We have used Pacific Coast Tree Service for 25-30 years. They have always provided excellent service whether we needed careful pruning of our heritage tree or complete tree removal. They are especially responsive in emergencies. When one of our trees was damaged in a severe windstorm & endangered our house they showed up after hours, in the rain on a Sunday and safely removed the whole tree. They go above and beyond in their service. PCTS always leaves our property neater and cleaner than before they arrived. They have even provided replacements & planting services for trees we've lost. Their prices are always fair & reasonable - I would not use any other tree service company. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Your crew pruning the trees in front of our house on Howard Ave Burlingame this afternoon, 7/17, were professional, efficient, thorough and respectful. Couldn't be happier with their work! read more

Highly recommend!! In the recent storms we had a very large tree become a threat of uprooting. Accompanied by the huge winds gusts we realized we had a potential disaster on our hands. We called 3 different Tree services. Unfortunately, we either received no call back or they were unable to respond quickly enough. We called Pacific Coast Tree Service, the owner, Jim, came out and evaluated the situation, gave us a price, and set up for his crew of 5 guys to come out that same afternoon. Thankfully, they were able to remove the tree that same day. They did the whole job efficiently, working within the restrictive area and left the yard tidy. They were a good group of guys that worked together well and were super helpful. Highly recommend. read more

I had to have a large eucalyptus tree removed because it was dead Pacifica tree service to care of the enormous job in just one day. They were very safe and methodical and removed all the debris quickly and left the property clean. They were efficient and extremely courteous to us and neighbors. We will definitely call them for future needs. Pamela Warren read more

Pacific Coast Tree Service is the best. They are reliable, reasonably priced and most of all experienced. Jim and his crew have removed a tree from my house and garage, removed several trees that broke in half during a wind storm and pruned the trees correctly. The crew arrives on time, they do their work and leave the site cleaned up. I have used Jim's tree service for 12 years and will continue to use it because they are honest , experienced and the best. If a tree falls in the neighborhood and there are people around to hear it, how many different stories will you get? Yelpers, this is my story. At 9:47 PM, I was startled with a loud noise...something like thunder and then I thought an earthquake and then I thought: tree fell. I ran to the front door and saw my oak tree lying horizontally in my driveway. Thankfully, we were spared our lives as well as major damages to the house and the cars. In the morning, we called our home insurance who assigned us Jim Kibblewhite's crew to clean up our misfortune. From the looks of what had happened, I didn't think it could all be done in one day, but in about 4-5 hours, the team of 5 guys who were armed with 2 chainsaws, 2 rakes, 1 pitchfork, a wood-chipper and another large truck and other equipment were able to chop into pieces what used to be our oak tree that stood tall and grand in our driveway. They were hard-working, efficient, easy to work with (saving us some of the smaller pieces of wood so we could use for firewood) and best of all, did a FABULOUS job in cleaning up after they had left. The 5 of them were able to clear our driveway, which was completely blocked by the tree, in one day and although our driveway can now be used, they will be back to clean further and pick up the larger pieces of wood. The only thing I wished they would have done differently is instead of letting one of our neighbors walk off with a wheelbarrow full of wood, I wished one of cutters would have approached us to see if our neighbor could have the wood! We weren't asked by our neighbor or any of the cutters if someone else could have some wood. We'd gladly give some wood since we had more than enough, but I think it's just common courtesy to ask the owner for whatever since it's not yours to begin with. Overall, Pacific Coast Tree Service was awesome and thank goodness for these guys who came on a holiday, to work in the cold and rain! read more

Pacific Coast Tree Service - Tree Services Near Me - Pacifica, California

Jim Kibblewhite's crew came out last week to cut down some pitch canker sickened pine trees from our back yard and trim a ginormous [sic ;)] eucalyptus and they rocked! These guys arrived on time, worked their butts off, and finished a job that I thought might take all day or more in 5 hours flat. And they totally cleaned up, chipping or hauling everything away and raking and sweeping the yard so you would hardly know they were there. The best part was that Pacific Coast Tree Service was half the price of some of the other bids I got for the work. It's great to support a local P-town business, especially when the price is right and the work is done in such a quality manner. read more

