Ada Herrera quite literally has single handily changed the health of my hair. Two years ago I was suffering from intense bleach damage and thinning/breakage. With her guidance and judgment free atmosphere, Ada not only set me on the right path towards healthier hair, she gave me the confidence and knowledge to know I can take care of my hair at home too! Canada cut my hair this week and I LOVE IT! She looked at pictures I showed her and listened to everything I asked for. The cut is fun and stylish and super low maintenance. I felt like a new woman when I left the shop. Plus she is super quick. I was in and out in less than 40 min which is ideal for this busy girl! Thank you, Canada! read more

Adorable place with very friendly staff. Love my blond highlights from Canada!

Services are $$$ but if you don't mind spending top dollar and getting good quality services. This would be the place for you.

This review is for my amazing waxing lady Amy!! I followed her here from another salon because she is spectacular at her job! She is the only one I trust with a Brazilian read more

I have been looking for a hair stylist since I moved from Colorado in 2006... I found her! Canada did a cut and color on my hair and I LOVE IT. Not only do I love it that same night 4 friends complimented my hair color and 2 strangers. I didn't even mention my hair appointment to my friends they just noticed and loved it. Half of my hair takes color well ( the top half) and the rest doesn't at all (bottom half) and for my first visit its pretty even and looks amazing. I am loving my hair color right now. As for my cut, I really only trimmed it but it was so uneven from my last hair cut and Canada evened it out and made it look just like I wanted. The salon is nice and clean. The people are friendly and I think the price was pretty good for long hair. Canada didn't over charge or try to sell me a bunch of stuff . I will be going back and recommending Salon Marchessa and Canada to everyone! read more

I love this place! The atmosphere is great and friendly and Canada (the girl who colors my hair) does such a great job. I am so commited to going to this place you will not find me else where. read more

I purchased a Groupon for this place and was very pleased! Canada Foster did an excellent job on my highlights! I asked for the Ombre look which can be tough to pull-off technically speaking but she was up to date on the latest technique and on how to pull it off. I am so pleased! I plan on coming back to this place the next time I need some color. Also, Canada was very informative and suggested the Ombre look to me. She didn't push any products on me which is always nice to not feel pressured. read more

Salon Marchessa - My wedding day at Salon Marchessa! These ladies are amazing! - Hair Salons Near Me - La Mesa, California

Love the owner, LIsa -- does the best color I've had (weaves 3 in my hair) and has a down-to-earth, very positive attitude. Steve is my stylist who was trained by the Vidal Sassoon school. Very precise, and tells you what he thinks but does it your way if you insist. Both have decades of experience. The salon is clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and relaxing. Not cheap, but worth the price. They also do spa stuff, but I haven't tried any of that. read more

woohoo this place is great! Lisa Allison hooked me up with the best face wash and moisturizer I've ever had. It makes my skin glow and the price was just right. I can't wait to go back and get a facial from her as well! read more

I came to Canada for an up-do. She did an amazing job! I would defiantly go to her again. She did exactly what I wanted. She added clip on extensions and had my hair done in less than an hour. My hair held up for over 12 hours and did not look like it weighed down with hair spray. The salon was clean and everyone that worked there was extremely friendly. If you have a special event I would highly recommend going to Canada. read more

I bought a groupon and scheduled an appointment with Canada for a few days later. The salon is a tad hidden and I was a few minutes late. I walked in and was greeted by Canada right away. I went over and sat down and told her the change I was looking to get although I was unsure of exactly what I wanted. She was awesome at giving suggestions and she was quick too! I am so loving my new hair. Colors, cut and style are.awesome. Will defiantly be returning read more

Canada is amazing! She is adorable and very personable and truly cares about her clients needs. I leave the salon time after time loving her even more and most importantly, loving my hair! About Canada--I had a coupon for a hair cut and partial highlights. I'd never been to the salon and didn't know what to expect. She was nice, informative and didn't try to sell me a lot of hair products. Better yet, her hair cut and highlights were the best I've had in years. I've received numerous compliments. She's definitely good at what she does. I'll be back. read more

Canada is hit or miss. I had my hair highlighted and cut by her twice. First time was great. Second time my highlights came out brassy. I called and complained and she said she was trying to blend the highlights in to my brown hair.. She never asked what I wanted and since I had been there before, I assumed she remembered what she did last time. Why would get highlights if I just wanted to blend them in? What a disappointment. Looks like a bad bleach job. Also my hair is starting to gray on the sides. My sideburns are going gray but are not yet totally gray. Without asking she put brown dye on the hair on the sides to cover the gray after she pulled out the foil. She just started dabbing my sideburns with brown dye. I had no idea she was going to do this. If I wanted my hair dyed, I would have asked for a full color instead of a highlight. And she put the brown dye over the highlights so I don't have any highlights in my sideburns. My hair is going to be a total mess growing out, looking like a bad bleach job with gray roots on the sides. I called and told her about the brassy color. She offered to add six or seven lighter strands now on the top to lighten it up. That would just top it off to have the bleached strands break off from damage. Terrible job. What a mess. I'm not going back. Stay away. read more

