Cute Italian cafe in south of fifth neighborhood, we stopped in for a quick espresso after lunch and there was a line (must be good!). We quickly placed our order and checked out all the wines and goodies for sale on the side. I would come back to try their sandwiches and salads. Also there is a special on Wednesday's for $35 bottle of wine and antipasti!

Yummy and cute! Amazing food and service. Very authentic Italian. Nice market inside. Great for any meal. Local joint in SoFi. Super awesome. Cute outside. You must come here!

Everything is tasty, great atmosphere and the service is nice, BUT: They use unfair, sneaky and illegal billing practices. Today I discovered some pretty sucky billing practices that made me changed my mind about coming back here: 1. They bill their built-in 20% Tip on a GROCERY ITEM (olive oil in my case). That's just illegal. 2. They charged 50% more the cost of a little toast ($12 instead of $8) when asked to substitute the Ham with hard boiled egg. The waitress did not mention the extra $4 charge when she took the order with my request to Substitute. 3. They charged $1.5 extra when asked to put a splash of oat milk in my double espresso, taking the cost from $4.25 to $5.75. Again, no mention to that when taking the order. All in - feeling of sneaky shady practices. Not trustworthy when it comes to the bill or food.

We passed this café a couple of times before deciding to go in. Parking was a bit scarce especially on a busy Sunday morning. Breakfast was well underway and the brunch crowd was beginning to stir. We found a good parking spot around the corner that wasn't too far away. There are a few tables lining the street mixed in with a couple high-tops to choose from. My first choice was the high-top at the very end in front of the door but my husband wanted to dine inside. We seated ourselves and were greeted right away. The inside of the café has a few tables. The tables are set very close together so be prepared to dine with others who are not in your party. It's intimate, cozy, and family-friendly. They sell wine by the bottle and offer a decent size alcohol menu. They also sell grocery items such as pastas, coffee, jarred truffles. I ordered a croissant with butter and was I was given a side of jam to try. It was tasty. Not too sweet and not overbearing with artificial flavoring. The croissant was buttery and crispy, just the way I like it. And, my mimosa was delicious!!!

I hate to write a review for this place because I don't want anyone to find out about it. They only have like 10 tables and half are outside. The best lasagna in SoBe! At a affordable price which is hard to find in this town. Wine Happy Hour is the best! The one waiter is pleasant and efficient. Don't tell anyone.

Las Olas Cafe - Cuban sandwich

I was in the neighborhood to get a badly needed haircut while visiting from the Bay Area for work and next door on the corner on an otherwise unassuming street is this solid legit Cuban sammie and coffee place. Locals galore sitting outside sipping strong Cuban coffee and eating Sammie's and empanadas. Who am I to argue with the locals. They definitely steered me right on this one. The Cubano was stuffed with moist roasted pork and ham with pickles and melted cheese. The spicy garlicky green sauce that comes with it could make an old shoe delicious ! The coffee was spot on and that roasted pork and plantain empanada also hit the proverbial spot. All in with tax and tip for $25 I was stuffed full and now remarkably fluent in Spanish ! Esta bien Las Olas Cafe ! Muy muy deliciosa !

Located a couple of blocks off a major road (Washington Ave.), Las Olas Cafe felt like a hole-in-the wall neighborhood joint - a team of off-duty police officers were enjoying their dinner inside the restaurant, and families were eagerly lined up at the to-go window outside the restaurant. As I waited in line to order, I perused the menu, which included breakfast items, coffee, and a variety of sandwiches. Even though there were only a couple of customers ahead of me in line, each meal was made-to-order before the next order was taken. This meant that the staff prepared about half a dozen coffees, a couple of smoothies, and several meals before it was my turn to order. When I finally placed my order for a Cubano sandwich, I waited about 20 minutes for my food to be prepared. My sandwich was served piping hot, and I eagerly took my food to go so I could enjoy it at the beach nearby. Despite the wait (about an hour from the time I arrived at the cafe despite the short line), my food was delicious. The sandwich was stuffed with crispy shredded pork and ham, and a generous amount of mustard, melted cheese, and pickles pulled it all together.

From the moment you walk in, the space feels warm, cozy, and beautifully designed--very "South of France" chic. The food is consistently delicious, especially the pastries and baked goods. Service was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It's the kind of place you can go for a quick coffee or sit and relax for a while. Highly recommend Maman if you're looking for great coffee, amazing pastries, and a relaxing, stylish atmosphere. Definitely a 5-star experience--I'll be back often!

I'll definitely be coming back.

Was quite pleased with what I ordered. Ham Croqueta: Crispy outside breading and very gooey inside. There were nice ham chunks inside. Chicken Croqueta: Same format as the ham croqueta. Though this one was kinda bland. The chicken strands just kinda blended in with the gooey mush center whereas the ham chunks were nice and smoky. Tequeño: Nicely executed with a cheesy center and crispy outside. Cuban Sandwich: I like how they really pay attention an evenly distributed and nicely crisped press on both sides. Many places are only partially crispy. The ratio of ham, pork, cheese, pickles and mustard was just right. The flavors worked in harmony and there wasn't one ingredient that dominated the rest.

No vabbè, qua ti senti in Italia ma col bel caldo tropicale di Miami!…read more We came to Rosetta bakery for un caffettino ma then we decided we needed to order everything we saw. JK but our eyes really wanted to, especially when I laid eyes on the Nutella croissant section. From delicious paninozzo bello ripieno perfect to take to go and eat at the beach, to delicious pizzette e focaccia, Rosetta Bakery has everything you need for that sweet or savory tooth. We had the best breakfast, tipico Italiano, with nutella croissants, caffè macchiato e caffè, come in Italia. Everything is baked fresh, at the spot and you can see all the hard work through the little glass window. This place makes you feel good and it's food dopamine for your nose and eyes. Can't wait to come here again next time I'm in the area.

I especially like all the freshly baked smells coming from the active bakery onsite. Chocolate Cake: What can make chocolate cake even better? A nutella-like frosting! It really took this to a whole new indulgent level. Apricot Croissant: Why spread jam on your croissant when it comes pre-jammed? A nice amount of tangy apricot jam inside the flaky pastry. A great way to start the day. Pistachio Eclair: Normally I'm a chocolate frosting and vanilla custard guy, but they didn't have that combination. Was pleasantly surprised by the sweet pistachio cream, made it feel very European. Cannoli: A tiny little indulgence of dense sweet cheese inside a not-that-crispy-anymore shell. Potentially made awhile ago; wonder if a fresher one would have had a better crunch. I did like the candied orange peel at one of the ends. Mortadella Sandwich: A simple way to live up the olive roll. A few slices of mortadella to make it meaty and feel kinda fancy European. Ham & Sweet Baguette: Simple and easily transportable to the beach. The baguette tastes fresh, likely made onsite not that long before. It had a good chew. The ham and cheese are just enough protein to make it into a meal. Might have been even better with a little mustard. Mortadella, Cheese, Sun Dried Tomato Sandwich: A nice soft roll with lots of mortadella, some fresh mozzarella and heavy umami sundried (or slow baked?) tomatoes. The addition of those tomatoes really ratcheted up the flavor of the bread, meat, cheese.

While waiting, they have a waiting lounge cafe right next door where you can grab coffee, but we decided to wait and enjoy ours with the meal I much prefer coffee served in a mug rather than a to-go cup. Once we were seated, we were warmly welcomed. I ordered the Turkish eggs, which were absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The coffee was decent not bad, but not exceptional either. The Turkish eggs really stood out, served with a great bagel style bread and a nice side of olives and cucumber (though I wish there had been more olives!).