I had 4 large spruce trees that needed to be topped about 5 or 6 feet, one ironwood tree to be topped and reshaped and a huge redwood tree to be removed. They not only did an outstanding job, they cleaned up so well my yards (front and back) were cleaner than when they came. To top off this outstanding job, their bid was almost 1/2 the cost of their competitors......UNBELIEVABLE read more

These guys are pros! Hire them. Jim and his crew removed 3 massive trees from our front yard. These were the biggest trees on the block and beginning to break all over the place. This was a large job to say the least. Pacific Coast Tree Service came highly recommended, bid the job competitively and and were the ONLY company that actually had different members of the crew (and subs) out to assess and quote the job. The result was pure quality and bonus of the best price too. They had the necessary equipment and staff to ensure the job went perfectly, including Tania at the office making sure all things moved along correctly. They took care of us right from the start, helping us acquire the necessary permits and explaining the entire job. Jim gave us some great information and insight into dealing with these large trees on our property. When the job underwent it was a huge event. Big trees, cars on a busy road, houses close by etc. They handled every detail. Each piece of those enormous trees landed right where they wanted. They managed the traffic, cleaned up every bit of debris, respected my neighbors. You name it, they crushed it. We were blown away. On top of all of that, they we're friendly and great to deal with. Bottom line. Hire this company. read more

I went by a house I own in Moss Beach the other day to check out the work Pacific Coast Tree Service had done on a big wind-damaged Cypress tree out front. Man, did they do a good job. I had gone with these guys because of the first Yelp review (the second hadn't been posted), and because their estimate was the lowest of the two I got. Brian was the one I dealt with on the phone. He was professional and polite. My tenant at the house says the work crew was great, and that the guys even posed for a picture with her after the work was done. No complaints here. I'd recommend 'em. read more

I called Jim to evaluate a 75-100 ft heritage Monterey Pine whose roots had been massacred by contractors when my house was built a couple of years earlier, leaving me with a very scary situation; i.e., the prospect of a really big tree crushing my house. When I found out about the root issue, I obtained quotes from several arborists to remove the tree (sniff) and Jim's was among the lowest. At the same time, his guys have been with him for years, and he is fully insured, all of which gave me confidence that he would be able to safely take down this magnificent, albeit deadly, tree, without incidence, for a fair price. I had to leave the house the day of the job because I couldn't bear to witness the death of this tree. When I returned, it was gone and the place was cleared of debris. The guys were efficient and safe and I couldn't be more pleased with their work. (I am still sorry I had to kill that gorgeous tree though. Stupid contractors.) read more

These guys will not get what you need done. They tried. Sincerely tried, but do yourself a favor and hire a real licensed landscaping company. They left our yard a dirt pile for pretty much a month. Giving us the run around through text messages. They could have just been honest with us and told us they would not be able to finish the job. Instead they kept telling us that the sod would be coming soon. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS! Most unprofessional, lazy, rude "company " I've ever worked with. read more

I'm kind of a hard grader. Also giving them 5 stars is really exceptional considering I ended up paying a little more than I expected. I'd not been exceptionally clear on what I wanted done when I first met Jim and assumed (I know, I know...ass of u and me...) stuff would be done inclusive of the estimate. Anyway, my impression of Jim is that he's an honorable guy who wants to please his client. Truth is, you don't see much of that these days. As far as the quality of work? Beyond comparison, really. His crew works quickly, does a fast & thorough job and cleans up beautifully. We had Bartlett Tree Service of S.F. come out previously and boy howdy, could they take a lesson from Pacific Coast. Take my advice, forgo Bartlett and choose Pacific Coast. You will save hundreds of dollars and have a better looking back yard! read more

Couldn't be happier! Fair price, on time, respectful of our property, and delivered exactly what they promised for the price quoted. Sad to see the tree go, but it was dangerously leaning toward the house. These guys swooped in like arbor ninjas - swift, effective, and left no sign they were ever here. HIGHLY recommend using this service. Thanks guys!! read more

I had a very large Pine tree situated in my side yard right against a fence and very close to my house and my neighbor's house. I want to tell you that Jim and the Pacific Coast Tree Service crew did an outstanding job here. They came on time and prepared well. They were most expert in the job that they did, particularly the tree man. They cleaned up so well that there's hardly a trace of the immense pile of branches and twigs and sawdust. They seemed to minimize the noise made by the chipper. In all, I am most pleased and would easily recommend them for any similar jobs. read more

