Great place a little hard to find, hint its in the big 100 Mill building. I got a cortado and and nitro brew. The nitro was smooth and creamy without any bitter aftertaste. Cortado was a little heavy on the milk but was still really nice, would get again. Lots of seating if you want to stop and work or just chat. read more

This location in 100 mill Tempe is hands down my favorite press coffee spot.They have the best blends. The baristas are friendly, ready to customize your coffee to your needs. Service is quick There's a little to go section with wraps, salads, and small bites from EAT by Stacey Weber. If you have a sweet tooth like me and love to grab baked goods at cafes don't miss out on the Chacónne pastries. For the uninitiated Pastry Chef Mark Chacón is a James Beard Award semifinalist. I was taking a spin class in the area and needed to kill time so I was looking for a local coffee shop and one of my friends recommended this place so we went. It's in a very nice area - inside of a commercial building and it looks like there's a lot of businesses in that area. When you first turn in there's barely any parking like 5 spots maybe and they are mainly 15 minute spots. So I had to pull out and go to one of the parking garages - they also don't validate parking so you are on your own lol. The coffee shop itself is tiny - there are some bar stools if you want to sit there but otherwise the lounge area of the building is nice and spacious to chill. Since it was my first time there I wanted to try their popular drink which was the espresso honey cinnamon shaken drink which was not overwhelming at all! It tasted like cinnamon toast crunch in a drink! The barista was super sweet as well and answered all the questions that I asked regarding the drinks. Try it out if you have time! read more

I enjoy going to press coffee for early morning meetings. This morning was no different. I showed up at 7am and ordered a drip coffee, ordered a SW burrito for myself and an avocado toast for my homie. As usual the folks at press were polite, helpful and made friendly small talk. The coffee was poured immediately and comes hot in a reusable press mug. (They also have to-go) I enjoy the coffee here because it is not burnt tasting like the big brands. If you get a seat near to the wall you will have an outlet for your laptop. I would advise against planning a business meeting here in the afternoon because it gets busy, crowded and noisy. Chalking my review of Press up to getting the wrong thing, but it really was just a 3.0 star experience for me. This particular Press Coffee is attached to an apartment complex and is currently in an area with a bit of construction going on. Parking wasn't an issue when I dropped by and there is a good deal of seating both inside and outside this place. Outlets are present if you want to hunker down and study and they do have food/pastries though it seems that the kitchen closes for food at a set time -- 3:00 pm if I'm not mistaken. Now I had heard a lot about Press and was so excited to try it. On this particular visit, I went for the nitro cold brew and sadly I was a bit let down by what I got. The nitro cold brew came out in a tepid shade of light light brown and even seemed to have a orange hue. I was asked if I was drinking beer or tea by a friend who joined me later in the day and my response of "nitro cold brew" left him somewhat confused. The flavor of the cold brew was much too tart for me and I was not the biggest fan of this drink -- as you can clearly see. However, I do think it was a case of me getting the wrong thing at the wrong place. Perhaps a latte to win my taste buds back? I am definitely open to going back and trying a different drink that might make me change my mind, but for now, I think a 3.0 is a generous rating based on the drink I had. read more

