Called repeatedly and got no response after having used them many times in the past. Not sure if they're still in business or not.

Had a palm tree in the front yard trimmed and the job was done very well at a reasonable price and the next day after coming by to give the quote. We couldn't be happier . read more

On time. On budget. On the amazing scale--a 10. This local business is run by the congenial and professional Steve MacNicoll. He and his crew tackled two 60-foot cypress trees that were in desperate need of maintenance along with one tragic plumb tree that needed to be removed. His "climber" was poetry in motion cutting back the boughs of the cypress trees. The rest of his crew took such care cutting, removing, and chipping the limbs. Two of the trees were on the property line, and my neighbor was very happy with how clean his yard was when the work was done. Steve's crew even cut and stacked the logs to season and left a neat pile of wood chips for the neighbors to use for garden mulch. read more

Holy smokes, we have neighbors behind us! No really, our backyard hedge really was that large and looming big (again) before The Mac's service came and tackled it for us. We took way too long in asking Steve from The Mac's back this time. I apologized to him once they arrived. I actually told Steve that he should have put on some armor - and some headgear. I was a bit worried since I was pretty sure that there were two or three families of wild raccoons and a bunch of rats living in that gigantic hedge already. But Steve didn't seem worried. Not one bit. He just smiled and got to work with one other person. They were at our house for about four hours working non stop. They took care of our back hedge, trimmed trees, threw everything in the wood chipper and cleaned up the entire mess. Yeah! Steve and his employee (forgive me I forgot your name!) were so courteous too. They went to my neighbor's houses on either side of us to let them know that they would soon be using the wood chipper and give them warning in case they needed to move their cars out of their driveways. I was so impressed. We've used The Mac's in the past and will continue to use only them in the future. For the price and service - and just plain great attitude - these guys can't be beat. The Mac's Tree Service - Tree Services Near Me

Called The Mac's Tree Service at 10AM Tuesday. They were in touch before end of business Wednesday and here taking the tree down by 1145AM Thursday. They parked the truck appropriately, left our yard clean, and the quote given was the exact price on the invoice. They took down a 12ft. fig tree, and had the yard looking good in less than 20 minutes. No bullsh*t, they were outta here with a job well done in less than 45 minutes. They raked the area of our yard and were nice to my insane dog who is freaked out by everything. They outsource stump removal to another business, but that was not our main concern. We had two of our dogs swallowing figs WHOLE, and we needed the tree gone ASAFP. Nice work, and thank you Steve at The Mac's Tree Service. read more

I would give Steve from Mac's Tree Service 6 stars, if I could, and I wish I had found them earlier. Steve came recommended from a friend of mine. They did such a great job that I felt the need to provide a positive review for them. I had to take down a small tree in my backyard and a half chopped down tree from my front yard, and then, grind both stumps. The small tree in my backyard poses a challenge because of my terraced yard. Steve came to my place, assessed the job and gave me a very fair quote (compared to the others that I got). On the day of the job, they arrived early and got the job done within a short period of time. They had to come back the following day with a smaller stump grinder for the terraced backyard tree. At the end, they raked the area as best as they possibly could. Overall, on time, on budget, quick and efficient. read more

We had the most pleasant experience with Mac's Tree Service. I called three tree services in the Daly City area. One never called back. Steve McNicoll called back the same day. Came by the next day to check out the tree in question, gave us a quote, then had the tree removed two days later. He was most professional yet very easy going and accommodating. We kept on requesting for additional trimming of other trees and he just did them without any problems. The quality of his work was most excellent. Like all the other reviews, he cleaned up the tree site as well as the debris around his truck & shredder. He came with a blower and totally cleaned up the street! Also like the other reviews, his charge for the service was so reasonable. Steve's work far exceeded our expectation. read more

More stars for them. Amazing service. Thank you, thank you for chipping my tree branches. He took all the branches out to the front of the house. Chipped all the tree branches. They were very clean. After they took all my tree branches, he swept the back yard, side of the house and the front of the house like nothing happen. Thumbs Up. I will definitely recommend them and use them next time. Great job. read more

