Bottom line: Competent, Efficient and Highly Customer Service Oriented Yet another 5 star review for Ryan and his Precision Tree Care crew. I have a HUGE avocado tree which had large heavy branches extending onto my roof top (not a good thing). The crew did a great job of clearing the roof of the large trees and cleaning up, as well. Ryan is very customer service oriented. They trimmed some trees in my front and I wasn't totally happy. Ryan came out, inspected the work, explained the rationale behind why the trees were cut that way, and said he'd be back in a couple of days to work with me on getting exactly what I wanted. True to his word, the crew came back (a very polite crew, too) and went with me branch by branch doing exactly as I asked. Well, Ryan was right - they don't look any better, but that's because I started with misshapen old trees that were not in very good condition. He was correct in his recommendation that additional shaping to my specifications wasn't going to help, but if he had not had his crew come back to work with me, I wouldn't be writing a 5 star review. I came out of my house yesterday when someone was trying to get into my yard. He didn't knock on my door so asked him what he was doing He said he was giving me an estimate on tree removal. I asked for his card What he neglected to do was shut my gate. Consequently later that day my dog got out and was roaming the neighborhood when I noticed he was out. Really impressed with Ryan and team, I had 4 quotes and Ryan was the most comprehensive and professional (especially in these COVID times). On the day of work his team was here promptly at 8am and they worked steadily to get the work done, always working, really efficient. My yard was pretty clear the day they arrived and I saw a lot of wood chips and other debris after they removed a couple of trees and they cleaned it up as good as before in all areas where they had worked. The "foreman" was a strong communicator and engaged me through the day as they worked which I appreciated. I had a large oak trimmed and thinned and he walked me through the way they were going to trim the tree and how it should look by the end. I don't think there was anything they could have done differently. Highly recommend the whole process, I hadn't used an arborist before and these guys set a high bar. read more

Outstanding company ! From start to finish. Starting with our estimate, it was very thorough and for the extensive work to be done surprisingly affordable. We have several very large oak trees in our backyard growing on a steep hill, with the rains last year and the expected rains this year we needed to trim the trees back. Once we signed the proposal we were given a start date. The owner and the foreman came out the day before to go over the job , figuring what needed to be cut and how so the trees look natural while asking for our input and to explain what will happen the next day. The next morning the crew came out and quickly went to work, trimming back all the overgrown trees but keeping in tact the natural shape and future growth in mind. I have a big pine tree in my backyard & in the high winds, a couple branches came down, one damaging my fence. Patty was helpful in getting someone out within 24 hrs to chop it up and haul it away. Winter storms broke several branches in our cluster of five 150 ft-tall redwood trees. Precision was quick to give us an estimate. We did not have an emergency so we could wait for their availability. They cleared our and our naighbor's power lines and cables from utility pole to the house to prevent outages in next winter's storms. They were kind to our landscaping and cleaned up. Job was done in a couple hours. They came after PG&E's contractor cleared branches close to the pole-to-pole power lines. read more

Ryan provided a reasonable quote and was very knowledgeable on how to properly trim our oak, pine and liquid amber trees. They carry proper licenses and insurance, which was also important to us. I dealt with Ryan originally who was professional and courteous and addressed all my concerns. 3 of my neighbor's trees were overhanging in my yard, including a very large birch. I could no longer keep up with the daily sweepings it takes in summer to keep our yard clean and the constant banging of apples at night on our wood deck. I tried repeatedly to explain the impact on us to my neighbors but they were very resistant and insisted I consult a professional arborist. Ryan assured me there would be no problem in cutting back the trees to my fence line and that the trees would be fine. The tree crew and foreman came to work. They easily cut back the apple and loquat tree. They were courteous and professional and asked if the neighbor would let them climb the birch tree. The answer was no. I'd love to write a review about the quality of their apparently amazing service, but they never got back to us when we tried to hire them for tree-trimming last year. This was AFTER they came and gave us a quote, and we already filled out all the paperwork. We even went through the effort of getting Precision's permission sheets signed off by our neighbors since several of the trees grew on their property. These neighbors had been screwed over by the previous owners of our house, so it took quite a bit of convincing, and we promised them we would coordinate to schedule the trimming at a time they would be home to observe it. And that was when Precision full-on ghosted us. After several months where repeated attempts at contact were either put off or ignored completely, we finally hired another arborist. We had to go around and get the neighbors' signatures again because it was a different company. I felt bad because Precision's flakiness had made us seem flaky in turn. Incidentally, it was only after we hired the second contractor (a well-rated arborist on Yelp) that we realized Precision's quote for us had been extremely high. The quote was at least $1000 higher than what we eventually paid, even though it was for a smaller scope of work. Being inexperienced homeowners, we had been FULLY ready to pay it too, had they just gotten back to us. read more

Ryan and team are the only folks to do this work for my family. Ryan's a trained and licensed arborist and makes the right recommendations for your trees. My profession is big construction, contract negotiation, and managing legal problems related to construction. I select service providers very carefully in my private life. The site crew lead (Leo) works with you with a high high level of customer service, 100% safe work practices, and just plain friendly. This work is very dangerous and cutting corners with uninsured and cheap labor is not worth getting someone hurt or having a huge insurance claim or actual criminal case against you. Ryan's team brings the right equipment (pickers/lifts/tools), the right number of people on the team, and run with all of the PP&E (goggles, gloves, helmets, crampons, etc) while tying-off correctly and working safely. Company is locally owned and very responsive to calls/changes/or whatever. They clean up the site and check with you on the clean up before they leave for the day. And, if you have that challenging neighbor about this stuff, they are great at smoothing that over. read more
