Their business model sucks. That should tell you all you need to know. But, if it doesn't let me include some facts. There is some type of discount when you first move in, it varies with their advertising. I was told that they would honor other competitor's rates and that they were affiliated with Costco which allayed my concerns. In my case it was half off some the cost listed online. That cost that was not the retail cost of $308.00 if my memory serves. Jessica told me this when I complained about the increaseof 16%+ to $264.00 after three month when I was hit with the automatic increase of more than 16% to a cost of $264.00 each unit that includes the 16.00 monthly insurance on each unit . Her implication was that at least the increase was not to the regular retail value of the units. She stated that the increases came from corporate and there was nothing she as a manager could do about it. There would be another increase after 10 months time, again from corporate. This was for two 10 x 10 units. Bait and switch comes to mind. At one time they may have been affiliated with Costco, but not anymore. I was not told about the twice yearly increases. Yes, I realize that it is a month to month rental and that the price could change, but I would expect it to be about the inflation rate, not 3 times that rate twice a year. That is simply a money grab and scam on the part of this organization based on the belief that the renter would not want to move out so soon after loading the space. For this 75 year old, they were wrong. Quite a few other storage facilities are doing the price increase twice a year (if you ask about it), but not all at the rate. This and other companies call around to the competitors and adjust the rates up to what the others charge. Can you say colusion and price fixing. I don't recommend renting to a lawyer and not being forthcoming about the rates. Total honesty is a good thing for customers. Find me if you need any class action help for a suit. They want you to clean out the unit when leaving but supply no garbage you can to use. I did not mop up the bird droppings, leaving that to the costodian, who in my opinion is the only one who is worth their pay. I was not told about any free coverings supplied, so I don't know if they are still doing it. I would recommend short term rentals only if you can afford it and can bring your own coverings and it is close to you. Never again for me though. Jessica is polite, and when told about the bird crap on my stored items, she suggested that I file an insurance claim. Photos will be uploaded later. read more

I usually am disappointed when I have to leave a one star review, but for this place I am honored!!! If anyone reads this review and rents here, may as well not have Yelp!! This is the top worst company i have ever reviewed. My experience was poor, so are others i noticed on BBB while filing a customer complaint report. If i write a bad review of a company on Yelp, it is also reported to the BBB. Price storage is making so muclike the Ritz, more like customer service of a corner liquor store Basically if you pay your bill on time, you will avoid the ridiculous fees. . However, they will eventually gorge you with a price hike or a hidden fee somewhere. I guarantee. After surviving a near fatal car accident my focus was recovering. It took a long time. This is a business, i understanding and don't expect special treatment. However, the fees and the general manager of this place should be embarrassed This is NOT a place college kids should utilize in San Diego. Wow! They are fantastic. We had a pod from Pack Rat being delivered and the pick up date is literally days after the original drop off date. Jessica, the manager has been a dream to work with. The storage units at Price self storage are convenient to enter. They provide big flat bed dollies to help you move your stuff from your vehicle into your storage unit with ease. The unit was pretty clean when I entered it.nothing that a quick sweep up didn't fix. However I found the people that work there very helpful, very friendly and honest.. They suggested that the unit I chose was too big for my amount of items to be stored.. Jessica and Sandy are tops in customer service... and never rush you if you end up coming in right when they should be able to go home for the day. This place is located a short distance from where I was living, so that makes going there very much more convenient than having to drive much further to put your belongings in storage and occasionally take something out. I highly reccommend especially for people living in the beach area. read more

Went to price self storage today to get information about storage rentals in my area. Sandy was extremely helpful in taking her time to explain the different sizes available. Then she drove me around to different size units that were available and the different areas they were located. She answered all my questions politely and I signed up for a unit. The pros at Price Self Storage went well beyond the call in initially helping us find a convenient space that was easy to access and that was the perfect size that we required. Although I am not a fan of the owners of this business (raise rent every 6 months and will not deal with bird doo problem) I love the staff, especially Sandy and Jessica. They follow through on all requests and "bend over backwards" for you. If it wasn't for them, I would move! Bob's comments are typical blah blah blah BS lies that they tell. Their costs do not go up as much as their rent increases. As I said, it's a business model and it's programmed into their computers. Their costs did not double in 6 years but our rent did. Yet they still offered the same size unit for half the price we were paying...... If they can rent that size unit to new customers, they should have rented to us for the same price. We did get a one year contract once, but they didn't offer us the same thing after it was over......as they should have. They put us back on the same "auto increase" program as before. Don't believe the BS. Realize what you're getting into. They treat their long term renters poorly. Don't be one. read more