We called about 5 companies for removing a tree behind our house on a hill. Jim was the first to come by to take a look and give us an estimate. His price was fair and I liked his straight forward manner. He was able to schedule within a few days. His crew of 4 came in and did a really good job. They had to negotiate a difficult hill and limited access through our covered deck to get the tree out. If you want it done right, on time, and by people who know what they're doing don't waste to your time with anyone else and call Jim at Pacific Coast Tree Service. read more

If I could give six stars I would. I bought a house in Pacifica last year and have way to many trees on the property. I have had Jim's crew out twice and they are incredible. They get the job done right and other than the trees being gone you would never know they were here as they do a great job cleaning up. If you want the job done right and at a fair price I highly recommend Pacific Tree Service. read more

I requested a quote for a tree removal. Email was my only form of communication during the day because I don't have a cell signal while at work and I can't make personal calls on the company line. I thought it was fine because i was corresponding with someone from the company. She asked for the particulars (address, location of the tree, scope of work needed), which I gladly gave. After that, and with repeated emails requesting an update, I never heard back. It's been over 2 weeks. read more

Without warning PG&E cut power to my tenant's home because PG&E's wires were being impacted by a very large tree on my property. I had to deal with this situation from 800 miles away-thank you YELP. I wanted to get the power turned back on to the home ASAP so I called several local tree removal companies to see who could do it immediately. Every call I made to each of the tree companies was answered by a machine. Out of all the companies Pacific Coast Tree Service was the only company that provided an emergency phone number...and more amazing was that Jim answered the emergency number when I called it! Jim understood the situation and was at the property within 30 minutes. His office assistant emailed a contract to me while he put a crew together by pulling workers from other jobs. He let me know the minute the job had progressed to the point PG&E could turn the power back on so I could notify PG&E. I only wish PG&E could have been as responsible as Pacific Coast Tree! I should also mention that they don't take credit cards so they trusted me to pay them, to honor the contract. Going forward I will definitely be using Pacific Coast Tree Services for all my tree trimming and tree removal needs in the Pacifica area. They earned my loyalty. read more

Jim Kibblewhite's "Pacific Coast Tree Service" work crew of tree trimmers expertly completed the pruning that we wanted accomplished on a large number of tall trees on our residential property. The trees were situated on a fairly steep hill in our backyard, adding to the challenge. Jim first came by a day or so prior to evaluate the project and learn of our requirements & expectations. He quoted us a price which was very fair considering the large amount of difficult work to be done. The workers then arrived on the appointed day & time, and delivered the result that we expected for the job.The crew worked efficiently and professionally. They steadily removed a very large amount of resultant branch debris from the work area, chipping almost everything except the very largest log pieces (which they took away that day), and then completed a good final cleanup. We are completely satisfied with the ultimate outcome, and would use "Pacific Coast Tree Service" again. Ingrid & Mike C., Pacifica read more

Pacific Coast Tree Service did an excellent job for a very reasonable price. They did a major trimming and shaping of my maple tree and it looks really great. I don't have to worry anymore about the tree causing damage to my house, and I am no longer embarrassed by how it looks. I am going to have them do the pear tree in the back yard soon. Communication with the office was good; they responded quickly and kept me informed about the crew's arrival time, etc. I definitely recommend PCTS. read more

I highly recommend this company! Our neighbors very large tree fell in our yard. We called a couple of places and PCTS gave us the best price. We had them mulch the branches of the tree, cut down the trunk into smaller firewood size pieces. and remove 2 other ~10ft trees on our property. We kept the mulch and firewood for ourselves. They came out on a Sat and were done in 3 hours! It was amazing! They cleaned up afterwards and were very conscious of our property and other plants. If we need a tree service again we will definitely call them. Great service, competitive pricing, friendly and quick! I highly recommend! read more

We have had the good fortune of having Pacific Coast Tree service out 3 times now, and would never ask anyone else. They have beautifully maintained a large weeping street tree, removed a dead pine and a dying yucca, and reshaped a lovely Japanese Maple. Their crews are prompt, efficient, friendly and clearly love their work. These guys love trees. Further, they understand them and are real artists at rejuvenating overgrown trees You might ask if I would refer them to a friend- I already have and I would absolutely continue to give their number to friends and family that need trees removed or reshaped. Best tree service around! read more

