My experience at Preston's was phenomenal! I called after a holiday and I knew they would be super busy. Despite the garage full of vehicles, Preston's was able to inspect my vehicle and got me in and out in no time. The moment I walked in I was greeted by George with a welcoming smile. George takes care of the front desk, updates you on your card status, and the billing. He made sure I was offered water or coffee, and made great conversation about the business, himself, and the gym. (Ladies he is single). I did not run into any issues here and they were very friendly. The prices were not outrageously high depending on the service you received for your vehicle. I love and Jersey and I wouldn't mind crossing a bridge again to visit Preston's Garage for my car needs. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Preston's Garage after my neighbor suggested I take my 78 Toyota Landcruiser to Dave for repairs. Dave diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and had the repairs done before I knew it. I've been going here for a few years, after a local friend recommended it to me when I first moved into town. Here was my first above-and-beyond moment: I didn't have a ride back to my house when my car had to be kept overnight, and Dave himself gave me a lift back... That's something I have never seen anywhere else. Overall, The customer service here is top-notch! They took the time to explain their recommendations and gave the rationale. I always understood what was needed, or worked with them to find a solution that I was comfortable with. Here's another: compare your prices to what other garages may charge, or do a quick quote online based on you make/model/year. Between my last beater car and my first new-ish car, I've had a wide variety of issues. But I have never been over charged for any of the parts/services I've needed. A few years ago, I moved an hour away, but I decided it was worth it to come back here because the prices are so much more acceptable. One more major takeaway: ask Dave about his continued learning. This is someone who is decicated to always improving his work, and it shows by his ongoing travels to workshops and such. Two days after Preston's garage helped me get my car ready for a cross-country road trip, I got a call from George (another friendly and knowledgable person). Because Dave is so well travelled and knows many other reputable mechanics, they took the time to call back and see if I needed help finding another one after I move. Car problems can be stressful-- especially if you are in a last-minute punch and need your car back in tip-top shape fast. Compound this issue with being an average person with limited car experience... It is hard to find a trustworthy, friendly, competent, fairly priced mechanic. I had been looking for a place to bring my 69 camaro for years. I finally found Preston's. I needed some major under the hood repairs. I will never take it anywhere else. They did a fantastic job. They did what I needed and didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. It's hard to find a garage that you know you can trust. I would send anyone to Preston's without any reservation. I asked my wife to drop something off and pick it up when it was done. They treated her with the same respect as they did me. They do great work! I just picked up my 65 F100 from Dave and I am so pleased with the results! Multiple other garages guessed at the problem performed incomplete repairs and charged a lot. My 2015 Escalade was out of warranty when I encountered engine problems. My best friend is a long time customer of Preston's Garage and recommended that I take it there to be analyzed and repaired. I had it towed to Preston's Garage where Dave Preston and his team figured out that a valve spring broke, causing the valve to get sucked into the cylinder, which damaged the cylinder head, cylinder wall and piston. This required replacing the engine. Dave was able to procure a brand new GM replacement long block, then his team completed the new engine by moving the intake manifold, fuel delivery system and all of the necessary ancillary parts from the original engine to the new engine. The new long block even came with a GM warranty. Dave took care of all of the paperwork with GM, so I didn't have to do anything. Dave's team road tested and tuned the new engine. My Escalade now runs like new again. I couldn't be happier! Their customer service is above first rate. They offered coffee and water while I waited in the office. I needed a ride home from the garage and Ed stopped what he was doing and drove me home. They left a goodie bag in my truck when it was ready for me to pick up. Their knowledge and skills are superior and they don't try and sell you anything that you don't need. Preston's Garage is honest, trustworthy, highly competent and fairly priced. You won't get better service anywhere else. I highly recommend Preston's Garage for all of your automotive needs. And they work on motorcycles too. I'll be bringing my Harley there for anything it needs. read more
