Bryan (the estimator) and I had a Facetime call where I showed him everything to be moved and explained the very long carry distance (over 300' and an elevator) from my Condo to the truck loading dock. Bryan said the entire move could be done in a day, but we choose to split the move to two days which turned out to be the smart choice. I got estimates from 2 other movers and A-One's estimate was in the middle of the 3 companies, and I felt it was the most accurate estimate due to using Facetime and really taking time to ask comprehensive questions. On load day, the crew arrived and immediately started to haul boxes. Every item (boxes, sofa, bureaus, etc.) were hand carried out of the apartment. I asked why and they said using a dolly or cart could scratch the hardwood floors or damage carpeting and they didn't want to have that happen which I really appreciated. The team of 5 (Bob the driver) and 4 always courteous guys were in constant motion. Everyone was just awesome, taking great care of all of our stuff and also being extra careful about the Condo. After the Condo was empty, I left Fairfax about 20 minutes before the A-One truck and team. 12/29 was a Bay Bridge High Wind Day causing massive delays for all of us to get to Chester (Kent Island). The next morning, the truck and team arrived at the scheduled time and had us unloaded and set-up in 3 hours - again, all hand carried. Fortunately, at my new home, it was a short carry distance, but there were now a 2nd floor loft and bedrooms where the team had to carry many boxes and heavy furniture upstairs. Bottom line, the final bill was a couple of hundred dollars less than the estimate I received. I was very happy with the cost, and this was the best move experience we have ever had. As the team was leaving, they told me that they also offer tiny moving services, meaning if you want to move furniture from one room to another or just re-arrange it, they are available. I don't expect to move again anytime soon but I do anticipate using A-One for a tiny move in the near future. I highly recommend A-One Moving & Storage.

The movers and staff members are incredibly professional, efficient, and well priced. Furthermore, it is apparent that the moving staff enjoy working with each other, while taking the job seriously. Their interactions and camaraderie added levity to a difficult task for me and my husband (which was to downsize a household of 20-yrs)!! While I cannot mention all the highlights, I will say they moved a baby grand piano to the second floor of our new house. I gave them the choice of leaving it on the first floor (because the move looked difficult). The project manager, Zach, and team members were unified in placing exactly where I wanted, which was upstairs! I needed to relocate to Baltimore and was referred to Orly moving…read more Let me start by saying that Liz who was my contact was EXCEPTIONAL in the process of preparing for this move. The cost was comparable to the 2 other quotes I had received. On the day of the move, I ended up in the hospital, and with a few friends to direct the process in my absence, it really went off without a hitch!!!!!!! When it came time to deliver everything, they were efficient and careful with most things and nothing was broken in the process. there were 3 issues... 1) they could not get a couch out of the old apartment (Even though it was brought in) and they left it and I had to pay to dispose of it. 2 )When they unloaded everything unbeknownst to me a number of items were placed in the garage. (I am in a wheelchair and couldn't watch everything. I had to pay someone else to bring them in to the condo. 3 ) I spent $250 for $25,000 in additional insurance and after unpacking I realized the tub with an essential computer for my business was missing. The computer while valued at $800 was secondary to the files and records on it that were not all able to be backed up. When I tried to find out what happened they said they talked with the lead mover and they didnt know what happened to it. And because I was still sick from being in the hospital and couldn't unpack everything quickly, they said because it was 14 days later that I could not make a claim. While the move was accomplished and with relatively little trauma, I can not recommend Orly moving.

The entire process from getting an accurate quote, to the team showing up on time, taking care of the items (they did the packing up of my mom's stuff as it was too difficult for me), to moving items to their eventual place, was easy. I used a different mover (found on CraigsList) when I moved out of my home into my apartment and I ended up doing at least 1/2 of the work. For my mom's move I sent Liz pictures of what was in her room, the team showed up on time after calling me when they were a few minutes out, were kind, packed things with care, and made sure I understood the process. Frankly the bar is so low for this type of work, that it isn't hard to be disappointed (showing up on time? Charging what the quote reflected?). The local team is great. Payment was easy. They work their butts off. When I eventually move again, I will only use Orly.

The day of the move, the movers showed up early but it worked out. David A. and crew got the job DONE!!! They were about their business taking great care with packing and securing my property. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had already packed my master bedroom and later completed the kitchen/dining room. Therefore, they completed the remaining three (3) levels and did a FANTASTIC job. I've never experience such experts with great customer service. The last movers I hired, dropped a case of Cooperhawks Wine and never replaced it. I would highly recommend this company, if you are looking for quality service. The pleasant surprise was that since I had packed some of my rooms, the quote went down because the Time & Material was less. Once from Indiana to Baltimore City, and the second from Baltimore City to Michigan. The first time I moved with them, the moving coordinator I worked with was very communicative, checked in with me throughout the moving process (including when my items were being picked up), and was conscious of my anxiety levels. The second time I moved, I needed to contact Stephanie to remind her of upcoming deadlines, follow up with her when she said that she would get back to me and failed to do so, and was also unprofessional at times, uttering profanities like "retarded" in reference to the move itself when on the phone with her. What's more is that one of my inventory items never even arrived to me. They launched an audit to find the lost items but came back empty, so I guess one of their workers just walked off with it. The pay out on the audit also was less than half of what the items were valued at. Some of the items that were lost can't be replaced. Like how does something just walk off? You're a moving company that specializes in moving things, and you're one of the most expensive brands in the market with guaranteed service. On a positive note, the people who picked and dropped off my belongings were very professional, on time, and handled everything like glass. Don't think I'll work with Perry again.

My husband and I rented a unit with the intent of only having it for 3 months. We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

The fuel/transport fee was above average especially given the move location was only a 2 miles distance. They added an extra mover the day off bc we have stairs. Though that was their decision, we were charged above the quoted rate for the additional person. I paid cash, which gave us a 10% discount but with all the extra fees, the 10% isn't much of a savings. I still tipped and nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They also arrived on time and helped taped boxes that needed additional reinforcement. Boxes were placed on the appropriate rooms based on the labels. I would hire them again but would budget for 15-20% more than what they quote.

The worst moving experience of my life. Took them over 10 hours to move me into a two bedroom…read moreapartment. Scratched up furniture, broke items & stripped nuts/ bolts during reassembly. Leaving most items unassembled and taped or boxed up. The lead mover even threatened and did leave unfinished because I asked if the bolts on my bed were being stripped, as I could hear the drill stripping them. Then attempted to charge double what was quoted, charging me extra for an additional mover I didn't request and for unnecessarily used tape. They literally wrapped tape around a mattress and taped up sofa pillows and charged me an additional $165 for packing supplies used. But somehow managed to scratch up my entire dinette, chairs included. Giving them 1 star is being generous; there is nothing professional about them.
