My first time dining here was for my birthday and it was a horrible experience. I made reservations for two on open table for 7:30pm for Friday evening. I called to let them know I would be 15 mins late. They said no problem. When we arrived we were seated immediately. After we were seated the hostesses came over to let us know that due to us being 30 mins late we had to leave by 9:30, they needed the table for the next reservation. Very unprofessional because there were still several tables available. Our waiter was new and still in training. So we had two people working the table. It became a little annoying but between the two of them they tried their best to make sure we was okay and the orders were correct. So no problem. Drinks took forever to come and were ok. Ordered the calamari, had to send it back because it was cold. The second time the calamari was warm. So the "Executive Chef" came to the table to understand what the issue was. He told me he personally cooked the calamari and sent it right out. That was false because the food was not freshly cooked, it was cooked uneven ( looked like he heated up the food we sent back and added more to it) and was too chewy. The entree was okay and still the food was not hot. It was a little more than warm. We had steak medium well, lobster Mac and brussels sprouts. Eh the taste was okay. The servers could tell we were unhappy, we barely ate the food. So they offered to take off the calamari and 10% without us asking. Then I proceeded to let them know that no one acknowledged my birthday. When I made the reservations I included that with the notes. Guess the hostess dropped the ball on that but let us know we were late. So they offered us shots and we left out of there before 9pm. Upon us leaving the place was practically empty. The vibe there feels like I went to TGIFridays. Nothing special about the place. I guess all the hype that I hear must be friends and family reviews. For the price that charge, the quality of food and service isn't worth it. For me this definitely did not represent Black Excellence. I would not recommend this place for a special occasion. Maybe an expensive happy hour for drinks and eat some where else. read more

I went there for brunch. They do a pre fixe menu where you get a bottle of your choice and an entree. Half of the entrees listed on the menu have additional charges. All of the sides are $10 and not included with the pre fixe. They don't offer to go cups, so if you drink your bottle with your meal and don't finish it there's nothing you can do. We opted to leave our bottles sealed and take them home with us. Other people were drinking theirs in the restaurant and they don't provide additional glasses. They give you a straw to put in your bottle! The dress code is STRICTLY enforced. I saw someone get turned away for wearing Calvin Klein sweatpants. I got the peaches and cream French toast which was delicious and filling. The space is cute and very trendy. I think I only enjoyed it because it was only half full. If every seat was taken it would feel very cramped. The servers were good and the music was awesome. My biggest issues with this place was the management and the pricing. The music, while great, was way too loud. I asked for it to be turned down and so did other people. Our waitress said she had to ask the manager and then nothing happened. I had to lean over half the table and scream just to hear my friends. For 90 minutes, a bottle of white sangria, French toast, and a little bowl of home fries it came out to $90. I could've taken the train 2 more stops into Manhattan and gotten a lot more for a lot less. The good unfortunately doesn't outweigh the bad at this place. read more

I am giving 2 stars because the food was good, service was horrible. On behalf of my family, we all enjoyed the food. We went to Prime 39 for a Birthday dinner for my Mom. We maybe waited about 10 minutes for the waitress and that wasn't the issue. The issue was the Waitress (Name "Champagne") was RUDE. We were very courteous to her. I hardly ever come on Yelp to make a review but the owner and other people need to be aware. I asked her what would she suggest on the drink menu and her answer was "whatever you pick it's the same amount of liquor anyway." That alone should of been my hint to ask for a new waitress. I'm all for supporting Black businesses but we have to do better with the way we treat people that support. Now when it was time to pack our food to go we asked her prior on getting a bday slice of cake for my Mom, she had an attitude. I had to walk to the bar to bring drinks to our table since she never asked if we wanted anything else. She just wanted to serve another table and move us along. I felt like I was begging her to not only order another drink but to get dessert. Now my Mother's friend asked if she can try the carrot cake and she screamed at her how the kitchen is closed and I told y'all stop ordering extra stuff!!! Wait what? I'm so confused, it was not late and it was a slice of cake she was asking for. They have a late night menu as well but a slice of cake was nothing when other tables were just getting seated and ordering food. We ended up going to the bar and having to order with the bartender and bring our items to the table. She still Received a decent tip with gratuity included and I felt since she knew it was included her attitude was extremely poor from the time we sat down. Not only did we notice how rude she was, the table next to us agreed and said she has a nasty attitude OFTEN. Had I known this I would of asked for someone else from the beginning. Why have someone representing your restaurant treating people like this? Service was probably the worst I've had by far! read more

