I had an awful experience with the Precision Tune on Hixson Pike. Precision Tune substituted non-OEM parts on me without my knowledge. Lenny claimed it was the right part, but later the Nissan dealership's mechanics identified an exhaust leak into the passenger cabin as a gap between the non-OEM part that was allowing the exhaust to escape containment. It's hot gases under pressure. A gap is a failure in that scenario. I have photos of the soot from the leak clearly outside the containment area and a photo from the dealer mechanic of the gap. So what happene? Did the Prevision Tune oil change tech just bolt on a non-OEM part and say "Oh well," or did he just not even notice the gap. Precision Tune on Hixson Pike refused to do anything at all to make this up to me despite all the times Lenny claimed to be my friend. Watch out for people who are only friendly to you when they're taking money from you but turn their back on you when you need them. I'm out a lot of money from the non-OEM part that got substituted without my knowledge plus the high labor charges Precision Tune hit me with. People that smile in your face when the going is good and then get angry against you and turn their back on you when you need them are not the kind of people I can trust. Do what you want, but I'm going to avoid Precision Tune on Hixson Pike. I'm out over a thousand for nothing and found out today that Lenny is a fake nice guy. He's really friendly when he's milking you for cash, but in my experience he's a surly jerk when he's not working you for some cash. Which Lenny is the real guy? Is the owner any better? read more

Lenny tried to scam me. Threatened me then begged like a dog for 50 cash under the table. under the "no surprise act" it's illegal to preform a service before telling the price. Lenny said nothing about any charges when I needed my battery tested. Then came back and tried to charge me 100 dollars for a test. Without ever telling me there would be any charge or they were preforming any service. Then when I said that's illegal he begged like a dog for 50 under the table. What a scumbag. Don't go here. Also tried to sell me a new battery when my battery was fine. Long story short: tried to charge me for stuff I never agreed to. Clearly tries this scam often. So I'm from out of town and needed new tires, my wife called around to more than a half dozen places and could not get a straight answer from anybody until we talked to Lenny at Precision Tune. He was very knowledgeable and sympathetic to our situation and found us the perfect tire for exactly what we needed! Manny answered the phone and was ready for my questions concerning an oil change and possibly using a Groupon. He was friendly and seemed to offer some good advice, but then wandered into the reason his margins were tight. "Oil prices and gas prices have skyrocketed since Biden became President", Manny quietly railed. "And these tariffs that the Biden administration imposed have really hurt" (apparently, personally). I'm not sure why Manny choose to politicize my potential oil change, but there it was, in all of its dis-informative discomfort. My thought was that if Manny and his crew got basic news reports upside down and sideways, what kind of service could be expected? Maybe they do in fact know their oil changes better than they decipher world information, but I wasn't willing to take that chance today. read more

Being a woman going to a car shop is always a little intimidating, you never know if they're going to upsell the product ( happened before) employees will be disrespectful or make you uncomfortable.. So this company is one of those bait and switch companies by far on Groupon. Don't buy the Groupon and don't come here. Why? First you can get an oil change with no special discounts or codes needed at Walmart for the same price or cheaper than their "special deal" Groupon oil change with zero hidden fees. Also beware! You'll end up spending more money here! Watch what they do to just about every customer. Groupon for $xx.xx (you think wow great price, great deal!) Nope, then when you check out they tell you you needed "a little more oil" than the Groupon covered, plus your filter was magically special and costs more too. Read other reviews. They are scammers! Second, this is a scam company! I experienced this personally. They tell you there are problems that are not there or are a complete lie! They told me that during my oil change (which cost me another $43 magically ON TOP of the special deal Groupon I already paid for, of course) that they found an antifreeze leak! Go figure right? I check my fluids regularly (maybe I'm weird but I really do) and my antifreeze fluid never moved a millimeter. No joke. So I'm super skeptical because I know the fluid level has never moved after the car has been "off" for 30 minutes or more. I didn't say anything, I played stupid and was like oh no, I'll come back one day! (They still had my car, I didn't want them to do anything to it). Just to make sure that THEY didn't do something to my car. I took it to my dealership since it was under warranty. They said everything was fine. Again, I monitored my fluids after the fact, never budged a millimeter. Lies, more lies! I would really hate to know of whom they have really taken advantage of. I would love to see these guys busted with a fake old lady customer in an undercover way. That wouldn't be hard to do based on the other reviews here. They need to get caught. My daughter who is off at college in Chattanooga needed an oil change. We use precision tune here in Knoxville so I sent her to one there. The manager told her he has a lot of young women who come in and don't know anything about cars so he would take care of her. Without even asking he put in synthetic oil and when he was done he told how much it was she nearly started crying on the spot. Our usual cost is less than 30 and he charged he 80. Couldn't help but add to this awful string of reviews. Must be new owners or management since my experience was excellent. We had a Groupon for headlight restoration...my wife had her headlights restored by these folks and was so pleased she talked me into it. These guys were professional, courteous and efficient. I tried to have it done last Saturday, called to make appointment later in the day, was told they were covered up and that it would be better if I had it done at another time...no problem, called this morning the gentleman that I spoke to on Saturday remembered me and said to bring it down and they would be happy to knock it out. Worst place to change oil! I went there to change oil on my new car and they were first who did it. In about 3 months i went to another place closer to my home to change oil and guys there couldn't do it saying previous shop (Precision tune auto care) damaged pts cap so they can't open it! Than-more! I called to precision care to ask what to do with this and Lenny who was on the phone started saying i went to place where people don't know how to open cap! Seriously? I went to walmart where i changed oil multiple times on my old car! Surely they know how to do it! I told lenny why would somebody refuse to earn 50$ because they don't know how to open a cap?! Surely they would find a way to open it if they could! And he told me like come here and we will change your oil (and put back old damaged cap?) But after this awful service i don't want to go there! DO NOT SEND YOUR CAR HERE. Went in to change my catalytic converter (which took them almost 3 hours to work on because they didn't even get the right size). Now a few days after driving it, my car started making a rattling sound and I had just bought this car 2 months ago and it never made this noise. Took it back in and the "owner" kept claiming it wasn't their fault and insinuating I was trying to get a free repair, which I wasn't. He was extremely disrespectful and no courtesy at all. I was just trying to find out why and what was wrong with it. Come to find out, my other catalytic converter went "bad" and they failed to tell me. Funny how it goes bad within days after I took it here..hmmm. My car never sounded like this before I took it here and now I'm going to have to dish out more money to fix it (and I'm taking it somewhere for sure. Will be interested to see what they say about it..) So, if you want to spend more money than you expect and want your car to end up with more problems, by all means take it here. We use PT for oil changes and light repairs but they totally BOTCHED a fluid change which destroyed my radiator. It would have been nice to have a little antifreeze in the system but it was 90 percent water. Thanks, Lenny. It poured out clear from a corroded radiator.
