Driving back from the redwoods, I realized I needed an oil change. I came across Premier Oil Change after calling several places that had no availability the next day. Luckily, Premier Oil Change doesn't take appointments so I was able to take a quick detour there on my way home. I can honestly say this was the best oil change experience I've ever had. We pulled our car into line and were quickly greeted by an extremely warm and friendly person asking what kind of drinks we would like. We waited about 20 minutes for our turn, sipping hot chocolate and coffee. Once we were up, every step of the oil change process was quickly explained to us. When we turned down additional services, there was no pressure from the guys working on the car. Everyone working there appeared so happy that we inquired about what it was like to work there. We were told that the owner is an amazing boss, that the place is a local business, and that they are paid well and look out for each other. There was even a mission statement posted on the wall that read: "Our Mission: To provide premier service, love people, and add value to our community." I continue to utilize the drive through oil change service, even though it's a bit pricier. I justify it by telling myself that I'm paying more for convenience. That being said, I would strongly suggest that you don't fall for any of the add-ons or additional services they offer, and believe me, they will offer a ton. It's the way they operate. They will try to upsell you by offering multiple services and add-ons. Before I was aware of the grossly inflated pricing, I am ashamed to say I paid $41 for a new cabin air filter. They showed me how disgusting mine was, and I have allergies, so I went for it. To my dismay, a quick amazon search showed me that I could purchase my own brand new cabin air filter for a mere $11. There are some things that are worth making an appointment and paying someone else to do. I continue to enjoy my free beverage while I wait for my service to be completed, and I appreciate that they offer the opportunity to get said service done without an appointment, but unless you're someone with dispensable income to burn, I would recommend you stick with the oil change only, and avoid being swindled. The staff were not well coordinated as at least 4 customers were served on the 2 bay operation at their Yuba City location ahead of me. I waited while the manager talked on the phone for nearly 10 minutes. The customer ahead of me was very upset for likewise reasons. No way a care 4 behind in line should ever get serviced and leave ahead of your own. Premier Oil Change is going to be loosing business quickly after taking over this location from previous owners; Sierra Lube Plus. The staff was very helpful and friendly! It's fun to drive through with kids, as there are lights that flash and car wash is always fun :) The exterior of my truck was cleaned decently well (the grill and chrome is a bit dirty still). Unfortunately there were no rags or spray bottles to clean out the interior, which is usually available by the vacuum area at other car washes. The vacuum suction also seemed to have low power... Additionally, the price online for a month was a couple bucks less than the actual price we paid for the base level month membership. Oh well, we are going to have to make the best of it! Overall, the $9 is much better than me hand washing my giant truck. I would just recommend some sort of towel station! read more

Premier does not have a Yuba City Yelp page. I tried to post about Yuba City Premier but got no where. I posted a review sometime ago about having everything done, transmission, radiator, and oil changes. I had not fluids in the radiator and transmission. I had these problems fixed with a mechanic. I went to Premier oil change with my receipts and they refunded my money for the trans and radiator! I wasn't going in for my money back. I was going in so they could have a training moment. Turns out the person that worked on my SUV was no longer working there. So I have increased my rating. read more

Pretty good place to go for an easy oil change. It has its upsides and downsides. The upsides: 1) The best part about this place is the convenience in that no appointment is necessary. Just drive on up and get in line in one of their three drive-thru bays. 2) You don't have to get out of your car and go sit in some dingy waiting room thumbing through 2 year-old issues of Car and Driver for a half-hour. 3) The staff tend to be courteous. 4) Small amenities like being offered water or soda while you wait. 5) They allow you to bring your own fluids/filter for changes. You will still pay a standard rate, but I like that this is an option where some places can be more rigid *cough* LesSchwabEureka *cough* and insist on using their own stuff which I don't always trust. The downsides: 1) Snake oil. You can easily refuse whatever they pitch, but they are required to make several pitches for a variety of fluid additives, fluid changes, and minor treatments (air filter etc.) that are generally non-essential but will increase their profits. 2) Top offs: Sometimes they're too good at this. I like to stick to dealer-manufactured fluids for my car and was able to communicate that to my primary tech. Unfortunately there were 2 or three other techs who were buzzing around as well, and one of them poked his head under my hood in passing and before I knew what was happening he was topping off my coolant reservoir with non-OEM stuff. Not the worst thing in the world, but kind of annoying. 3) Fluid changes: This again relates to my preference for dealer fluids. When I mention this to techs in almost any shop including this one, they always say "Well we use this generic brand all the time." That's all well and good, but sometimes OEM's have special formulations for the cars that they manufacture which can make a huge difference in how the car runs in the long-term. This is why I often bite the bullet and buy genuine OEM fluids. The fact that a generic brand is used regularly by the shop does not give me any confidence that it will not have an overall detrimental effect on my engine/drivetrain. I'll keep coming back, and what wins me over by far is the convenience. There's nothing better than being able to show up whenever you want and be done in about 20 minutes give or take. At appointment-based places I am rarely able to get my car serviced on the spot and have the work done so efficiently. ----- I don't know who invented the universal rule that everybody at these (non-chain) quick change places has to call each other "sir" at the end of every statement, which sounds kind of ridiculous when you're just talking to your coworkers all day, but I guess that's beside the point. I just think it's curious that you could probably go to a quick change shop on the other side of the country and there is a 98% chance that the same rule will be in effect. read more

Went to wash my car Oct 7th at new Central Point. I couldn't believe it! The new location looks so professional - it's not good.

