I still LOVE my hair! It's been 9 weeks since I went to see Dan for cut & color and I'm still getting compliments. The receptionist was very nice and helpful when I called to make my appointment. The salon is very pleasant and relaxing. It's an Aveda salon so all their products help create the soothing atmosphere and nice looking smells. When I arrived, I was greeted and offered a beverage. Dan and I talked about what I thought I wanted which is for my hair to look good with extremely little effort on my part. He told me what he was going to do every step. He's a great conversationalist and the waiting time for the color flew by. I walked out of the salon with a smile and self-confidence and am ready to make my next appointment. Before getting the haircut, I asked the hairdresser if she knew how to do pixie cuts, and she told me she had experience doing it. Instead, she gave me a terrible cut, to the point that she herself said, "I cut too much, but I'm getting to know your hair, and next time I'll do it right." I am sorry to have to write a bad review of this salon, because my last visit 8 months ago was so nice. I saw Kendra again this time, and her attitude and treatment of me was appalling, and not at all like the last time! I will NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to that salon again! Everything about this appointment was awful. Throughout the entire time I was there, she consistently had a snotty attitude whenever I would ask a question or make a request. I could tell she was super rushed, and trying to get the appointment over ASAP, and she treated me as if I was a nuisance. The worst part, though, was every single thing she did to me was incredibly painful! She raked through my hair so hard with a fine-toothed comb, even after I asked her to please be careful combing, because I have been losing a lot of hair. As she was doing my highlights, as she separated my hair with the pointy end of the comb, it felt like she was stabbing my scalp every single time! When she would twist my hair and clip it up, it was so horribly tight, and she raked my scalp with the clip every time. Then when it came time to put the toner on, it burned my scalp because it had already been so raked up! I'm telling you, I'm not a person to actually come to Yelp and write a bad review, but I wanted to warn other people. If you enjoy being tortured for several hours, then this salon might be for you! If not, I would steer clear. There are so many examples I could give of the rude things she said to me, but it would take too long to write it all out. But to give you an idea of how rough she was with me, when I got home my scalp was hurting SO BAD I took a mirror to look at it, and I have small bloody spots where she dug into the skin with her various implements! It's several hours later now, and it's still so painful. I'm worried she actually damaged my scalp! I didn't want to cause a scene at the salon, so I didn't say anything during the entire ordeal. I wanted to get up and leave, but how do you do that when your hair service is partially done already? I don't know what Kendra's problem was today, but unfortunately she took out her aggression on me. I repeat, I will NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to Pret a Porter salon again. read more

Hello all, went a few days ago for a facial w Diana. She's nice and walks you through facial recommendations and asks you what your facial routine is. Was relaxing and I got the facial special for 60 min. Try going with Diana for your facials as she has good skin techniques to remove anything. Salon is nice and has an aesthetic to it. Would go again and recommend a friend for their facials :) read more

I hate to say this. Waited several days before I posted this. I didn't want to fly off the cuff . However, in all honesty this is one of the worst experiences I've had in a salon. I asked for a cut, and an overall color with purple blended in. Initially quoted about 175. Sounded about right to me. Ultimately, I ended up paying much more. I actually would have been OK with that if the result was good. My hair was dull, not shiny or healthy looking, and the purple laid into my hair was almost invisible because it was hidden on each side and not fully incorporated into the color. I called for this appointment in a timely way, and I told them what I was looking for, even the purple. I was seen by one of the owners and he had to go back and check to see if they had any purple. Mind you I called ahead and on their website they promote their expertise in color. I initially saw one of the owners then handed me off to his wife and she was supposed to do the cut, but she had not been there for the conversation with her husband about what I was looking for in my cut. It did not turn out well, I have not been this upset over a salon experience since I was in my 20s. Since there was a special occasion coming up, I took myself to a different salon to have the color of purple that I wanted and an actual cut and blow out. Believe or not it was one of a chain. I left with exactly what I wanted, and my hair looked and felt great.! They actually had me come in for a consult before booking the appointment. I would not recommend this business. Look elsewhere. read more

