Fixed the transmission in my ford Taurus and did a great job. It shifts like it's new. Highly recommend.

I would consider exploring other options. Upon having our transmission rebuilt and rear main seal replaced by Gears we had an immediate oil leak from rear main seal (approximately 1 quart every 2 hours). Gears Transmission indicated they were not obligated to warranty rear main seal leak (in which they replaced). After 4 weeks of constant calls, broken promises to remedy, paying for repairs out of my pocket and pursuing legal action for reimbursement I finally received reimbursement for warranty work. To make matters worse, a broken bolt was discovered from seal install, meaning they broke a bolt and attempted to hide during installation. In addition, a loose bolt in transmission bell housing was also found. During transmission repair and warranty claim, Gears was horrible about providing updates; they only called/ returned our calls two times over this 9-week process. Granted, we travelled cross country day after receiving truck with rebuilt transmission and Gears had to use another shop to perform warranty repairs; however we had to take truck to 2 different shops of their choice so they could obtain multiple quotes and we ended up paying for repairs out of pocket after they reneged on paying their bill to vendor of their choice. Only after beginning legal proceedings did I receive reimbursement for main seal replacement. read more

Would not recommend to anyone that needs their car soon. My sisters car has been in there for 3 and a half months, when they said it would take two weeks. It needed a transmission, and they gave us a price for that only. However, they have been calling us and adding random parts they said that they "needed to order" that have absolutely nothing to do with a transmission. Every time we call they tell us it will be done for sure in 2-3 days, but it never is. Stay away! Highly do not recommend! read more

Took my 2019 Ford Expedition in for Cam Phaser rattle on April 22, 2024. They returned the vehicle to me on May 20, 2024. They had my vehicle two subsequent times since then over the course of 5 MONTHS, and each time the vehicle was returned to me, the performance got subsequently worse, with new codes related to the repair appearing the first time they returned it to me, the vehicle going into LIMP mode while my wife was trying to get on the interstate the second time (putting her and our two children in danger), and them completely shirking their responsibility and trying to say a previous repair had damaged my engine and I needed a new one the third time. I checked major service records for the vehicle and no major repairs have ever been done to my car. I also cross-referenced the serial information and engineering part numbers on the parts they said had been replaced, and they are the original ones that were put on the vehicle. Their shoddy repair work has left me with a $12,500 full engine replacement. To top it all off, the owner of the company, CJ Hicks, REFUSES to call me and try to settle this matter. DO NOT let this company touch your car. They will damage MAJOR components in your vehicle, put you and your family in danger, try to gaslight you into thinking it wasn't their repair job that caused the issue, and you will be left footing the whole bill taking your car to a reputable and responsible repair shop that manages and runs their business like adults! read more

Finding Gears has been one of the best repair shop discoveries we've had. It started with a transmission rebuild that went smoothly and got me driving again. Then an engine replacement on our other car. Our cars are on the older side and tend to run into some serious issues, so it's fantastic to have a relationship with a great service team that can do these big jobs.
