Since moving back to St. Peters after 5 years couldn't wait to go to my favorite nail place. I find out they have new owners. Beautiful atmosphere. We were the only two there before Thanksgiving. One man and one woman working. They talked me into powder because of the color I wanted. After my nails snagged my hair every time. My niece had one break off and chipped the next day. They charged me 145$ plus 16$ tip. The man burned me with the tool he used. Never been more disappointed and felt ripped off. I go here all the time! It is such a wonderful environment, I always feel welcomed and appreciated. They know my name there and I always have great conversations with them! It seems like they really make an effort to form relationships with their costumers (I know they have with me). They always make sure I am happy with my nails and if I damage them they have fixed them for me for FREE! I am always using my hands and have had a chip once or twice and have gone in the next day and not only did they fit me in right away they didn't charge me (for something that was probably my fault)! Came in today for a relaxing pedicure and mani. I asked about what services they offered the only option I was given was a basic pedicure. Then I see other customers come in and now all of a sudden they have multiple options... Really!!!! I asked why I wasn't offered any of these options when I asked in the beginning. The lady says oh well maybe next time. I so want to come unglued. The job that was done is half ass, then when I asked her to fix certain things she looked at me like I have a problem. This definitely is the first and last time I will ever, come through these doors. If. You didn't want to service me then you should have said so from the start. I did the dip and some foil designs, I originally wanted 2 nails done but decided on all of them she said NO! but the other tech was like yes it will look good. Had an appointment for two pedicures at 6 pm for my friend and me. We were instantly put at foot baths, which I've walked out of before, but I had told my friend I would treat her. She got her pedicure started around 6:30 and mine started around 6:50 and lasted all of 20 minutes. I gave this place a chance...have had a couple good looking and long lasting pedis before but the service is awful. Not only do you sit, and sit, and sit, but the technician did a shotty job and rushed through her service. I went in to this nail salon because it's so close to my house and my usual salon couldn't fit me in when I needed. I asked for Amy because I saw reviews talking about how good she was. Amy insisted everyone was good there and I would be fine with anyone. Amy did not do my nails and it's safe to say I am not happy with how they came out. The nail tech did try her best. The color was supposed to match my toes but the nail technician took it upon herself to do three layers of the dip instead of two without asking me so my nails are not the colored I wanted. They are thick and the dip powder is messy and all over my cuticles. I wish Amy would have done my nails like I asked. read more

I wasn't confident that the tools had been sanitized between clients as they were just sitting in their glass of antibacterial and hadn't come from the sanitizer (microwave-looking machine). I had an eyebrow and lip wax, dip manicure and pedicure and my experience was terrible! They burned my eyebrow so I have a painful, burn mark. The younger guy did my mani/pedi and he was so rough. While doing my nails, he cut my finger with the drill tool and didn't even apologize! I understand accidents happen from time to time but at least apologize! My nail salon was closed Sunday amd Monday for Memorial day weekend . So I googled and found this nail salon. First the worst pedicure for the price. $25. Is the norm, but it was basically polish off polish on. Most place pay more attention to Sloughing the bottom of your feet. Which is the one big reason I get one. When he was cutting my cuticles it sometimes hurt. By pressing to hard on the toe nail. Had nails done, the art work turned out great. Been to this place 3 times now in the last year bc it's really close to my house. It's ok. Not the best place I've ever I've been to, but not the worst. Wanted to treat myself for the holidays, so I went. It was snowing, so I didn't have to wait! I was the only one there. Got a gel mani and pedi. If you don't like hearing Vietnamese or your manicurist taking phone calls or texting during your appointment, this is not the place for you. She was nice. Very chatty at first about her life. Did a nice job on my nails. I was happy. Total was $68. I told her to run my card for $75. Now, I am not rude or cheap. I am just terrible at math in my head! She turned sour after that and didn't look at me when we said goodbye. Later, I did the math on my phone and felt bad. That's like a 10% tip. The next day, I thought about going back and giving her a $20 in cash because I really messed up. However, I first checked my credit card statement, and I saw that I was charged $82!!! So, she gave herself a 20% tip. She ran my card for a DIFFERENT amount than what I asked and what was on the receipt that I signed! NOT COOL. I understand that I messed up, but you do not charge a customer more just because you want to! Especially without informing them. That's just BAD BUSINESS. I won't be going back. read more

I wouldn't come here again. They touted they were under new management...They were nice enough but their customer service, quality of work and atmosphere really lacked. The shop is not the cleanest I've ever seen it's actually pretty dirty. In the waiting area there was food on the floor. Leftover chips and other food items on the floor, from prior clients. I got a gel manicure I am used to OPI and Shellac Creative Nail products...They have a large mixture of cheap no name products. I also don't think the tools were cleaned person to person-I didn't even see them dumped in any kind of sanitizer between clients...and this place loves the drill.....to remove my old gel acrylic nails she needed to drill through the top layer of my last gel manicure??? it is a top coat not cement...at any other place they dip a cotton ball acetone and wrap them in aluminum and wait for the gel to peel off- then she wanted to drill the cuticle area of my nail?? I put an immediate stop to that-then I asked her to use a file, she kept on saying she needed the drill...ladies the drill is a lazy way out to a manicurist...it quicker and faster but horrible for your nail bed and nail-it makes your nail super thin and your nail bed tender. When I asked her to hand file she was literally put out and did the worst job I've ever seen on my nails. Then when she actually went to cop the cuticle she ripped a part of my cuticle off rather than clipping it... The actual manicure is the chunkiest and worst gel manicure I have ever had. The manicure is not even the sides of my nails are really chunky and the middle is thin...the ends of my nails barely had polish on them (I had a special ombre glitter design) and the actual surface of my nails are all bumpy and my cuticles have polish all over them that I am still picking off a week later. The funny thing is that the manicurist that was doing my nails said to me "My friend who owns a nail shop in NYC wants me to move there because she said I can make a lot of money because I do such great nails designs"...really my special nail design nails looked horrible...she wouldn't make a dime here in NYC. Unless she means chunky and messy nail designs are what people in NYC are looking for. There was nothing I am mean nothing luxurious about this place. My nails have never looked so bad and the sides of my fingers actually hurt and they are sore? I am waiting for my fingers and nails to heal a little get these off and go to my regular place in NY. read more

I walked in with my friend and didn't wait but 2 minutes to get seated and I didn't have an appointment. That was the only good thing about my visit at Pretty Nails-- the rest was horrific. The man burned my cuticle with the dremel so bad it was a sore for 4 days. He also took wayyyy too much of my nails off. He clearly didn't know how to do dip. I was so upset and told him they looked very thin and obviously he didn't understand. He called a lady over to talk to me and understand what I was saying and she was VERY rude and condescending. I wanted glitter on one finger and showed him the exact picture of the glitter from the top and he still couldn't do it correctly. He called her over and she was so condescending, going on and on in Vietnamese ranting to the others. I've never had a problem with any salon I've ever been to, this was the worst experience I ever had and my friend also had a horrific experience. 4 of her cuticles were burned and 2 were worse than mine.
