Brick and mortar locksmiths are under assault by low price internet retailers and roving 24/7 vans that claim to be local to your home, but who are really just out-of-towners -- frequently with sketchy credentials. Not so Prestige. Bring your locksmithing issue to them. Park your car in front of their store. Peruse their wares and ask all your questions. They will be answered professionally and courteously. Whatever you buy will be priced reasonably, and they will source what you need if not a stock item. I replaced some deadbolts and keyed handsets at the house recently and, silly me, thought I could rekey all the locks myself. Mistake. Meanwhile, the deal I thought I was getting online for the locks suddenly was not such a deal when you add rekeying kits and time to the equation. Doug sold me a new Schlage handset and threw in the rekey (normally $20) making the net lock cost less than the online purchase. And all done in an hour, including cutting 5 new keys. Prestige provides old school customer service the way I've become used to getting it. Sure -- I will continue to shop in Bezoland when it makes sense. I was at work and we accidentally locked our register drawer. We were in the biggest JAM and we called these guys who happen to be our neighbors.... he popped in within 5 minutes and unlocked our drawer within seconds. He was the nicest guy ever! As this review is late in being posted I was still driven to follow through because I was that impressed with the integrity of Vincent! Some months ago I needed to have my Lock changed Vincent came to my home and pointed out that my the existing lock was improperly installed. He then proceeded to corrected the issue as he was installing the new lock. I asked him what the charge for that was. His reply simply was, I could charge you as many others would but its such a minimal cost and part. As I can't remember his words exactly, I remember his act of kindness that day. These guys are awesome. I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone. Great customer service - Vince came out to look at a door lock on a new door I had just installed. The lock wasn't working properly so he opened it up and fixed the issue. He then noticed that the dead bolt wouldn't be able to extend fully into the new door because the wood in the new door hadn't been cut deep enough. He drilled that out and now the dead bold works properly. I never would have noticed this and am very appreciative of his help here. It's nice finding people and small businesses that really care about their customers and have an amazing amount of pride in their work and products. CAUTION: DO NOT USE!!!!! This locksmith is a TOTAL SCAM!!!!! Worst customer service ever!!!! Vinnie, the owner, is nasty, belligerent and completely unreasonable!!!!! He changed my locks and gave me the wrong keys. When I realized there was a problem with the keys, I called back, and another nasty man in the office told me that was impossible. Then Vinnie called me telling me someone else must have changed my locks after he changed them, because the keys worked before he left my home. Be careful when choosing a locksmith. Many of the ones that pop up in a search are just fronts using fake addresses (illegal). It's quite hard to find a locksmith with a physical location and who is licensed and insured. Prestige is a real company at a real location you can trust!
