I got a 90 minute full body massage, and it was everything. To start, there was a very detailed intake form to fill out during booking. It was briefly reviewed at the beginning of my visit to ensure that all of my needs were met during service. During my massage, the therapist, Loren, used the cupping technique which I had never experienced before. I felt all types of tension being released from my body. It was such a moving session mentally physically and spiritually! I booked a 2hr myo w/ cupping and stretching massage and it was intense but I feel like a rebirth and surgery went on! Chrissy is an incredible healer. She knows the body with precision, she knows how people's bodies respond to the stresses of daily life. She's by no means a one size fits all healer, and I've absolutely been to those practitioners for massage in the past... you know, the ones who do what they do and that's what you get. Chrissy wants to help your body heal, and she absolutely knows how to ask, listen and respond to what your body needs to get rid of pain and function more ease-fully. She has many techniques at the ready to aid in the process, and moves seemlessly from one to another in the call and respond process with your muscles. I was gobstopped by her ability to find pain I had forgotten was still living in my body. She sought it out, steadily, used exact techniques to determine the location, and then knew exactly how to make it disappear. I didn't realize the diaphragm could get stuck on a rib and cause pain! Chrissy has a remarkable mind for anatomy and the body's many many automatic functions. I had come in for my lower back, but low and behold the majority of our time she spent on my upper back, because that's what had to be released first. Then she went across my whole body and did that again and again: every time a different knot or pain, every time, she found just the right way to address it and it's unique needs. By the end, I felt attended to. My body had been cared for, and it was time to drink a lot of water and rest. The pain in my ribs is gone, and I am deeply in her debt for releasing so much tension and habit from my muscles. Her work is exemplary, and her warmth is inspiring. You just can't ask for more. And, on top of all that amazing that is the Sominbo experience, my visit was powered by a Groupon! I was pretty positive I was going to get the one size fits all treatment as a consequence of the discounted cost for my visit; not even remotely the case. To be honest, my experience with massage has been up to now mostly superficial relaxation, not healing. I had an awesome treatment from Chrissy! Prior to starting our session she asked me what was going on with my body and if there were any particular areas she should focus on. I was preparing to take a test for my career which had me all types of stressed. I also had some adjustment issues with a new schedule for my children. My mental blockage was REAL! I gave her some medical history and hopped on the table. She was very attentive. It was like she knew intuitively where my tension points were (i.e. I said lower back pain, she went to the exact point of my pain without me having to point it out). Chrissy truly has magical hands.
