I did my research, visited flooring companies and even got a quote from one, however I was very uncomfortable with the lack of customer service so decided to keep looking. I'm so glad I listened to my inner voice! My initial call went to voicemail and I was pleasantly surprised when William called me back a short time later. We talked about what I was looking for and he took the time to ask questions, answer questions - I never felt rushed. I decided to visit the store the following Saturday. Another surprise - at the other stores, the salesperson didn't really explain the flooring - just told me to pick out what I wanted. William took the time (even though I thought I knew what I wanted) to review the different types of flooring and pros/cons of each. Again, I never felt rushed. I was there at least an hour and was NEVER pressured to 'select one and let's get the measure scheduled'. I told him I was looking around and he was fine with that - reach out if I had any questions. I am one of those 'multiple visit, hard time making up my mind' clients but he was fine with that. I eventually selected the same flooring as with the first store and scheduled the measure. Since I had vacillated between 3 different colors, he brought all of them to the measure so I could look at them in my house against my furniture. I made a final selection and the next day, had the quote. Wow. $2000 less than the other store, which had seriously over measured some rooms! I paid the deposit and scheduled the work. The workers arrived on Monday at 9:30, introduced themselves and went over the rooms and process with me. I work from home so, while busy, I'm still able to keep tabs on what is going on. I had carpet installed 3 times over the past year and the difference between those contractors and rhem was like night and day. They were communicative, professional and displayed a true caring of the work they did. I felt like they took as much care as they would have if doing it in their own house. They moved my furniture - even heavy pieces, hung plastic sheets to reduce the amount of dust and cleaned up every day before they left. They made sure everything was right before moving on 'to the next step'. I always knew what they were doing and what was coming next. I had calls scheduled and they worked their tasks around them to reduce the background noise. They finished on Thursday afternoon and even vacuumed the stairs and upstairs open area just to catch any dust that may have settled there. I knew they would clean the areas they worked in but they went the extra mile. The next day, William came by to do a walkthrough with me, making sure I was fully satisfied. About two weeks later he called just to check in, be sure everything was still good. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new floors. I had saved a long time for them (yes, they offer financing but I wanted to pay cash) and when you save 10k and then use it for something, you really want that something to be perfect. Especially when it's something you see every day. Working with Robinsons Floors was, well, we'd have to come up with a whole new word to describe how great an experience it was. No sales pressure, happy to inform, great product, workers who clearly take pride in their work - what more can we ask?? I will be having additional LVP installed and would not call anybody else. Beware they pressure clients to modify bad reviews.** Warning! All American Flooring knows how to look like friendly flooring experts, but it's a sham. We've done floors before and got second opinions on AAF's project. A professional flooring company will prep and level your subfloor and correctly install new flooring on top. AAF does none of this, and tries to pass off shoddy workmanship as legitimate, which renders their warranty worthless. They tack on fraudulent charges if they think they can get away with it. When we pulled up our new floors two months later for repairs, we discovered AAF had added at least $626 in fraudulent charges: plastic sheeting that was missing and $500 of imaginary grinding. AAF does no leveling/flattening, but failed to mention this until after installing our laminate in rooms with low points of up to 1/2". *Installing on a subfloor that is not flat will damage the new flooring, so professional companies do not do this.* AAF said in particular they do not level wood subfloors, but they were also unknowledgeable in basic flattening, like sanding, shims, or extra underlayment to even out the floor. AAF insisted our floors met their standards, and they could not do better. Our project manager said if we wanted flat floors, WE HAD TO HIRE A SECOND COMPANY TO DO THE FLATTENING! (It was standard flattening. The company that did it was surprised ours could not do it for us.) AAF also installed everything incorrectly. Floorboards separated. Stairs were crooked with visible gaps. An incorrect transition piece was installed. Excess glue was pushing up the floorboards. All of these problems and more were present EXCEPT the board separation (which appeared just after) when AAF inspected our floors four (4) times and told us they met NWFA standards. Boy, they tried hard to convince us their shoddy workmanship was fine. I wish I could share everything I recorded, because it's hilarious. Their tactics included: using levels incorrectly, confounding levelness and flatness, saying some fixes would "void the warranty," saying that AAF "always" leaves gaps in their stairs, and they "can't touch the baseboards" (their words). We asked for the industry standards they claimed they met. The standards did not match AAF's work or words. Example: Acceptable unevenness is capped at 1/8" over 6ft. We had low points of up to 1/2". Another ex: The installer is responsible for leveling/informing the owner of any problems leveling BEFORE install. Confronted with these facts, AAF finally agreed to minimal repairs. We asked them to send appropriately skilled contractors this time, but when the contractors showed up, they said they saw nothing wrong and nothing they could fix. We had to have the boss call them and tell them they were authorized to fix the shoddy floors. Then they immediately pointed out the incorrectly installed pieces and said the floors were uneven and the stairs looked "unprofessional." So their contractors are trained to pass off AAF's shoddy workmanship, too. No wonder AAF pushed for us to pay 100% upfront. I guarantee they never would have fixed anything if we had already paid. They refused several times and tried ghosting us for 6 weeks. AAF eventually realized we knew about contractor fraud and attempted more extensive repairs at the last minute. They sent their best team to reinstall flooring after the other company did the flattening. This third team tried to fix way more than AAF had said they would. The quality was heaps better, but still not great (see photos). It made me nervous that they were attempting extra because we knew their low skill level and self-proclaimed lack of experience with subfloors. Some of their fixes were not the wisest for this building and will likely cause problems later. AAF reluctantly agreed not to charge us for the staircase since we will need to have someone redo it a 3rd time. They asked for a 3-star review in return, but we informed them a 1-star review is appropriate for a poorly skilled, deeply dishonest company.

