Received this beautiful bouquet from my boyfriend for my birthday. Came wrapped in a secure box and it was hand delivered to my doorman because I wasn't home. They called me after to make sure I had received it. Really friendly staff and I love how the flowers turned out and the vase it came in is gorgeous!

Does this look like $76 dollars?

I'm the kind of guy that can walk into a florist and pick his own bouquet. (I could arrange it as well.) But in a jam or when not having the ability to visit a store, I don't mind picking up a phone and placing an order or doing so with one of the major flower delivery companies. A few days before Valentine's I read a blog posted by a concerned florist in which they were trying to alert consumers to the possible woes that affect online flower companies. I.e. bad or late deliveries, broken vases or poor selections of flowers. The orders (depending on the company; FTD, 1-800-flowers) are usually picked up by local florists and mailed out. One downfall of that ordering system is that the florist may not carry a bouquet exactly like the one described, so, the florist may warn the customer that they performed the duty to the best of their abilities. Or rather, they could offer "something similar." That last part; "something similar", a phrase that would resound in my ear after hanging up with their order-taker since placing an expensive order for a bouquet. Upper $70's is what I paid. I suspect that cost also covered taxes and delivery costs as well. So, I figured I would place an order with them via a phone call saving them the hassle of having to work via whomever they partner with to have or host their website. (Some florists pay a marketing fee to partner with a website) Unfortunately, they were grossly unable to offer me a bouquet like the one pictured. To which the order-taker made the comment "or something similar" and he did so under his breath before moving quickly to another facet of the process. According to the website, the style I'd chosen with the upgraded package, this bouquet was supposed to be pretty big and very surprising. Approximately 15" x 16.5" and I chose the upgrade to deluxe which should have made it larger. Instead, it wasn't much taller than a medium cup of coffee from Metropolis, roughly 12" in height. The width as well, was no where near the size dimensions listed on their website. Beyond that, the number of flowers or stems (rather) shown in the photo had me thinking this was a bountiful bouquet with many bulbs. But in reality, they'd given FAR less a quantity. Their perception of the bouquet was tiny in comparison. The flowers in this bunch are alstroemeria and red spray roses aka their "endless romance" bouquet. Both flowers do not carry a significant cost at any grocery, floral departments. I called and spoke with the manager on shift and she offered two options. They could replace the bouquet or give me a decrease in its cost. I opted for the latter; who could ask their lady to give up their bouquet for it to be replaced? The amount offered as discount was a low amount but I agreed. (In retrospect, how could I; a person who is not a florist say, "I would have only paid $30 for a bouquet that small." So, as stupid as it feels now, I left it alone.) And not to be a complete asshole, (Ah, eff it, I'll go all in) but I could create the same bouquet listed on their website for less than $40 dollars and the bunch would be huge. (Plus, I think I could do it with Whole Foods flowers.) For the high amount I paid, I could have created an enormous bunch at that. My woman was happy but not $76 dollars happy. Many of the spray roses didn't make it to Valentines day, so I picked up some tulips while shopping at Trader Joe's, which livened the bunch. This all started out as hoping to give to a "local" business; some, well, good business. I read reviews (good and bad) but figured I'd just push-on... Bad choice. I'd wager, they probably do their best when a customer places the order in-house. It'd be awesome to see what they offer to walk-ins. But with this experience, I'm kinda turned off to placing orders by phone. Back to Proflowers I guess.

Fast forward to now, and not only am I STILL ordering flowers from this amazing shop, I use them for all of my flower needs. Why? Because the talent, creativity, beauty, professionalism, and care that this shop gives is beyond incredible. I love the creativity and talent these artists embody, so much so that unless I am ordering for a very specific professional event, I always let them create for me. I've never been disappointed, everyone loves the creations I give them, and. I'm convinced that one holiday event is a guaranteed invite because the host knows my host gift will be something beautiful from FlowersFlowers. The staff and owner are kind and professional, and I've always enjoyed working with them. I highly recommend this shop.

The cost was $180, with tax and delivery bringing the total cost to $213. The flowers were nice quality, but the arrangement was very, very small (10 inches long by 5 inches high) and compact, especially for this price and for a table centerpiece. Given that this was a gift for the host, I was very embarrassed. There were 13 flowers (5 roses, 3 kale, 3 anemometers, 2 protea) plus some pedestrian eucalyptus filler. I called to ask if the wrong arrangement had possibly been delivered, and was told that this was a high quality arrangement. Quality was fine, value for the $$ was very poor.

All I knew was that I didn't want tall centerpieces, but rather something that was small, classic, and elegant. Lovely and my best friend put their magic together and came up with an amazing vision for the wedding. Lovely created the most beautiful bouquets and centerpieces for our big day, and I literally couldn't be happier. The flowers looked so fresh and guests raved about "how open they looked". My bouquet was the perfect size and mix of wedding colors. On top of being a creative genius, she was so easy to work with, and even did a sample for my wedding planner and myself to critique ahead of time. Communication was always super quick, and Lovely was so accommodating. She even came to the venue early to bring our bouquets for pictures and set up. Lovely, I really can't thank you enough for making our day so perfect!

She has great sense of style with the flowers and is very thorough with her work. I was pleased. I appreciate even more so that she cuts the flowers at the stem so she can put them in a mini-water-bottle thing to keep them fresh, as well. Really, I hope this business does well :) As someone else says, these flowers as the owner does them are clearly a work of art. Also, she has a cat who tends to make his presence known by sleeping amidst the flowers, and is very welcome to attention from customers. So those of you that are deathly allergic may take note. Those of you that love cats, will probably be more absorbed by the happy kitty than the flowers.

I met with Barbara and brought pictures of flowers from magazines, my wedding shoes, a swatch from my dress, groom/groomsmens ties and even one of our wedding invitations! As you can tell, I did not feel confident in being able to articulate just what I wanted -- so I gave Barbara big picture with many little pieces, hoping she could pick just the right flowers. And Barbara did exactly that. I didn't see any of Barbara's ideas prior to my wedding day -- I just put my trust in her. On my wedding day, the flowers were delivered by Barbara at exactly the right time, and I LOVED them! My bouquet was stunning -- and the other flowers for the wedding party were fantastic. The flowers were high quality and beautiful. Barbara had combined the right style and colors for just the right effect -- my bouquet was an amazing compliment to my dress and the groom's lapel flower was just the right size and color. I'm not a huge flower person, but I loved my wedding flowers and highly recommend Barbara and Ixia.
