I never recieved a call but then they send me a bill with no invoice or break down for $360 some dollars. I called and they said they would reverse those charges minus the 30 minutes of labor the internet said it sould have took. (They said it took 1 hour 45 to replace a toggle switch. ) I picked the machine up today and I should have inspected it but didn't only to find a spindle that wasn't attached to the switch they replaced was loose. It almost seems spiteful. The new manager was nice and tried to work with me but now while the part they fixed works great I have to find another company to tighten up the spindle. I still haven't recieved a refund and as a retired veteran I am finding it hard to swallow a 369.02 charge on top of the 197.50 initial charge for a toggle switch. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with this company. Update i did recieve a partial refund.

The reason my locks were cut and replaced is because the employee who checked me in, keyed in the incorrect unit number. The double locks were cut off and I was able to get my stuff just fine. Mice have been running amok for years. Why didn't I leave? It was mostly my girlfriend's things there and she lived within walking distance, so it was easy for her to get them. A few years ago, I think they were repairing the roof, but a bunch of white paint chips and/or spackle fell into my unit and it covered everything in our unit. They did offer to vacuum the chips from the unit. But I needed to be there to open it which was difficult to leave my job at the time. I asked for money off of the rent for one month and was told they couldn't do it. I think this was a Customer Service failure. In the end, I spent 2 hours cleaning it myself. When my rate went up to almost $300 per month, I moved to a smaller unit so the rate would go below $170 per. About a year later, the rate was up to $200 per. Last year when the rent was above $300, I went on the internet to get a lower rate, but was told by the location's staff that the internet rate was only for new customers, but it didn't state that on the internet offer. I just felt they didn't care at all for me, a loyal customer. My guess is that the Wash DC market has a high storage demand, thus higher rental rates. So, last September I found these rates are simply unaffordable. After telling my girlfriend, she moved her things into another family member's unit and now I'm completely done with the unit. I'll never go back to this facility.

Instead of acknowledging the poor construction, management sent threatening notices and showed zero understanding for families. From the very beginning, management was unprofessional. When I reported move-in damages, they actually had a former tenant (who also worked in the leasing office) call me and accuse me of lying. At move-out, they hit me with over $1,000 in carpet replacement charges for the entire apartment, even though the stains were only in one room. To make it worse, they tacked on petty charges like mailbox keys. They automatically replace all carpet instead of attempting cleaning, which is unfair and predatory. Between the unprofessional staff, thin walls, and move-out charges, this complex has been one of the most stressful rental experiences of my life. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