I've gone here twice (once in 2015 and once this past month). It's pricey since I have a high mileage vehicle and don't use regular oil. So I've gone other places just to save when it came time for my oil changes. How come this last time I went, they noted that I had not been in a year, took off my filter and said I had an oil leak. Ha! I just had a new oil pan put on and a tune up. I'm paranoid about stuff leaking so I always check my car regularly. I didn't buy it, but what could I say? Literally the very next day, my car was hemorrhaging oil when I pulled out of my parking spot. This persisted for a couple of days and I took it to a shop that quoted me over $1,000 to fix it, then they changed the filter and added oil and told me to think on it. My Papi checked my car and said that there was no oil leak anymore since the filter was changed by the second shop. So, now I know that it was Premier Oil that put my filter on wrong just to spite me I guess, I don't know why they would do that, but they told me I had a leak when I know I didn't, and I leave there with a major leakage that turned out to be the oil filter being put on wrong!! I can't with this place. I'm beginning to think that my car is just not safe in Humboldt. Are there any trusted shops out there???!!!! Somebody let me know!!! read more

These are my oil change guys!! They're also very kind, professional and super on it! We bring all of our vehicles here and they keep track of us and give us a free oil change once every 3-5 times depending on how much we spend and it's only $40 or so and they're quick!! Even when it's busy it's relaxing and you can have a free water or soda. They also seem to be a great group of guys well-trained in customer service and car maintenance and seem to enjoy their jobs which is really pleasant to witness. Thanks Fellas!! read more

Needed to get my grandmas oil changed while I was in town visiting her so I took it to Premier based off of the reviews I read. Drove right up and and they got to work. The mechanics were fast and professional. Did not try to sell me anything that was not needed. I also purchased new windshield wipers and they installed them. Yes they talk fast. Yes it is busy. But it was an excellent experience. Knowledgable, friendly, pretty quick. These guys are in business to make money. They will try to upswell everything to anyone. That doesn't mean it's unethical or sexist. I went in for an oil change. Left with 200.00 worth of preventive maintenance. This the very first place I have ever been too that pulls the ECV and shows you what it looks like. I'm thankful that they did. The rough idle is gone. I usually change my own oil but I don't have the facilities to do so anymore. Great service great products very friendly. Highly recommended. read more

I just got my '07 Chevy Roadtrek checked at Premiere before a big trip, and they were awesome! Super efficient, my oil change light flickered on and off the day before a big trip, and Tim showed me a trick to reset it, and it worked! (Turn on and off engine, turn key two turns to right until all lights come on, then off, press gas pedal to floor 5 times, restart engine). He said I could wait on the oil change because all looked good and I wasn't at mileage recommended for my vehicle, they did a safety check, tire pressure, etc. and didn't even charge me! I just left there. Today, like the last time, they offered me a beverage but never produced one. In and of itself that is not a big deal but I think it is exemplary of the service. As usual they sprayed and wiped the windshield. It's raining today so it seemed kind of silly but I didn't think much of it. Then I got out into the rain, turned on my wipers and smeared something they had applied all over my windshield, making visibility a big problem. Whatever it was it washed off pretty easily at a gas station. They really should not make windshields opaque. The last time I was there they put the radiator cap on wrong and it boiled out. That time it just happened that the radiator boiled out while I was driving across the Golden Gate Bridge. That, obviously was very bad. They are fast and convenient but you need to check everything they do. They create safety problems. read more

If you want to get screwed out of any warranty your car has come here. I had my tranny fluid changed or I should say I paid for it to be done in May 2017. In June 2017 my tranny went out. I had an extended warranty on my car. I had it towed into Pro Pacific. The tranny still had the original filter from the factory on it & the plug from the factory still in it. If I didn't have the paperwork from the previous month where I had my tranny fluid "changed" my warranty wouldn't have been honored for lack of maintenance. I still had to put up a fight because all signs showed it wasn't maintained but in good faith I paid for it. I was almost out $4500 because they didn't do the service I paid for. You're better off going to an actual mechanic so you know it has been done correctly. It will cost you less in the long run. read more

The service went well,but they didn't check all the things on their check list like the rear wiper which I have they just put n/a for the check. They're are there to help. You don't need to feel pressured to accept the up-sell. It's either necessary or preventative maintenance. They found that I had an oil plug from a Mercedes on my Explorer and replaced it for free. They removed my air filter and in the process broke a part to the heater. They rushed down to the Auto Zone, which was about to close, to get a new part and replaced it. HONEST!!! It was a $60 part. Not to mention, they will stop what they are doing and check and fill your fluids for free if you pull up to the back (on the Shell side) at any random time of the day. Anyone with a negative review on them is foolish, and obviously didn't understand the service. Great job Premier! You have a customer for life. I'll be in today as a matter of fact. read more

Amazing. We were driving through on our way home to Arizona. Googled oil change Eureka and this was top search. As soon as we drove up the nice, clean cut young man greated us, offered us hot chocolate, coffee and water. You can tell these guys are serious about what they do. You can hear them calling out to each other as they work on the incoming vehicles. If this was the best drive thru hamburger to be had in town ....this is where i would come!! I love coming here. My sister told me about them a couple of years ago, and I've been a return customer ever since. Oil changes are $43, and you sit in the car, with a complimentary beverage of choice, and get filled in on what's up with your vehicle while they work. I get anything they recommend, it's affordable, it's quick, everyone is positive and upbeat, I can't think of anything negative. I guess I could say I wish they did more, like brake work; I'd come here for that too. If you haven't been here, try it! You'll enjoy it and wonder why you hadn't before. read more
