A BMW franchise dealer was trying to charge me more than double for work that I didn't need, and Precision Transmissions was able to identify exactly what my car needed. I was able to see the mechanics inspect my car from the seating area. The mechanics came and spoke with me and didn't mind explaining everything. There was no wait time, and everyone was professional and efficient. Even during their lunch break hour, the workers at Precision didn't mind answering my questions. As a first time car owner I was pretty nervous about finding a mechanic who I could count on to not take advantage of the fact that I don't know too much about cars. But all the reviews about Eric are 100% spot on. I pretty much agree with everything other people here have written (which is the reason I went to see Eric), but I'll add one thing about my personal experience: I called Eric the day after I dropped off my car to check in about a few things and the second I hung up I realized that I had one more question. So, I called back, but not wanting to be that annoying customer who calls all the time, I just asked the secretary to relay the message to Eric so that I wouldn't bother him twice in 5 minutes. The next day when I picked up the car Eric actually said to me that anytime I have a question he wants me to always to ask to speak directly to him so that I can get all the information I need and so that he can ensure that there is 100% communication. I was pretty amazed by this. To hear from a very busy mechanic that "yes, I want you to bother me with whatever questions or concerns you have" was pretty great. Great place! We took our car here after going to a dealership, getting a very high quote, and wanting a second opinion. At PT, Eric was able to breakdown the issues our car had and help us make a decision about fixing it. He was very good at explaining what was going on and honest about the work that needed to be done. This place is the best!! My car battery died and I was stuck in Long Island, NY. AAA came and gave me a jump to start the car but they recommended that I get a battery right away. They did not have the battery for my Ford Edge. My sister recommended that I call Precision Transmission. She was concerned because they close at 5 PM and it was already close to 4:30 PM. I called them and explained my situation. They told me to come on in that they would wait for me. I thought that because they were closing that i would have to leave the car but by the time I got there, they had ordered a battery. The battery arrived they installed it and we all went home! They told me it wasn't the transmission but the rear wheel bearings. I was both surprised and a tad skeptical since my trusted mechanic told me the transmission on my 2004 Matrix with 175,000 miles wouldn't hold up past the winter. They quoted replacing both wheel bearings but after opening up the wheels they only replaced the one rear broken wheel bearings saving me approximately half of the quote! They do get busy, but that's because they are good. Turn around time on inspection and repairs still impossible to beat. These guys were very honest, straightforward, helpful, and quick. I came in for a State Inspection, but needed some repairs done first. I told them my issues, they checked everything out, told me that honestly it wasn't worth me spending the money to get it repaired anyways, and also let me know that it wasn't necessary to fix in order to pass the inspection. It was a minor issue, but they still could have easily told me I need to fix it, and charged me for it. On top of that, they gave me quotes on any parts I needed for repairs, explained everything out for me on what was needed for the inspection, and both times I went to their shop, I didn't have to wait long for my car to get pulled into the garage, worked on, everything explained, paperwork taken care of, and driving out with a smile. A rarity among car mechanics, this is the place to go if you want to be treated fairly! read more

Precision is amazing!!!!!! I have a 14 year old car. Eric always tells me the least expensive way to fix something. One time he told me how I could easily maintain something myself instead of replacing the part which would have been really expensive. When I thought I needed tires replaced. He checked and said it was just the sealant around the rim and fixed it for me for so much less than it would have been to replace the tire. I can't say enough nice things about Eric and Precision. I found precision transmission on yelp. The reviews was the deciding factor that this is where I want my car to be. I have an older car. It works she gets me from point a to b and doesn't have have a 3rd of the miles that most car her age would have. But she(my car) had some body work to be done. I explained to Eric that all of the dents in my car was collateral damage from living on a narrow two way street with a bus route. I wanted the dents out, I wanted it painted the works. Eric explained to me that it's not worth the money to have the car painted because I live on a very busy street and of the cars age. I was very surprised and happy that he suggested that. Eric is a great guy and easy to talk to. He is always been fair and helpful. There work has always been outstanding. He has never looked to make more work for himself and in experience he has talked me out of having work done that was not really necessary. My ignition switch was loose and I had to wiggle the key to get the car to start, annoying but livable. Eric told me it was about an 8-900 dollar repair and it was up to me. I lived with it for at least another year until it got to unreliable and he fixed it for the price he told me the year before. I have been to Precision at least 4 times in the life of my car and every trip has been easy and pleasant. I strongly recommend Eric and his guys. read more