I love supporting us! If you know, you know. Truly an excellent evening dining at the bar reconnecting with a friend on a Friday evening. Why the bar, because reservations are HIGHLY recommend. We started with Rose' then dove right in to appetizers (we were famished). The lamb chops were simply tasty and tender. Salad had a lot of texture and high on freshness I loved the crisp cucumber and the plating was perfectly orchestrated. We also had fried calamari it was ok, needed an batter adjustment, nevertheless we had a few bites. Then, my friend had the lobster mac and cheese I ordered the sweet potato casserole did I need it ? NO. It was just the right way to end the night. Must visit again as the ambience is chic and modern. Shout out to Rocky for checking in and ensuring each guest was having a great time. the food is ok but its too damn loud with the music. I had to scream at the waitress for my order.

If I can zero stars I would. Absolutely terrible. One of the worst steaks I've ever had in my life. My family and I all got sick. Buyers beware!! Go to Taco Bell your better off. Even better White Castle. Management didn't even know how to handle the situation when my steak looked like it was still Moo-ing. And was put together with plastic. Let's not talk about the hour wait for this $140 dollar steak to only end up sick. Every single family member. Ribeye - best steak ever had the weirdest flavor I've ever tasted. read more

We didn't have a reservation but the manager was a sweetheart and let us sit due to a cancellation. However she gave us a time limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes which was not feasible due to our order not be taken until 20 minutes after we were seated. We ordered the lamp chop lollipops which was DELICIOUS!!! We also ordered muscles which was seasoned to perfection!! The char-boiled oysters were blahhhhhh The lobster mac n cheese was watery and unseasoned. We let the manager know and the chef came out to speak with us which i thought was a kind gesture. We asked if they would make it again as we didn't want it off the bill we just wanted it made properly. They were really nice about it and made it again but unfortunately it still wasn't good. The truffle fries were good but honestly you really can't mess that up. We ordered the sautéed spinach which was so bland! That was a waste. Lastly we ordered the oui and Tiffany and CO cocktail which were both delicious! I would def come back to give it another try. Also, it should be noted that they need some help with customer service. The waitress was not attentive. She stood around a lot without asking for our order, if we liked our food, If we needed anything else etc you know.. the usual questions but the female manager made up for that as she was very nice! read more

So I've seen this restaurant all over social media and decided to finally go. We made a reservation for 11pm, but due to a cancellation we were able to get A reservation for 9 PM. Upon entering the establishment no one greeted us no one was at the booth we waited about five minutes before we were acknowledge. We then receded in the only seat available which happened to be right by the front door which makes u feel like your not even in the restaurant. It took the waitress about 10 minutes to even acknowledge our table to begin placing our order. it took her an additional 20 minutes to drop off our drinks keep in mind this is Covid and the restaurant is not full to capacity and there is staffing. After being seated for an hour we finally get our entrée which was cold Honestly the restaurant is cute but other than that the quality of service and food is lacking. It's black on that's why I supported it however, they definitely need to step their game up to be competitive overall it was just Instagram worthy. read more