As a Park Ranger for San Mateo County Parks, we work with a number of Tree Companies to do a number of jobs, and one I highly recommend includes Pacific Coast Tree Service in Pacifica. Jim Kibblewhite completed a couple of jobs for us, one at San Pedro Valley Park in Pacifica, and recently over at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve at Moss Beach. I'm telling you, both jobs turned out exceptional! The work completed over at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve included pruning and crowning a number of Cypress Trees, and a couple of removals. Jim KIbblewhite estimated the job probably take a couple days, and turned out, Jim and his crews knocked out the job in one day! I love the service, quality, and efficiency. For small and big jobs, I'd call Jim. Pricewise, more than reasonable. Thanks Jim for all your efforts! read more

"Pacific Coast Tree Service has been an incredible resource over the years for the Westborough Water District. On countless occasions they have come in for large tree removals and clearing overgrown areas near structures and at our tank sites. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality professional service." read more

I called to have a simple haul away of a large amount of back yard debris and to get a quote on some other large limb removal. I mistakenly gave them my address and without a phone call someone came over to my house and was looking over the fences to the yard. I called the service later that day to tell them one of their people showed up unannounced and I was unable to answer the door. Pacific Coast Tree Service decided to trespass on my property, while I watched through the window. The receptionist apologized and said someone would call me back to do the job. I am only writing this because I called them due to the great reviews on Yelp. Now, two days later and there has been no call back, so I guess they do not want the job. I would not say this company is dependable nor very professional to have someone skulking around your house without calling you, at all. And you knew I found you via Yelp, alas, I can not say anything good about you. Best of Luck! read more

We had a big project, mostly on a steep hill that required 1) removing a number of large dead/dying trees and 2) reducing the height of many other trees to help improve our view. When Jim first came to our home we were impressed that he asked to get on the roof so that he could get a clear idea of what lay beyond the trees and he then clearly and thoroughly went through our options. Once we had hired Jim (Pacific Coast Tree Service) to do the work, he made the process as painless as possible for us. He quickly handled the permits and inspections. To avoid disruption to us he did the work when we were out of town and left no evidence that they had been here except for a wonderfully improved view. They even cleared up building debris they found on the hillside and provided a number of 15 gallon cedars to replace the trees we had removed. We received nothing but compliments from our neighbors which was important to us, as we had newly moved in and didn't want to start off by upsetting anyone. Most importantly, as we see our trees from most windows in our home, if the work had been done badly there would be no escaping seeing that, instead we now have a shortened but natural looking tree line with a much improved view and more natural light. We would certainly use Jim again for any tree needs we might have in the future and would recommend him without reservation. read more

I am not very impressed with this company. I called last Friday late in the day. I did get a call back on Monday asking if I had called. I explained what I wanted done and they asked me if the tree was available to see if I wasn't home, but I told them that I wanted to discuss whether to simply trim or take down my large Bishop pine. They told me someone would contact me to arrange a time to view the tree. When Thursday came around with no contact from them, I decided that I should call them back. I did say that maybe I should get someone else, thinking that would get some response, but I guess that gave them their out and I got an email stating that they were booked up all through the winter. I am pretty sure if I hadn't called, I would have never heard from them. Back to square one after wasting a week of my time. read more

I chose this company based on their Yelp reviews and boy was I glad. The price was very fair and the workers were both competent and polite. Their work was impeccable. Pacific Coast Tree Service has done a fantastic job for me on two separate occasions. They removed two acacia trees, one which was in a very tight location. On both jobs they were efficient, on time, thorough, and most of all very professional. The crew came in and did the work in under the estimated time. Additionally they cleaned up completely. And a very sweet touch was Jim trimmed a fruit tree in the yard free of charge. They even left a decorative planter saucer they crafted from the removed tree. They did fabulous job. These guys are great. They responded quickly to our call about our Cypress tree after the last wind storm broke several branches, four of which remained precariously hanging. They came and inspected the tree on a Friday late afternoon and had the crew at the house to trim the tree the very next day at 8:00am. The crew was mindful of the existing garden and took care to protect the plants and bushes from any damage. After the tree trim, they did a thorough clean up. Excellent. read more
