Continuing regarding the company giving away all of my stuff. The vehicle did belong to me.. it was given to me and I was in possession of the vehicle, and this was well known by the business and the person who gave me the vehicle. The companies reply also said they contacted me. They did not contact me. I contacted them and they told me all my stuff was gone. Phone records can be obtained to prove who contacted who. The last update I had regarding what the business, which I set up a PRIVATE ACCOUNT. The contents within that account belonged to me and should have taken a court order to confiscate. As I was saying the owner told me the car was going into the garage and would be ready Tuesday, and the business was closing, therefore the business worked off business hours to make a decision on the vehicle. The owner did not contact me and tell me the business was releasing the vehicle. He told me that when I called the first minute the business replopened. On Monday the owner told me he no longer had the vehicle and that it went to a storage unit and I could go there and get my stuff. You stole my stuff. You're jamming everything together. Yall knew I was sleeping and working in the car. You did a fundraiser to come up with the money so I wouldn't end up living on the streets and then take everything back, after business hours and without notifying myself of desolating of the account I set up with your business. Everyone knew of the circumstances, the car was being fixed for myself knowing that other had made a donation to myself. Several people donated to keep me from having to live on the streets. My Toyota van was making a rumbling noise. The brakes made a horrible noise when in reverse. I had been to the Cleveland Toyota dealer three times and spent too much money there with zero satisfaction. A friend recommended Smith Automotive Solutions. We made an appointment to have a diagnostic test completed. The test found that the van needed back breaks, new hub on one of the wheels, new spark plugs, an alignment and oil change. Two months earlier I had gotten an oil change someplace else. The car had been running more rough than usual, plus the "awful noise" in reverse that Toyota said was normal so we set up an appointment to have all the suggested maintenance done. We were more than pleasantly surprised when we picked up the van. It felt like a new car! It was so quiet I was amazed. The big test came when I put the van in reverse and it was silent! We have finally found an automotive shop we can trust! Their service was excellent plus they give a two year warranty on whatever they fixed! It was a stormy day and I drove to south Cleveland to keep my morning appointment. I was a bit late yet they were still able to accommodate me. Swell team was able to diagnose and remedy a ten month long dilemma. And now the engine's second fan engages when necessary. Continued to diagnose a coolant leak and am preparing for that replacement and repair as well. Thank-You to the fellow at the church where my parents attend, who recommended this shop, when I mentioned that I was experiencing this issue. I called a friend that works at Smith Automotive and explained to him my cars issue. He told me to bring it in, which I did. The staff was friendly and understanding. They did a complete inspection of the vehicle, which also brought some other issues that needed attention. I was very greatful for that. They quoted me a price for the repair. I was very comfortable with the cost due to the difficulty of the repair. They fixed the issue with my car within just a few days. Took my car in for Ac repair and missing . Quote given for 165$ diagnostic and around 1300$ to fix it. I paid 1500$. All work guaranteed. It worked 2 weeks. Took it back. I was first quoted a 265$ diagnostic fee and 800$ to fix. The owner called me and said that they didn't go far enough last time to diagnose it further because they thought they had found the problem and were trying to "save me money". I didn't ask them to not fully diagnose it or save me money. They did drop the second diagnostic fee which I shouldn't have been charged to start with because they had been paid that 2 weeks ago. He said 800$ was a "great price" for the work that needed done now. A great price would have been to fix it right with the first 1500$ you stole from me and to stand by a guarantee. I never leave reviews but I have thought about this and it's horrible. I am not made of money. This was the only money I had to fix this with. They were paid for a job they screwed up and did not do. It's theft. I cannot stand a thief. I wouldn't want anyone with limited funds or with a million dollars to go and have this done to them. Absolute dishonest theives! read more

