Coffee was just ok. We ordered two cafe con leche, one with regular milk and one with almond milk. Even though it was ordered extra hot, it was cold by the time my husband got home and we are only about 20 min away. I was hoping for something a little extra special seeing that they source their coffee straight from Colombia. Note: order your food before your order the coffee. They are handled separately and coffee was ready way before the food. With tip, we paid just under $60.

The first special we tried -- the iced Cafe de Olla -- was fantastic. It's nicely spiced with cinnamon, clove, and allspice and sweetened with piloncillo syrup without overpowering the strong espresso flavor. It's such a convenient location with plenty of seating -- check out the hammocks outside if you want to chill -- and WiFi if you want to get some work done. Or, work on some climbs by doing a drop-in at the bouldering gym. :)

My friend and I went right at opening time on a Sunday, it got really crowded within about 30 min of that. They have a cute photo booth on the premises too. You can use your credit card in it (so, no cash needed) and you get to choose color or black and white for your photos. It initially charged my card but didn't let us take photos. The kind of place you come when you want to slow down, sip something good, and let the stress melt off. The staff were friendly and kind, which made the whole experience even better. A quick Yelp search led me to HG Higher Grounds Coffee and Cafe which happens to be on the way to my next stop. It's located in an unassuming shopping strip with ample parking. Though the space is not the largest, the cafe has plenty of seating and has strong, free wifi. I was greeted upon entering and after taking a few moment to explore the menu, I decided on an almond milk latte with honey and cinnamon and a Southwestern breakfast bowl. The breakfast bowl was packed with eggs, black beans, green chillies, onions, bell peppers, potatoes, cheese, and topped with pico and avocado. I requested it to go thinking I wouldn't be able to finish it, so they placed chillies, pico, and avocado on the side. The bowl was delicious and filling! The latte was also solid. The pastries were tempting, but the bowl and latte were more than enough to fill me up. I'll have to come back for those!