When I complained about the price and quality of the food he genuinely listened, and had the menu put back about a week later. I didn't expect my review to have any impact like that, and when I returned to grab my favorite cappuccino he made me feel like my voice mattered. Jimmy, truly went above and beyond to prove the quality Press has to offer, and how they take their customers seriously. I've lived in Europe I am very well aware of what a cappuccino is, I drink them EVERY. DAMN. DAY, yet this know it all tried to give me an "education" on what a cappuccino is. Really? Then, as I was using Apple Pay to pay, he tried to "educate" me on how to use it! Seriously?? All coffee options are medium roast, have a full flavor and are not bitter. I also love that they have a great in and outdoor seating area. Come here for good coffee, great food, and a unique menu. The cons are that this place is rather expensive, their WiFi is shotty outside, and the place tends to be pretty packed. I got the peanut butter shaker which was really good. It's cold brew, peanut butter powder, almond milk creamer, and all that is shaken up in a cocktail mixer. It was really good. Also their avocado toast is priced really fair, fresh tasting, and really filling. They also have variations of avo toast which looks pretty good. Normally I just have a good ol' fashioned "Cup O' Joe" but today I wanted to try something new and soak in the Coffee House experience, harkening back to my college days. I went to Press Coffee on Apache in Tempe. The first impression as I walked in the door was a clean, minimalist venue with a nice dining area and a few cubicles against the back wall for private internet surfing. Calming music was piped in through the speakers playing a Ritalinized version of "Chicago House Music" (overly repetitive, thumping, electronic instrumentals) but at a more soothing pace and a volume low enough to hear but not loud enough for Shazam to pick up. The atmosphere was clean an comfortable earning it a solid four stars. lol The staff was very nice, inviting and eager to help Java Initiates in their tour of Coffeeland. They appeared knowledgeable about their products and were helpful in guiding patrons in matching a blend to their needs. For this, I give the staff five stars. Now to the bad... I ordered a Mocha Latte and an Egg, Potato and Bacon breakfast burrito, since it was time for breakfast. The coffee took nearly 15 minutes before it was ready for me to go to the counter and pick it up (why give the patron a metal "order tent" for their table if you're not going to bring the order TO the table??) The coffee was cold to the point of being near-room temperature, which is a major negative for an order for "HOT" coffee. I will however, temper my score for the coffee, as it was still delicious a room temperature. Considering what I received for my coffee, I couldn't rightfully say that the "meh" 8oz coffee I received was worth the $8 "Holy Cow" price. I give the coffee a lackluster three stars. The breakfast burrito didn't arrive until a good 30 minutes after I ordered, had a seat and nearly finished my cold coffee. The burrito was well presented, but I didn't receive any of the sauce (chipotle) that was supposed to come with it... eh, it happens, I thought. Then I began to partake of this panini pressed beauty.... The presentation of the burrito was deceptively wonderful. However, in contrast, the flavor was completely bereft of any profile that could be reminiscent of the established food groups. Seasoning apparently is not even an afterthought.... it was unbelievably bland; so much so that I began to have fond memories of Hometown Buffet's fried chicken (also devoid of flavor but would seem as spicy as a Louisiana Crab Boil by comparison to this 'sawdust wrapped in a tortilla'). My only thought was, how do you find cheddar cheese, much less BACON, that has absolutely no taste to it???. I could have eaten a dissertation on the "Life Cycle of the Tardigrade"-compete with bibliography, that would have been more savory than this faux food folly. I Even with the fine presentation, I have to give the food a resounding "F" (one star). I can't give a crap about presentation if there's no flavor to start a baseline. Last but not least, a mangy, mop-head patron came in, casually dressed (which is no problem in an Arizona summer) but with no shoes!!! GROSS! At first I thought he may just be a Bohemian Beach Bum (which is not uncommon in coffee shops and tiki bars) but he drove off in a well tended, late model Toyota Camry... he's obviously a regular as he had a large order and B.S.'d with the staff at length like old friends.... but none of the employees explained to him any kind of dress code or sanitary policy. Grungy BoHo Dude: If you know you're leaving the house, at least try to have personal upkeep as nice as your car, Bozo. Staff: Post some kind of policy for entry into the establishment... you're serving food for heaven's sake. Nobody wants to order a Caramel Macchiato with extra Foot Fungus. Time's may change but standards must remain: "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service". It's possible that the employees didn't notice because of the volume of traffic during the morning rush, so I won't ding them on it. Overall. I have to give this joint a solid "Ho-Hum" 3 Stars. I may come back, I may not. Although the service of the staff was great, the coffee and the food just don't stack up for the gold-leafed price. read more