After a rocky start of being told by Smith Automotive that I needed a new transmission when I had just had it replaced two weeks prior and thanks to the best transmission shop owner (Phil at Superior Transmission) for going down to SA to ride with a tech to diagnose the problem, Smith revised their recommendation to a full tune up. My engine purrs like a kitten again. They also solved a nuissance rattle that several other automotive shops had misdiagnosed costing me unnecessary expense. I took my car there to have the transmission fluid and filter changed due to THEIR recommendation after I had my engine oil changed. I was NOT experiencing any transmission issues. After they changed fluid and filter, I drove it home. The next day I had red fluid under my car and on the garage floor. I called Smith Automotive, and they said bring it back so we can see why its leaking. The next day I returned to get my car. Thats when they told me I needed a new transmission and torque converter!!! $3,400!!! I said wait, how can that be. When I brought it in, ALL was running great, now AFTER you worked on it, it's BAD??? I took my car to a transmission specialist in Chattanooga who charged me $85.00 to tell me someone had OVER FILLED my transmission with 3/4 qts. too much fluid!! Well, I took my car there because I was referred and was disappointed when I went to have it towed home because they were more expensive than the place I WILL be taking it to. Disappointed because they charged me $99.51 to put it on a machine to tell what was wrong with it but never told me I would be charged BEFORE they did it . The place I'm taking it to now doesn't charge you for the diagnostics test. GRRRRRR They need to be more forth coming with what they are going to charge for BEFORE they do it not AFTERWARDS. Took our 2003 Volkswagen Passat there, they gave us a quote of right at 800$ but said that if they did this other thing that the car wouldn't have anymore issues we paid them 1100$ to do everything, they supposedly put on a new radiator, thermostat as well as some other things. It was doing the extra same thing as when we took it to them! We didn't even get a mile up the road, we took it back now they've had the car for a month, they tell us now it needs work on the heads, that was never mentioned at all when they diagnosed what they claimed was wrong in the beginning and what would fix the car. They would not stand behind their estimate, we now have a still broke down car that we actually paid out 1100$ on to be in the same extra shape as when we took it to them for the diagnostic and the work! I would not recommend them for anything! I don't even believe they changed out the stuff they charged us 1100$ for. Beware stay away from this place or sit there and watch them actually do the work on your car! It took us weeks to even get a return phone call, every time we called the person they said we needed to speak with wasn't there and they would have him call the next day, the next day never happened we had to continue to call to finally catch this person! Unapologetically screwed by this garage. I had my vehicle repaired by Smith Auto about 18 months ago. The same issue started again, so I called them and they said that it would still be under warranty. I had a couple of other issues that had arisen (squeak in the front end and losing coolant). I have an independent mechanic I normally take the vehicle to, but since I was having them check a warranted repair, I figured that I'd have them look into the other two issues. They initially called and gave the repair news (water pump and front joint issue). Keep in mind, the water pump had been replaced about 2 1/2 years earlier...but I took them at their word. They gave me an initial estimate, but then called back later saying that "their system had been down" and they now had a revised estimate approx $125 more than the original. The new quote (along with a third repair that they recommended) was $1200+. I went ahead and agreed to the repair. I picked it up a couple of days later, drove it approximately 5 miles, parked and within 5 minutes I could smell coolant, as it dripped onto the pavement. I immediately took it back to Smith, and after about 2 minutes of checking it, I was then told that I needed a new radiator...I expressed my concern over just having paid $600 for a water pump (that was only 2 1/2 years old). The repair said "yeah, it can be frustrating" and then said that he'd try to "help me" with the cost of the radiator....he then proceeded to give me a quote of nearly $445. (While waiting for the quote, I reached out to my independent mechanic and asked him for a quote on a new radiator....approx $200 out the door)....when I told the smith auto repair guy this, he said, "I did my VERY best...I knocked off 5%"...(again, this is less than 30 minutes after I had given them over $1200)... Needless to say, I took the keys and told him that I'd NEVER darken their door again. read more

Took my 93 Accord to them to get the timing belt and water pump replaced. I also mentioned a problem I was having with my car not wanting to start sometimes. They were able to resolve everything I requested of them. It is running like a new car now and is a true joy to drive. Planning to take my car back in a month or so to get the clutch replaced and see if they can get the cruise control working again. I was very impressed with the service and the results.