This is a wonderful, friendly salon with full service options. Dan does a fantastic job with my fine hair, and I also have had my eyebrows shaped there as well. The prices are not exorbitant. They carry Aveda products, which can be a bit pricey, but they are worth it. Give Pret-a-Porter a try. You won't be disappointed. Unfortunately, I had the same experience as Jessica. I have never been in a situation like this. I went in for a trim and left with 6 inches of hair cut off. I showed Roz a few pictures of hairstyles I liked and a picture of myself where I had drawn lines with a marker where and how to cut my hair. I was about to explain to her what I liked in the pictures when she interrupted me and started asking questions about the length. I got the impression that she didn't want me to talk too much but that she understood what needed to be done. When I saw how short and uneven my hair was cut, she quietly apologized for making a mistake but then said out loud that "I have a communication problem" and "I might like this look in 2 months when my hair grows back". She also told me that I didn't understand hair styling techniques and started drawing a shape on paper that I should take to the next stylist because I don't know how to communicate. I thought this was a joke. Her nonchalant demeanor and unprofessional attitude cast a shadow over the entire establishment. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this place. read more

Not a real friendly group. Served lukewarm coffee. Two appointments and $500 (including tip) later I'm SO disappointed . The first appointment for low-lights was chaotic but I loved the color. Haircut was sub-par. Second visit for a partial low light touch up and haircut was A DISASTER! The left side of my hair is so much darker than the right side. AND THIS HAIRCUT IS ONE OF THE WORST IVE EVER HAD. Not at all what Kendra and I discussed. I had high hopes when I went in... I had plans on evening of my appointment so there was no time to try and correct the color. The haircut will take months to grow out. read more

I had a Spa Finder card and searched for a spa. I found this one and called to make an appointment for a couple of services. They made an appointment to accomendate 2 of the 3 for time issues. I was never told the pricing for these services even after asking. I then was asked for a credit card to pay for the services if I did not show up for my appointment and cancel within 48 hours. I was never told about a $5 charge for a PPE nor was I told I had to pay for metered parking. I was then charged $100 dollars for a simple color and blow dry. I have never in my life been charged over $50 for a color. My facial was $80 which seemed reasonable. But I was really sticker shocked. Please stay clear of this price gouging place nothing special that would accomendate a $100 color service. Good Luck read more

Backstory: So I came in with a botched diy dye job, it looked blotchy at the roots but solid color everywhere else. I wanted to keep the orangish color I had but enhance it with a gloss and keep the blonde I had underneath. Since I didn't want to bleach my hair again we agreed of going dark at the roots so it blended better. To keep a long story short she dyed my hair this reddish color & completely ruined the blonde I had underneath. When she went to take the "after" pictures of my hair she tried to get the blonde but then decided not to because she knew it didn't look good. Minor details I could complain about: She dropped the brush she was adding color with on the floor twice, I made a comment about it expecting her to wipe it off but she didn't. I have curly hair so it needs more product and she did not put nearly enough in my hair so I walked out frizzy. Also she brushed my hair starting from the roots down and I asked her isn't it supposed to be the other way around and she said "well yeah but it doesn't matter because it'll still get tangled" and basically said it's better to just get it all out at once which isn't good for hair that's already damaged and has lots of split ends. I'm not one to complain but people have made questionable comments about my hair so I feel like I had to make this review. If you have long, thick, curly hair please go somewhere else. Go to someone who has clients with your hair type, who actually knows what they're doing with it and doesn't refer to wavy/curly hair as "black hair"! read more

First thing I do have to say Prêt-á-Porter Salon & Spa is spotlessly clean and uncluttered, and yet very comfortable. Kendra does an absolutely wonderful job. I was really confused on what I wanted to do with my hair. After chatting with Kendra for a little bit we came up with a haircut that turned out fantastic. While she was styling my hair, she taught me how I could style it my self to get the same effect. ---I greatly appreciated that. This bums me out because my first time here was great:( it's a cute place with lovely people. The overall experience was good, but the results after I left were really disappointing. I got a mani/pedi on Saturday. The pedi has held up well, but on Sunday the manicure on my index finger started to peel. Today (Tuesday) the gel on my middle finger peeled off after a shower. The gaps and gel/debris bubbles weren't a big deal at the time, but after two nails peeled, it feels like $40 down the drain. read more
