It sits just on the outskirts of the Hutto city limits and despite still being somewhat in the country, there are some new homes next to it. There are quite a number of headstones from the 1800s and there are many veterans buried here including a couple of confederate soldiers. The cemetery has a single lane gravel road running through the sections. This is still an active cemetery judging by a few very recent burials. There is a Texas historical sign at the entrance that tells you some great historical facts and is included in the photos of this review. This location is well manicured and the headstones are well arranged, not scattered about. You'll find many well cared for headstones, but there are no above ground mausoleums. This is one of the nicest cemeteries worthy of spending some time walking through.

This is an older graveyard from the 1800s and the graves are laid out somewhat randomly. One nice thing about this cemetery is that there is a group of dedicated volunteers who keep it manicured and clean the headstones. This is no longer an active graveyard, as the newest graves are from the 1930s. Like many cemeteries from the 1800s, sadly many of the graves belong to infants and children. As a matter of fact, of all those buried here, I could only find 3 people over the age of 60. If you're into historical places, then this may be a point of interest for you. It is directly behind the Palm Valley Lutheran Church which is a historical building. All the graves are very well laid out and ordered primarily into family burial plots. There are acres of old headstones , recent ones and some waiting to be interred in their future plot. There is a single paved lane that runs through the center of the cemetery dividing the old and the new graves. I'm sure many of these headstones belong to the Who's Who of Round Rock and local history. This is still an active cemetery and I found several recent graves from 2022. There is also more room for additional plots on the back side should you decide this is the place to be your forever home. The church had a historical marker, but I did not see one for the cemetery. The pictures in this review don't fully capture just how beautiful this place is.

This is another one of those cemetery plots in the Austin area that just seem to show up out of…read morenowhere in the middle of a residential area. This cemetery sits at the end of a cul-de-sac on Teton Drive, which is just a few blocks from US 183 on Ohlen Road. Sadly, the cemetery which sits on less than an acre is in a shambles and in a very disorganized state. It is completely surrounded by residential homes on all sides, but this would've been in the middle of nowhere at the turn of the 20th century, which is how old some of these markers are. There are many older headstones here blended in with some newer ones as recently as 2020. Most of the cemetery is primarily green space with lots of toppled over headstones. That leads me to believe there may be many people buried at this location which may have had wooden markers at one time which have long since decayed away. Why there are some recent interments amongst these much older ones in such a dilapidated and disorganized cemetery is beyond me. I suspect this may be a African-American cemetery. Unfortunately, at this time, it does not appear that any attempt has been made to restore any of the fallen or broken headstones. At least the photos below will be added to Google maps.

The cemetery, once in an open field, was surrounded by the Wooten neighborhood when it was established; eventually the high fence was added. Note: The church's website shows its name as "St. Paul." On Find a Grave, the cemetery is listed as "St. Pauls." The sign on the cemetery fence reads "St. Paul's Baptist Church."

It occupies roughly about 4 acres and most of the burials have taken place in the last 50 years. There are quite a number of service members buried here, but I did not find any WWI vets. Many of the gravesites have used the natural materials of the Hill country and embellished them with some personal items. This is still an active cemetery with many recent graves, however, I did not spot any markers from the 1800s. For the most part, the cemetery is well manicured and taken care of, and even has a paved road, running through it from the front gate to the rear gate. The graves and family plots are randomly arranged according to the topography of the hillside. Access to the property is simple with just an unlocked gate and a low perimeter wall. Many of the decedents here may well be associated with the Whitestone church just 100 feet away. There is also a recently built columbarium for those who wish to store their ashes here. Normally, this would be a nice quiet place in the country, but that's not the case with the noisy traffic on 620. I did not spot any Texas historical sign nor any information on making this your forever home. This acre of field a few miles outside of Elgin on FM 1704 contains less than 25 graves. This…read moregraveyard is relatively recent considering the oldest grave is from 1972. Most of the graves here are after the year 2000 and most of them have the name McShan. Several of the headstones actually have photographs of the decedents posted on them. It's quite clear that the McShann family was of African descent. There are still a few graves that have no headstones, only the funeral home plaque. There is still room for about another hundred graves.

However, today this graveyard is surrounded by housing, retail and the tollway. Sadly, many of these graves are of infants and of those who died in their 20s and 30s. The newest decedent that I could find laid to rest here is from 1953. So if you're looking for a little bit of old Texas history surrounded by all the new urban growth, then you should visit this one small acre plot just off the side of Louis Henna Blvd.
