Though we had a break after I moved to the Westside, pure chance put us back in touch and thus began my long distance love affair with being in the #naturalnailgang under Winn's artistry. One of my favorite parts is that it's just me and her. No crowded salon, no noise, no bad music. Just one-on-one time where I'm not rushed and she can focus on every detail. My nails are a big part of my identity. Anytime I've tried to go somewhere closer out of convenience, it's ended in at least one broken nail and a lot of regret. At this point, I don't experiment. I go to The Nail Tailor for the best nails in San Pedro and beyond.

Just make sure to make an appointment…read morebeforehand :) I can't remember the names of the previous people I've gotten but this most recent one, Linda did my gel pedicure. She was amazing and so kind! She kept checking up on me and making sure water temp was fine, my nail shape was fine before putting the polish on, and making sure the polish color was fine before completing my whole pedicure. Overall, I recommend!

I brought a friend for my birthday. I called and checked for availability ahead of time. I showed the front desk liaison 3 different designs. I communicated I'd want the least inexpensive one and I don't want nail art on each finger. They assured me the design would range from $35 or less especially since I'm not getting nail art on each finger. This seamed reasonable, but my friend and I left feeling SCAMMED. My friend and I's price both ended up being $110 (not including a tip). Which is outrageous because she got a different design on each finger!! I got chrome/cat eye and 1 or 2 stars on 4 nails total. They kept us past closing time, which is why we did not take the time to argue. Although, even two weeks later I look at my nails every day and I think..... my nails were not worth $110. The stars are smeared and it will never be worth $110. In the past, I've never paid more than $85 at this salon for gel-x (no take off) with a simple design. I even checked online to verify design minimum and maximum price ranges. At most, I should have paid $90. My friend got an acrylic fill with a design and she also feels like she over paid with how inconsistent the line work is and.. IT WAS A FILL. I've recommended lots of friends here in the past, but it seems like they are kind to you so they can secretly increase the price. My friends that ended up going here, shared with me they will not go back because the pricing isn't fair. I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you're comfortable paying $110 minimum for anything nail related. What would have been better is communicating and itemizing why a design is at a certain price point. From what I see online pricing, I should have paid: $65 new gel-x (no take off) + $15 cat-eye + $10 1-2 stars on 4 fingers = $90 Where did the extra $20 come from??? I get this economy is different now, but I tipped $15 too. If I'm paying $125 for nails, the design should have reflected that. AND JUST TO CLARIFY THE MANAGER'S RESPONSE: NO ONE PAID $99!!!!!!! This response is a representation of their lack of accountability. This was my experience and Yelp allows you voice out about that.

I wanted her to take creative freedom to do what she thought was good for my nails in the budget I had and I love the results. It was easy to setup an appointment by text. I love the shape of my nails! I got the gel manicure ($65) and 4 of my nails have glittery/sparkle flecks that were individually added. There were so many sparkles and glitter options. Mine has an oyster shell appearance and is really fun to look at. The process took 45 minutes but passed so quickly because there was a TV for me to watch Netflix. I ended The bad: It's $8 per nail for an embellishment so it can get pretty pricey. It makes sense with how much meticulous care goes into each nail and how each fleck of gold and glitter was placed. I probably cant get these nails too often due to cost but it was definitely worth pampering myself with some self-care for a special occasion! The interesting: I ended up watching Love is Blind's reunion even though I didn't see any episode from that season. This is the 1st nail salon I've been to with individual private rooms. The room had a side chair as well if you bring someone with you.

I know it takes around 3-6 sessions to start seeing changes skin texture wise and fine lines wise since they usually are immediate with the glow factor, but my skin has definitely been feeling a lot healthier and taken care of since then. I have my first post facial photo a day or two after treatment from December (pink shirt and fresh fluffy hair) and this week's facial photo which was taken after 1 week from treatment (outdoor exercise sweaty hair ew). The difference from these two is very subtle, but I can definitely see more glow. To be frank, it's almost unnoticeable from these two pictures, but my face feels great. The fact that the glow is still visible after doing a whole mile in the sun and wiping my face with my shirt or my bare hand is impressive. It's like a moisturizer I can't rub off. So dewy! Now, my skin is sensitive, so on my most recent one I unfortunately got a lil pimple by my nose. I had really dry skin coming for the 3rd facial so Ayumi did her best to rehydrate the dull, but my skin juuuust had to act up. The moment I told Ayumi what happened she called me back in to have a quick "soothing" treatment for that pesky lil' pimple and she definitely made sure to address the minor sebum build up issue from the possible irritation that happened. The fact that she even called me in to address it was very thoughtful and I can tell Ayumi is very genuine. I honestly look forward to coming back to her every month. The massage and the hot stones during the facial feel soooo nice. I feel so relaxed every time I come here--especially after long 12 hour work shifts and nursing school clinicals/classes. I hope to come more. Thanks KIREI and Ayumi!!