The Mac's Tree Service - Very clean - Tree Services Near Me

Steve was cutting a tree at my neighbors house and I thought it would be a great opportunity to have him look at my palm tree because I wanted to cut it down. He gave me a bid on the spot which was very reasonable. Because it was a heritage tree he told me I had to get a permit with the city of Pacifica and then he could cut it. The process was very easy and he was prompt at scheduling my tree to be cut down after I got the permit. I was very satisfied with his work. He was very careful not to damage anything when the pieces fell on the ground and he even got the stump removed. There was a pile of ground stump left and he came back and hauled it away exactly when he said he would . He is very honest and I would recommend him to all of my friends. In fact two of my friends already used him. GREAT SERVICE! Mary G read more

Steve was awesome. Knew what he was talking about, professional, and surprisingly really quick. They were very clean too. Thank you!

Finally got around to cutting the 3 tall trees including a large amount of shrubbery in our back yard that were on a slope. No easy task but Steve did an awesome job - he was thorough, efficient, professional, punctual, and knowledgeable. We didn't have to lift a finger. Every little tiny leaf and twig was cleaned up after the job. Mac's Tree Service is highly recommended. Will definitely do business again! read more

FANTASTIC! Steve McNicoll is an expert rigger, climber, and his expertise regarding trees is endless. I was so impressed with his abilities to safely climb to high heights, trim the trees perfectly, and to make sure everything was cleaned up, including the street. Steve's attitude, efficiency, and vast knowledge of trees, are in my opinion, invaluable assets when looking to hire a tree expert. Steve and his crew go above and beyond to make sure every aspect of their work is completed in a safe and professional manner. Steve McNicoll has exceptional knowledge of all aspects of tree service and I highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of tree service! read more

Late this spring, we needed some heavy tree work done. A neighbor suggested "The Mac's" Tree Service, and the great work that Steve and his crew had done for her. We got an estimate that was acceptable to us. A few days later, the work crew arrived on time, happy to please us and listen to our wishes and concerns. After the work was finished, we were left with clean grounds. The charges were exactly as quoted. We can fully recommend "The Mac's" Tree Service. Mike C., Pacifica read more

This is one of the best businesses in Pacifica! Steve McNicoll, of Mac's is a hero after scaling our 60 year old huge pine tree, cutting gently and carefully around electrical and telephone wires, hanging and swinging on his climbing ropes to cut limbs and avoid any contact with cars and houses (the tree was right up on our house). He was very reasonable in price, had great helpers, cleaned up the yard and the street, hauled away all wood and trash and had a cousin stump remover come and grind out the stump in prep for the next tree, Steve is kind, charismatic and very brave! we photo documented his climbing and cutting in awe of his skills. call him, you won't regret it! read more

I was looking to rid my property of some shrubs and some small trees. I had experience with this one company a few years back, but when I got the estimate from Steve, I knew that the last job was overpriced. Steve was friendly and professional and we worked out details such as being able to do the work without me having to take a day off. Even a last minute request was accommodated for at a fair price. When I came home, the shrubs and trees were gone and his crew left no "footprint" of ever being there...just the stumps as I had requested. I thought my job would be too small for these guys who are used to taking down large pines and other two, three story trees, but they are just as good with the small jobs. I would recommend Mac's Tree Service to any of my friends. read more

The Mac's Tree Service just finished removing two huge, old pine trees from our yard. (They also removed two other trees, years ago. They did a good job years ago and that's why we called them again.) Steve and his crew did a fantastic job of removal and clean up. Steve is very capable, personable, accommodating and prompt. And stayed within quote. I highly recommend him and The Mac's Tree Service. read more

Mac's Tree Service removed a 60-70' Monterey Pine from my backyard. I've called Steve, the owner, 10+ years ago for another tree removal and was very satisfied, so I thought I'd give him a try again. Any boy, I was not disappointed: Very reasonable estimate, showed up on time, Steve and crew are very hard working and efficient, very accommodating (removed some additional miscellaneous small trees/shrubs), cleaned up when finished, and gone in about 5 hours. I definitely would use him again. read more
