going there again. read more

We came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner over this past weekend... We ordered the shrimp cocktail to start, quite insulting, tiny, waterlogged shrimp at $2 a piece, still warm, really a disappointing start to our dinner, the pasta vodka came out cold, and mediocre tasting, my husband's steak was the only thing done correctly. The mixed drinks were decent, and the bread they served was the only good part of my meal. Would not return, as for what we were charged, the food definitely did not deliver. read more

So, we are here from out of town for a wedding, decided to check out a well reviewed steakhouse. My wife and myself were very pleased with the atmosphere and decor as well as the initial service. Our waitress was amazing and she was extremely helpful throughout our service. As for the food, we couldn't say enough about most of it! Clams casino, amazing! Shrimp cocktail, very well done. Even the shrimp scampi my wife got was great. Unfortunately I ordered the prime cut they have on their menu, being the 22oz porter house. Temp was spot on but the taste of char overwhelmed any seasoning that the steak had. This wasn't even my biggest issue for the night, considering the waitress did comp us a dessert for the mishap. My issue was with the manager, there was no conversation with him and he seemed to avoid our table following the minor complaint I had. I would've expected on such a slow night that he would've at least came over to our table to ask us about the issue. Although he seemed more interested in chatting with other customers and, what seemed obvious to me, avoiding our table. So I give the staff a 4.5 for the job they did despite the issue, but the manager a much less grade. Honestly I can get over a kitchen mistake but being obviously avoided was the icing on the cake for me. read more

Being residents of Norwich, my husband and I have eaten at Prime 82 many, many times and have never been dissapointed in the food, service, congeniality of all staff, and cleanliness. I can't imagine anyone writing a review about Prime and saying it is over priced and average and I question why anyone would dine anywhere four times if the first two experiences were not up to your personal standards!! The Prime 82 menu is filled with offerings to tease anyone's pallet and my personal favorites, the seafood brouchetta and seafood pie, are to DIE for. If I have any dissapointing comment to make, it would be they don't offer the Root Beer Float Martini any longer and that was such a delightful and unique experience to savor. read more
