Ivan's masonry - Interlocking pavers. Anticoble style

Ivan's masonry

(35 reviews)

I would like to recommend Ivan's Masonry for your outdoor improvement projects if you are looking…read morefor outstanding craftsmanship and value for your money. We hired Ivan's Masonry for two jobs: driveway renovation and a new stairway with walkway. From onset it was a long journey for us figuring out what material we will be comfortable with. Ivan patiently consulted us on every available material: concrete, stamping, coloring, and many styles from different providers of concrete pavers. None really resonated with our vision. After a month of research we ended up selecting clay pavers for their traditional look and lasting quality. The problem was that no contractor in our area would even consider working with clay pavers. Initially Ivan also refused but with some prodding he actually agreed to install clay pavers and did an amazing job. The team would start consistently punctually at 7 am and worked full days. Ivan, the owner, would work on the job 100%, including operating the equipment and setting the pavers. The site was kept reasonably clean and the process was well organized. We love the results. Our house became the model for the street as a first house with pavers. Many people complimented on the improvements and expressed the desire to contract with Ivan's Masonry. We are wising Ivan to prosper in his business, and for you guys - wishing you to choose your masonry contractor wisely. Go Ivan's Masonry!

Ivan Ivan Ivan... he's the MAN! You need a wall, he can do it all. Super professional,…read moreknowledgeable, and impressive work ethic. We shopped around for weeks, received so many quotes, then Ivan finally hit our budget with fair and honest pricing. He was communicative and efficient. He even recommended another subcontractor to clean up our landscaping (Roque, who was also very fairly priced). He placed a brand new foundation, reinforcing rebar, and a sweet gate (chef's kiss). I work in construction and Ivan passed the test with flying colors. Our wall was in terrible shape before Ivan and his crew came. I honestly was SHOOK when he did such a great job, especially considering the site constraints. They had to haul everything out A MANO (by hand). Bro... talk about hard working crew!! Check the photos, I have evidence. Stop shopping around and call Ivan already! HE'S THE BEST‍

I called and spoke to Luis the owner about a job I wanted done in my backyard that was time…read moresensitive. Luis came out not once, but twice because I changed the layout of we wanted to fit our budget but also so that the kids can have room to play in our backyard. Luis was eager, reliable, responsive, and professional. He listened to all of my wants and concerns and helped me complete my project in the timeframe I requested, which was about a week and a half. He also saved us money because he stated we did not need drains , when 2 other local masonry businesses said that we did. I had a ton of questions and sent many texts but wasn't sure when and if I was ready to start our project but Luis was patient, and answered all of my questions immediately. Luis had a personal family matter that he needed to tend to but made sure to update me and continued to show up to finish our project. The outcome was exactly what we envisioned. I opted for a layout of concrete and I also have some areas of SOD by the fruit trees so the kids can play around with fear of getting injured of the hard surfaces. It was a backyard makeover and we received compliments from our family members about how the backyard looked great, was functional, and how we were able to utliize the space we had back there that was dirt and weeds before. Complete transformation at a competitive cost. Our kids are now able to ride their bikes, razor scooters, and run around. We put up a canopy and a shaded swing. Thank you Luis and workers for a job well done!

It is very difficult getting a response from Dan. There were several times we attempted to meet up…read moreand it wouldn't happen. Finally he had me call him over FaceTime to discuss what needed to be done for our project. The issue is a shared wall between myself and neighbors and Dan said he has experience dealing with this. I sent him photos for our quote since he said that would be all he needed. This was on 11/30. I never heard from him again despite calling, texting, and reaching out thru Yelp. It's very disappointing but I guess it's to be expected when someone is already difficult to reach at the onset. In any case finding a reputable contractor who is reliable and response is key in any project. If you have someone that doesn't respond or reply its red flags for sure. Update: Thanks for responding, Dan. Your reply actually proves my point. For the record, I never asked you to help with anything "fake." I asked for a quote -- the one you said you could give based on photos -- and then you stopped responding. That's all this was about. If you simply told me this project was not for you that would have been the end of it. You ghosting and then responding to me on Yelp in such an unprofessional manner is what is crazy. Calling the situation "fake" also shows a misunderstanding of California property law. Tree-root damage to a shared wall is a real, common issue here, and nothing I described was unusual. Your decision to jump to insults is exactly why I warned others about your lack of basic communication and professionalism.

I had reached out to several contractors that day, and Victor was the first to respond. He was also able to get me a quote and a timeline for the project very quickly. We signed the contract a few days later, and amazingly, the entire project was completed within a week. Victor was exceptional with communication throughout the process and always made sure to confirm details with me before moving forward. His son Sebastian and daughter Penelope were also with him every time he visited the project. All three were extremely kind, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Sebastian even made a few suggestions that ultimately led us to pivot to a slightly different design, which we ended up loving. The entire project went incredibly smoothly, and we couldn't be happier with the finished retaining wall. Victor and his family were reliable, communicative, professional, and clearly cared about making sure we were happy with the final result. I would absolutely recommend Belman Pavers and look forward to working with them on future projects!

I contracted with Belman Pavers to do my backyard after my neighbor did. After being told the same…read morecrew would come back in two weeks to do my property, I signed the contract with him. It took 6 weeks for a different crew to finally show up. Not a great experience - they took out a drain that was supposed to have been left, put another drain in a wrong place, and badly sloped the back part of the property after insufficiently removing excess dirt. My back door now scrapes on the pavers when I open it. The sand was not done properly so I have weeds growing around my drains and along the house. They also left my garage door open when they dumped the gravel/sand, resulting in everything in my garage being covered in a thick layer of dust. And the kicker - when they finished the project, they left a pallet of extra pavers in my driveway, blocking my garage for 6 MONTHS. Victor then sent yet a different crew to do my front patio area. They were not able to do my stairs as promised. Would have resulted in stairs that were 9" instead of the 7" which is code. Worst part is that after the crew left, I discovered that 2 of my irrigation pipes were broken in 5 places. Victor promised to have someone come fix it - his subcontractor refused so he asked me to have my gardener do it and said he would pay him directly. My gardener did the work and despite over 2 MONTHS following up, was never paid. I finally paid my gardener the $400 for the screw up that Belman Pavers made. Months later, I am still trying to get Victor to pay me back. He will not pick up when I call nor will he respond to my texts. Buyer beware! DO NOT USE BELMAN PAVERS! Victor will tell you a good story but will bait-and-switch the crew, underperform, and will not honor his word.