I've been here a few times before and had good experiences but that was some time ago. The overall decor and ambiance is nice. The food is tasty but nothing you can't experience someplace else. Our waitress spent more time trying to box up my food before I even had a chance to eat it and got annoyed every time I reminded her I'm actually still eating. Immediately after paying our bill the hostess then walks over and ask us to leave because they needed the table. There were five open tables, only two people at the bar and no one waiting to be seated. Ambiance and food will never excuse poor and lackluster service. You have the potential to deliver food, service and ambiance if service was more consistent and attitudes improved. read more

I really love the food here but the service is so sloooowwwwww... I literally waited 15 minutes after being seated for a waiter to come and say hello and after she took our drink order we waited almost half hour before our drinks came and the restaurant wasn't even full. Thank goodness the food is delicious to make up for the wait. Definitely suggest the lamb chops and the salt and pepper shrimp. read more

I went here with friends and hubby for his birthday on Tuesday. We all enjoyed ourselves and loved the decor and vibe of the establishment. Owners were very present and attentive. We enjoyed our food and drinks. The men ate all of their steaks! The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the spinach rice but I ate most of it. We will definitely be back on a weekend. I would like to try other dishes and appetizers. I probably will not be disappointed. Our waitress was patient, professional and also attentive. I wish I could remember her name. My friend did me the favor of asking her if they had carrot cake, and she already knew to bring it out after dinner. We sang happy birthday and ate the cake. Cake was good too! If you haven't visited, you should definitely give them a try. I'm giving them 4.5 stars. We will be back! read more

We were finally able to visit this place after much anticipation. I hate to give less than 5 stars but the customers service is almost non existent. It's the worst we have ever experienced . The only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because the food and drinks were actually really really good. No issue finding parking and the music was on point ! From the moment we walked in we were barely greeted After sitting down It took 40 minutes to get our drinks . We actually finished our appetizers before the drinks came out & our entree's came out 30 minutes after that and then another 30 minute wait for dessert . This place has a lot of potential . I won't be back but i hope they figure it out . read more

Prime 39 is a hidden gem in Lynbrook. Everyone from the hostess to the owner is friendly, attentive, and professional. We were there last night (9/17/2021) and started with cocktails from the happy hour menu. I had the Side Car my wife the Spritz w Chambord. We also had the lollipop lamb chops from the happy hour menu. Everything was outstanding. We split the rib eye which was seasoned and cooked to our request. Again absolutely terrific. Prime has a great vibe both intimate and very comfortable. The music at dinner was not too loud which made conversation easy. The pace was relaxed so we could enjoy course without feeling rushed. Bottom line is Prime 39 is highly recommended read more

Prime 39 is beautiful. The food, drinks, music, staff, and decorations were amazing. I walked in on a Sunday evening with no reservations and the host informed me that I needed a reservation. Determine to try this establishment, I told her I will wait. (DON'T RISK IT LIKE ME AND MAKE A RESERVATION) The owner Neil informed me that he will try his best to accommodate me since I didn't have a reservation. The host said the wait time might be 15 minutes and I agreed to wait. After 15 minute Neil informed me a table was open and we were seated promptly. The music was a vibe. Great r&b and hip hop. I must add that Sunday has a pre-fixe menu that serves brunch all day and dinner. I decided to go with the dinner menu. Appetizer - I ordered shrimp and my friend ordered wings. Shrimp was fresh and tasty, just wished I had some more with it. I suggest sauce on the side. The wings were good too and the portion size was great. Dinner- I ordered the lamb chops and it was cooked at medium. My friend ordered the salmon. Both were tasty, I love the pesto sauce on the lamb chops and salmon was moist. Mash potatoes were yummy and vegetables were good too. Dessert- we ordered carrot cake and waffles and ice cream. Both were super sweet and yummy. I love sweets so I had no complaints. Drinks- I ordered a bottle of white wine. It was priced at $35.00 which was good. We got tipsy off the one bottle. So for two ppl with gratuity the total was $194.00. I usually don't go over $150.00 but it was worth it at prime. The only thing I would suggest they improve on is the wait time for food. It was a little longer then what I'm use to but again it was worth the wait. I recommend this place for date night, girls night out and birthday dinners but make reservations. Definitely not a place for children. read more

