I have been looking for a hair stylist since I moved from Colorado in 2006... I found her! Canada did a cut and color on my hair and I LOVE IT. Not only do I love it that same night 4 friends complimented my hair color and 2 strangers. I didn't even mention my hair appointment to my friends they just noticed and loved it. Half of my hair takes color well ( the top half) and the rest doesn't at all (bottom half) and for my first visit its pretty even and looks amazing. I am loving my hair color right now. As for my cut, I really only trimmed it but it was so uneven from my last hair cut and Canada evened it out and made it look just like I wanted. The salon is nice and clean. The people are friendly and I think the price was pretty good for long hair. Canada didn't over charge or try to sell me a bunch of stuff . I asked for the Ombre look which can be tough to pull-off technically speaking but she was up to date on the latest technique and on how to pull it off. I am so pleased! Love the owner, LIsa -- does the best color I've had (weaves 3 in my hair) and has a down-to-earth, very positive attitude. Steve is my stylist who was trained by the Vidal Sassoon school. Very precise, and tells you what he thinks but does it your way if you insist. Both have decades of experience. The salon is clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and relaxing. Not cheap, but worth the price. They also do spa stuff, but I haven't tried any of that. read more

I came to Canada for an up-do. She did an amazing job! I would defiantly go to her again. She did exactly what I wanted. She added clip on extensions and had my hair done in less than an hour. My hair held up for over 12 hours and did not look like it weighed down with hair spray. The salon was clean and everyone that worked there was extremely friendly. Canada is hit or miss. I had my hair highlighted and cut by her twice. First time was great. Second time my highlights came out brassy. I called and complained and she said she was trying to blend the highlights in to my brown hair.. She never asked what I wanted and since I had been there before, I assumed she remembered what she did last time. Why would get highlights if I just wanted to blend them in? What a disappointment. Looks like a bad bleach job. Also my hair is starting to gray on the sides. My sideburns are going gray but are not yet totally gray. Without asking she put brown dye on the hair on the sides to cover the gray after she pulled out the foil. She just started dabbing my sideburns with brown dye. I had no idea she was going to do this. If I wanted my hair dyed, I would have asked for a full color instead of a highlight. And she put the brown dye over the highlights so I don't have any highlights in my sideburns. My hair is going to be a total mess growing out, looking like a bad bleach job with gray roots on the sides. I called and told her about the brassy color. She offered to add six or seven lighter strands now on the top to lighten it up. That would just top it off to have the bleached strands break off from damage. Terrible job. What a mess. I'm not going back. Stay away. read more

I've been to Salon Marchessa two times on a recommendation of a friend who has been going there for a while. I went to Canada to do my up-do for my prom last May and was so so so happy with the results! She was amazing. Just yesterday, I decided to ditch my old hairdresser and find something new and went to Lisa for a cut and color. My hair was long and I cut it to a medium bob and was super nervous about the outcome. Lisa was able to reassure me and did definitely one of the best haircuts I've had in a long long time! I love this place! It's become my little haven. My first visit was to get a facial with Lisa Allison. From the moment I arrived they made me feel happy and relaxed. Canada does my hair and its exactly what i ask for every time. I have extremely thick hair which is time consuming, but spending 3 hours at this salon is a treat, I love it! Lisa and Kim are a riot to listen to., so full of energy ;) I've gone to numerous stylists over the years but ever since Canada started doing mine i haven't let anyone else touch my hair. I just went and had the pravana perfection treatment done by Canada! I love it! My hair is big, poofy and very hard to manage! This treatment has made a huge difference. Normally when I blow dry my hair it becomes huge and looks horrible. Now it only takes about 10 minutes to blow dry and after I am done it looks good enough to go out with. I still do straighten it but it only takes about 10 minutes to straighten. I have never had compliments on my hair before and now I have received so many compliments! I will be getting the treatment done again by Canada! Plus it was a pleasure to talk to Canada. read more

Unless you have a groupon for this salon, I would probably skip it. I had a groupon and went in to redeem it with Canada and she was great. We had a lot in common and she did exactly what I wanted. I knew for sure I would be back. So when I finally did go back a few weeks ago, my experience was completely different. I asked for something and she told me what I requested was too time consuming. So I went with partial highlights, exactly what I had done with the groupon, and they did come out well, however my haircut was not great. The trim for my hair was hardly a trim, I could still feel split ends and dead hair when I ran my fingers through it. Also, the price I was quoted over the phone went up about $20 when I got there. I would definitely come back, but probably not for a while so I can try some other salons. read more
