It was way too hot (it burned my skin badly), and didn't adhere properly--so when she would pull, most of the wax and hair stayed stuck on me. It was excruciatingly painful, far beyond normal waxing discomfort. The results were terrible: my legs still had tons of hair left, looking like I hadn't been waxed at all. The salon itself felt unclean and neglected--a dead cricket on the floor, cluttered and messy room that was cramped and dirty overall. To top it off, she tried to overcharge me by about $20 at checkout, and only adjusted it after I pointed it out--felt totally dishonest.

I asked if I could have a paraffin wax treatment for my sore fingers, and they told me they would have to charge me extra for that since they already redid my nails for free, even though they were fixing the poor job they previously did which was improperly curing the gel polish so that it peeled off immediately. They did apply gel builder to my nails, but that was due to them over filing the polish off and making my nails paper thin and breaking off. I was told they promised to fix the problem via messages on yelp if I updated my negative feedback review. But my main issue was the pain and bleeding of my cuticles which didn't heal for several weeks. I asked if they had any cuticle oil I could take home to treat them, they refused and told me to go buy aquaphor and use that. So they didn't actually address my main concern which was my bleeding damaged cuticles, and only changed the paint.

She even walked past me outside with her client to take photos of her nails while already running late af. I really wanted to walk out and get my nails done somewhere else but my card was on file and I was afraid I'd be marked as a no show even though I was on time. I finally get sat down, I expressed that I was upset but she didn't seem to care or know how to react at all. The owner, Wendy was super nice and still trying to make my experience a good one. I appreciated that. I even apologized because I felt like I came off so rude, but can you blame me? The rest of the appointment went fine, we talked a bit and she did pretty much what I asked for but now that I'm home I really feel like I was ripped off. If my birthday wasn't the next day, I would've tried to find somewhere else to go.. I spent like $165 on a pedicure and gel x set with designs. Please see the designs in my photo. I did compliment my nails, I did tell her that I'd really liked them because the French she did on my toes was good! but when I got home and actually examined the work on my hands up close, the chrome isn't even that well done. The designs she drew on were sloppy! I posted my nails in a nail fb group for an opinion on my nails and experience and everyone told me it was 100% not worth what I paid. They said the execution was bad and she was unprofessional, which I agree. They were even surprised she didn't give any type of courtesy discount considering how late she was. $3 off my callus removal is not sufficient lol. They have a 15 minute grace period for late clients, they should really have something in place for when their techs are 40+ mins late. I honestly wouldn't come back. Way way overpriced.

They used a used drill bit to scrub your feet (not a pumice stone), i watched the nail tech use it on the lady before me and come and use it on me and the lady after me next. I was too shy to say anything but that was alarming. She was using a heavily used nail file as well.

When I saw myself I gasped and told her she left me with patches of hair missing she told me it already was like that... I added a picture of my eyebrow before the service and after. She didn't even wax me correctly there is still a lot of hair that she missed. This is unacceptable I still had to pay for her messing up my eyebrow. I am disappointed. Why offer eyebrow waxing as a service if you don't know how to do it?

They have a wide selection of nail polish colors and finishes. It always takes me a bit of time to decide because I want all the colors lol! When I finally decided, the service was timely and efficient. My appt was at 4:30 pm and I was finished by 5:30 pm. Both technicians were meticulous and attentive. They also checked on me periodically to make sure I was happy with their service along the way. I was really happy with the way my nails looked. This salon is clean and organized. They have two televisions, but the volumes are on low. You can watch with the closed captions. They also have music playing in the background at a comfortable level. There is parking directly in front, which is shared with the other businesses in the plaza. Thank you, Soul Cool Nail Lounge, for always taking good care of your customers.
