I walked home and 10 minutes later the phone rings--they had had a cancellation and could fit in in 30 min. Yay me! And yay them for being nice enough to call back knowing I was eager to get the exam. My general experience was great. All three people there were super friendly and both Dr. Renke, the optometrist, and Phat, the optician, worked with me to get me contact lenses I was comfortable with (I'm at the edge between two prescriptions and prefer as strong as I can get away with). Another super friendly Vancouver experience! Btw, I didn't get glasses this time so I can't comment on that, but while testing out my new contacts they did seem to have a lot of cool-looking frames.

He said he would deal with me asap (on phone) Once ready to handle my situation -- he listened & answered all my questions thoroughly He offered very useful suggestions on some of my issues to do with poor eyesight on what I believe to be a faulty prescription from another large-scale optical chainstores. I liked his suggestions, relating to my need for Toric Contact lenses + eye glasses too. He offered to redo my eye exam, and I will do so this year. If you're on medical disability - not a problem being accepted. The eyewear on offer is stylish designer brand names similar to those seen in Holt Renfrew yet at reasonable prices that work within a limited budget. Jackson Go is very reserved, yet intelligent, thoughtful, considerate & good at what he does. He's really good about repairs or exchanging any flaw/ faulty things going on. He handles the situation effortlessly & flawlessly without objection. The upshot is two years later I've come back 3 times.-- so for sure, I'll be a returning repeat customer!

The day I went to the Main Street location for an exam was very busy with about 10+ customers. Staff were swamped and perhaps feeling the pressure of needing to attend to everyone without making them wait too long. I didn't wait too long and felt confident in the optician who did the examination. The person who helped me with frames did not rush me, was focused on what I needed despite all of the other customers milling around and was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Main Street can have a bad rep of being a bit snobby, but this was the friendliest shop I've ever been to on Main aside from Red Cat. It was actually disarming how friendly and unpretentious they were. The Manager was also so helpful, professional and very knowledgeable and I could tell he was totally on top of things and knew how to operate the business with the technical knowledge for the type of business it is. It felt like he actually cared about his staff, customers and how well this location performed. Superb job in a very challenging time when staff are hard to find, retain and keep happy. I'll admit that I originally went to another location where the staff looked through a big manual to answer my questions and I left not ordering anything because I didn't feel confident in what they were telling me. Showed them my script, the lady told me about the variety of lens brands they could sell me, but she recommended the least expensive one for best value and best experience with her customers. Price was reasonable and only took a few days. Someone called me to make a pickup appointment for fitting. I came in at the scheduled time, got my glasses back, all was good. easy, timely, hassle-free. I would totally come back for glasses. There is street parking in the neighborhood if you can find a spot, and some paid lots nearby.

ZERO Stars...This Port Moody Eye care Centre was the worst experience I've ever had with Dr. Yee…read moreand Her terrible staff. Why? 1) The eye test was completely incorrect based on my new eye test at another clinic. 2) Trying to get reimbursement for the charge to my medical plan was a battle with the horrible women at this centre. I had to return a second time to this Eye Centre and insist they credit my Blue Cross Plan. My new Optometrist informed me there was not credit to my medical plan, therefore I had to pay out of hand to redo my eye test correctly. 3) New optometrist redid the eye test, informed me that I had a fungal infection on both eye / lashes. It cost me $200. for the medicated drops, fungal pads and eye pads and the cost of the eye test because of this horrible Port Moody Eye Care Centre. This led to NO COVERAGE. 4) The volatility of two of the receptionists from Port Moody with rolling of eyes, denial that the credit didn't go through and refusal to acknowledge is typical of Port Moody businesses that lack customer services these days. I will be calling Blue Cross to determine if the credit has been applied to my plan? Avoid this terrible company and save yourselves the Grief.

As a result, my frame sits in the perfect position in front of my eyes, instead of sitting too high like all the other frames I have bought over many years. He even had a frame that was too wide for my nose, but I chose a nice Boss frame which fits me perfectly. Overall, buying glasses from Blynx was a very good service experience. Sammy is eager to find a frame that is exactly what you need and prefer. I bought Essilor progressive lenses which allow me to read my iPhone clearly, work on my computer, watch TV, or drive, all with perfect resolution and focus. I trust Blynx to match my needs, and to get my new glasses ready very quickly. I recommend Blynx most highly. I was a Costco Optical customer before, but after experiencing the great frame selection and the high level of care in fitting, I will buy from Blinx from now on.
