I walked home and 10 minutes later the phone rings--they had had a cancellation and could fit in in 30 min. Yay me! And yay them for being nice enough to call back knowing I was eager to get the exam. My general experience was great. All three people there were super friendly and both Dr. Renke, the optometrist, and Phat, the optician, worked with me to get me contact lenses I was comfortable with (I'm at the edge between two prescriptions and prefer as strong as I can get away with). Another super friendly Vancouver experience! Btw, I didn't get glasses this time so I can't comment on that, but while testing out my new contacts they did seem to have a lot of cool-looking frames.

Dr. Della Chow is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great "eye" for suggesting styles of frames. My husband routinely damages his glasses (or loses them) and they've always been able to offer repairs on sight or suggest replacements when all else fails. I've always had amazing service here and won't go anywhere else. Should also mention that their Covid-19 "cleaning and safety" protocols are also excellent.

If you wear contacts and have an astigmatism, do NOT go here. My prescription is still not correct,…read moreI have been charged both times I went in (I guess they do not guarantee their services) even though the set of contact lenses they got for me never fit my left eye properly, caused a burst blood vessel, then two weeks later when I tried the contacts again, I ended up with two blood clots that both burst. They do not stand behind their product, do not take ownership of ANYTHING, and have the audacity to charge a ridiculous amount of money to have the doctor even check that the prescription he ordered for you actually works for you. I have already sunk over $200 (they tried to charge another $75 when I picked up the second pair of trial lenses) and received nothing but a problem I've NEVER had with my left eye and STILL an improper prescription. I am currently looking for a good eye doctor in Surrey or Langley to fix this fiasco. By the way, the customer service girl I have now dealt with twice, attempted to lecture me on how much the doctor's time costs to order me a pair of trial lenses (which they get for free). She has not been educated on what customer service actually means. I don't fault the young, ignorant and rude employee. I fault the company that continues to reward her for her terrible lack of ability and obviously providing no proper training. I will NEVER go back to this place.

I've been to this clinic a few times now and tried a few of the docs. Each time the eye appointment…read morewas extremely rushed and impersonal, no matter which doctor. Barely 15 minutes to do the eye exam including photos, no hellos, asking about your day or interest in getting to know you as a patient or your eye history, just quick in and out and then "that'll be $140 please". My previous optometrist would spend 45min-1hr testing my eyes with all types of gadgets, multiple acuity, lens and distance tests, and took the time to properly review results and explain things in detail. Unfortunately I moved into Vancouver so cannot visit him anymore due to distance. This place is rapid fire and just seems to churn through patients as quick as possible. Couldn't believe how fast the eye appointment and testing took, in and out within 15 minutes... how is that enough time to properly evaluate someone??? In my opinion, it's not. After a brief "exam", I was directed over to the eyewear section where one can buy frames and lenses, at what I consider to be VERY high prices. No thank you! Felt like a totally rushed and impersonal experience, and will NOT be returning ever again. I was just a number here, herded between multiple rooms, people and testing stations, way too fast. Never going back.

I was…read moreskeptical that a chain of much less costly frames would offer the same quality and knowledge in both product and customer service. I was WRONG. The day I went to the Main Street location for an exam was very busy with about 10+ customers. Staff were swamped and perhaps feeling the pressure of needing to attend to everyone without making them wait too long. I didn't wait too long and felt confident in the optician who did the examination. The person who helped me with frames did not rush me, was focused on what I needed despite all of the other customers milling around and was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Main Street can have a bad rep of being a bit snobby, but this was the friendliest shop I've ever been to on Main aside from Red Cat. It was actually disarming how friendly and unpretentious they were. The Manager was also so helpful, professional and very knowledgeable and I could tell he was totally on top of things and knew how to operate the business with the technical knowledge for the type of business it is. It felt like he actually cared about his staff, customers and how well this location performed. Superb job in a very challenging time when staff are hard to find, retain and keep happy. I'll admit that I originally went to another location where the staff looked through a big manual to answer my questions and I left not ordering anything because I didn't feel confident in what they were telling me. I totally recommend the Main Street location.