We did a major whole-house renovation with Simmons (over the Christmas holiday and while we were living in the house), tearing down/adding walls, changing the trim, ripping out old dark tile and brown shag carpet and replacing with beautiful white oak hardwoods and lovely light carpet. The flooring installation was impeccable. We also had the interior of our home painted from floor to ceiling, added a secret bookcase door, and the Simmons team renovated a useless sunken second family room into a private suite complete with a kitchen. I cannot say enough about how thankful I am that I found Simmons, and working with Jose was an absolute pleasure. Our house went from VERY dark and terribly dreary to light, bright, and beautiful! He answered all of my questions. Picking the flooring was painless... I went with tile, new carpeting and new baseboards. The next step was Mike coming to my house and taking measurements and walking through the current flooring. This was a quick process, and he wrote the cost sheet up. In my opinion, the pricing was fair and I paid the required half up front. The job was quoted at 3 days but took more like 11 days. The crew was ran by Terrance Brooks. One thing I will say is important is who is in your home. You will be spending a lot of time with the contractors. Terrance and his crew were punctual and communicated with me well the time they were here. I had a great experience with DFW Flooring and Mike Spitzbeg! They really took the time to listen to my needs and provided a personalized, thoughtful approach. Even though the project took longer than originally estimated, Terrance Brooks and his crew did a great job!! I asked a simple question about a dent that I noticed on the front of my refrigerator after they hammered up my old floor tiles. A dent that I, my husband and parents know was not there the night before because we would have noticed it when we were hanging plastic drop cloths on my kitchen cabinets. I feel as though it was very unprofessional that Carl and Amber went directly to Mario after I showed them a picture of a new dent on the front of my refrigerator and they all discussed the situation without my knowledge. Then, Carl and Mario stood their ground together in front of me as the only woman in the room of my own house, accusing me of lying. I only had an innocent question as to if they had a tool that they use that takes out dents. I was thinking about simple ways to fix an inconvenience, but they jumped from A to Z with their reaction. They acted as though I was demanding a new, $5,000 appliance out of them. Carl even stubbornly talked with me and stiffened his body language and demeanor towards me when I first greeted him on the morning of the next day. He got me so upset with his stubbornness and bully-like approach that I started to raise my voice because he refused to listen to my reasoning. The argumentation became so loud that my husband had to cut his business phone call short in the front room of our house to see what was happening. Plus, Mario was even gone for approximately 30 minutes in the late morning on the first day of work (I have Ring camera videos to prove it), leaving his one worker to take care of the kitchen while he was away. The dent incidental could have even taken place during that time?! The contract stated that they would "take every precaution to protect them [furnishings] from damage." Mario and his worker had a cloth tarp draped over the front of the refrigerator, but not the entire front because there was a portion still exposed and not covered for protection. The exposed part is where the dent is located. I found all of this to be immature and unprofessional that two men would side against me in my presence in my own home and treat me like a second class citizen. I even had to stay away from my house for about a third of the time that they were working in my home because of their unwillingness to listen to me. I also was not crazy about the rubber caulking that Mario filled into the open space that they missed with grout along one section of my cabinets by the floor. When I brought it to Mario's attention that the grout was missing, I thought that he understood that I wanted the grout filled into the space like the rest of the baseboards had, not rubber caulking. I love how my floors turned out. They look great. You can tell that it's artisan craftsmanship. But, I have to tell my story on the internet because they all refused to act civil and talk with me sensibly in my home. So, beware that this company may argue with you on incidentals to your personal belongings.

Run, don't walk, away from this company…read more About a year ago, we had a bathroom leak that affected a patch of our wood floors in the master bedroom. Johnson Custom Floors assured me that I didn't need to get brand new wood floors for the entire downstairs, we could patch the bedroom, and sand the rest of the bedroom down and stain it. I had some wear on the rest of the downstairs floors, so they said they could do a polyurethane top coat finish on the floors to make them look brand new. We had a few high traffic areas in the kitchen where the stain was coming up-- so, per their idea, they added some stain to the topcoat to blend in. We were told we would need to be out of the house for 5+ days, but they finished very quickly, and we were back in either 3 or 4 days (can't remember). Within 4 days, the top coat started bubbling and flaking off in huge chunks! My floors looked significantly worse than they did before. I immediately contacted the company, who said it "must be because of the added stain" (which was their idea), and they said they'd come out and re-do the top coat. If you've ever had any experience with re-doing floors-- you have to completely move out of your house. So, having to move my entire family out for another several days to a week (at our expense!) was LESS than desirable. Also... my floors were in decent shape before they came, and now they looked 20+ years old. I wanted the job done right the first time. Our baseboards also had a lot of stain/polyurethane on them that I had to hand scrape off myself. The bathroom ended up re-flooding, and this time caused significantly more damage to the floors (we ended up replacing the entire downstairs). We started interviewing other flooring companies, and instantly everyone was pointing out how bad of a patch job Johnson Custom Floors did in the bedroom. They didn't putty over any of the nail holes, so you could see exactly where the patch was. All in all-- very, very sloppy work. They were one of the cheapest companies that I had come out, but at the end of the day, the job wasn't done right, and I had 0 confidence in them to fix their sloppy work and perform a much larger scale job.