Visited yesterday for dinner and baby, it was delicious. We started with the muscles and crispy pepper shrimp which were yum, was not at all impressed with the wings nor the amount you get with an order of wings. Our drinks were of good quality n strong. We ordered the pre fixed dinner ( note there was no adds on's which really sucked). The lamb pre fixed was an additional 22.00 ea. The side of mash was tasty as was the broccolini*. With that being said I did not appreciate the 9.00 Charge for extra broccoli. The hostess was pleasant and my server was awesome. They felt ah little bad when could not do much of anything with the menu when we wanted add other items to our dinner. Overall, it was a good day with good service and we appreciate that. read more

I loved everything except the Cesar salad w cornbread croutons. The mussels were AMAZING as was the steak!!

Definitely make a reservation! I figured a Wednesday night would be slow, but it was pleasantly full. The hostess was very accommodating and informed us of a short wait or said we could eat at the bar. We chose the bar. The bartenders were fantastic and gave fantastic drink suggestions. A bit of advice- tell them what you like and let them do their magic! The food was great. We ordered NY strip, ribeye, sautéed spinach, garlic mash and lobster Mac and cheese. Not a bad dish of the bunch. We will definitely return. read more

My Fiancée and I visited Prime 39 for the first time and was as extremely satisfied. The staff and servers were attentive and went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied. Not to the cuisine... we started out with the chefs cut bacon and Thai chili calamari. Both were exceptional but they really could increase the portion size of the calamari. The bacon - bomb!!! I'll order it every time. Our entree was prime rib cooked medium and was flavorful. We ordered Mac n Cheese, Sweet Potato Casserole, and Brussel Sprouts and they were all good. Prime39 is not your father's steakhouse. The ambiance is closer to that of a happening night club then that of the dimly lit steakhouses of the 50+ crowd. Though the vibe may not be for everyone, they definitely make you feel like a VIP. The seating is cozy but the partitions give a private feel. The staff was very friendly and attentive, but the drink service was backed up leading to us finishing our appetizers before our drinks even arrived. As an appetizer, my wife and I had the crab cakes and raw oysters. The crab cakes were tender with a tasty remoulade. The oysters were served with lemon, cocktail sauce, horseradish and a sweet and sour mignonette which was a welcomed surprise. My wife ordered the surf and turf - very well-seasoned. The steak was tender and cooked well with an immaculate crust. The accompanying shrimp were large and very flavorful. I had the branzino it was served over garlic spinach and creole sauce. It was a phenomenal dish - the branzino was grilled to perfection and the flavor of the dish popped. We split a silky and flavorful side of garlic mashed, a lemony side of brocolinni, and a baked mac and cheese. If we are nitpicking, the broccolini arrived cold and the mac and cheese came in a cast iron crock and was very, very hot leading to us consuming it after we finished our other food rather than as an accutriment. Additionally, while the breadcrumbs were toasty and flavorful, the dish somehow felt as though it was lacking in cheese and was a bit lackluster overall. For dessert, we split a great slice of carrot cake and they comped a glass of wine since the bar service was backed up. Overall, we look forward to returning. The generous rewards program was a nice surprise when paying the check. read more

Not really a "steak house".....only thing is has of a steakhouse is the prices. Ordered the wagu beef and ribeye. The "wagu" had no marble whatsoever. In fact it was tough for being wagu which I highly doubt it was wagu. The ribeye supposedly prime bla bla bla 16oz. Tasted more like a steak bought at Keyfood. Overall it isn't bad. For dinner I had the filet mingon, lobster mac & cheese, creamed spinach. My cousin had the bbq salmon and the other two got the stuffed shrimp. All the food was filling, tasty and flavorful. Desert was great too and I am not even a desert person. Since it was 3 of their birthdays I ordered the carrot cake, birthday martini and fried waffles and ice cream. All tasty!
