Whole Foods Market started in 1984 in Austin TX, and during those early years, it slowly opened stores in the South.....first in Houston and Dallas and then in New Orleans. The company made its initial public offering on January 23, 1992. While opening new stores, the company fueled rapid growth by acquiring other natural foods chains throughout the 1990s and the 2000s. They also have a really good fresh flower selection. You can also get nice holiday wreaths, mums and Christmas trees for reasonable prices.