I've been to Salon Marchessa two times on a recommendation of a friend who has been going there for a while. I went to Canada to do my up-do for my prom last May and was so so so happy with the results! She was amazing. Just yesterday, I decided to ditch my old hairdresser and find something new and went to Lisa for a cut and color. My hair was long and I cut it to a medium bob and was super nervous about the outcome. Lisa was able to reassure me and did definitely one of the best haircuts I've had in a long long time! Definitely recommend this place and the people are so nice! read more

I love this place! It's become my little haven. My first visit was to get a facial with Lisa Allison. From the moment I arrived they made me feel happy and relaxed. Lisa explained everything she was doing during my treatment and made me feel pampered and rejuvenated! She has an awesome vibe, and loves what she is doing, and it really comes across in her work. She addressed a couple of skin issues I was having and gave me great advice that worked! I can't wait to come back again. The second (& 3rd) time I visited was to see Kim Wertheimer for my hair. I have been looking high and low for a good stylist and I have found her at last! She understands what I'm trying to tell her, she listens, she is excellent at what she does. .. I went back and got my hair colored and between her amazing cut and beautiful color, now I get compliments constantly on my hair! She is amazing! A bonus is how much I just love these ladies. Coming here is always a good experience. I found my salon! Thank you! read more

I was referred to Canada from a friend because I was new to San Diego and I was afraid of just letting anyone touch my hair. My friend knew how I felt about my hair and told me I would have nothing to worry about with Canada. So I thought ok I'll give her a try and I did. I was so pleased and happy with how it turned out. I've now been going to her for about 5 or so years. She can do anything and gives the best customer service! read more

Lisa and Kim are a riot to listen to., so full of energy ;) I've gone to numerous stylists over the years but ever since Canada started doing mine i haven't let anyone else touch my hair. I just went and had the pravana perfection treatment done by Canada! I love it! My hair is big, poofy and very hard to manage! This treatment has made a huge difference. Normally when I blow dry my hair it becomes huge and looks horrible. Now it only takes about 10 minutes to blow dry and after I am done it looks good enough to go out with. I still do straighten it but it only takes about 10 minutes to straighten. I have never had compliments on my hair before and now I have received so many compliments! I will be getting the treatment done again by Canada! Plus it was a pleasure to talk to Canada. read more

What a fun place to come get pampered. These ladies are so much fun. My new happy place.

Love this place! The ladies are sooo sweet, welcoming, and a pleasure to be around. Michelle (Mee-chell) is who does my hair, and I love her! Salon Marchessa is classy, beautifully decorated, relaxing and spotless. Lisa, the owner, has cut and colored my hair since 2009 and I always walk out feeling terrific! Since she's a color specialist I've sent several friends, one being my friend Danamarie to Lisa to prepare her for Miss Teen La Mesa, Miss San Diego's Outstanding Teen, and Miss Los Angeles Outstanding Teen pageants. With Lisa's expertise she's able to give blondes a natural blonde look, using both caramel and blonde highlights. If you're looking for a salon, this is a professional and fun place to have your hair done! read more

Kim is my stylist! Love, Love, Love her. She has a bubbly and very personable personality. She listens to what you want and will give you what you want. If your feeling adventurous she is more than willing to help you step out of your box. If she doesn't have something when you come in she will The next time you do. (Example: I wanted to cut my hair super short that it required clippers so she went out and bought them and was ready to do me up.) I highly recommend Kim. read more

Unless you have a groupon for this salon, I would probably skip it. I had a groupon and went in to redeem it with Canada and she was great. We had a lot in common and she did exactly what I wanted. I knew for sure I would be back. So when I finally did go back a few weeks ago, my experience was completely different. I asked for something and she told me what I requested was too time consuming. So I went with partial highlights, exactly what I had done with the groupon, and they did come out well, however my haircut was not great. The trim for my hair was hardly a trim, I could still feel split ends and dead hair when I ran my fingers through it. Also, the price I was quoted over the phone went up about $20 when I got there. I would definitely come back, but probably not for a while so I can try some other salons. read more

I love my hair! Kim styled my hair and I have never had so many compliments..ever. I was stuck in a hair rut...long, brown hair..always wore a ponytail. She gave me amazing highlights, fabulous cut..and a lot shorter hair. I was nervous, but her bubbly personality made me feel at ease. Everyone at the salon was friendly and welcoming. I waited about a month to review..I tend to be a salon hopper, but everyday I get a compliment. So, Kim is now my stylist! read more
