I was referred Don at Precision door from a fellow Real Estate agent. I called Don out and he booked me for his schedule the next day, as I needed to replace the weather stripping at the bottom of my door before the rains came. Don came out, tried to replace it, but found that it was the wrong weather stripping, so came out again a couple days later at no additional charge and replaced the weather stripping. While my type of weather stripping was not available, he added a new metal liner to conform to new industry standards. He also did a tune up of my garage door for free. I was charged $29 for a service fee (down from $80 quoted by other companies) and $6 per foot for the weather stripping. I asked him if my garage door needed anything else, which he stated that at some point in the future I should replace the rollers. I hemmed and hawed, but ultimately chose to replace them as they offer a lifetime guarantee. No pressure on behalf of Don... just my own doing. They did the work on the 15th. Today is January 5th and they have not refunded me the overcharge. In no situation should it take three weeks to refund a credit card. Had a very good experience with Precision Garage Door yesterday. Ron called about twenty minutes before the appointment to let me he was on his way. He was on time, polite, and professional. He was not an aggressive sales person at all. Not the door itself but "the guts" needed a lot of work, especially since nothing had been done to it since it was installed 12 years ago. I ended up purchasing a new motor, replacing the rollers, and having all the hinges and the springs lubed. It runs so smoothly now and its very quiet. Perhaps I could have saved a nickel or two by shopping around. However, I'm in sales myself and therefore appreciate good service. Ben did an awesome job on our tiny one car garage! We had another company look at it first and they had said that it was impossible to add a garage door opener without raising the ceiling 10 inches. Then Ben came to look at it and took many measurements and told us he could make it happen! He worked tirelessly on it one day and I'm so pleased with the result. It's works really well and is very quiet. I'm so happy. This took place on 7/7/17 when I came home and found my tension spring had broke. I spoke to the lady in dispatch at 6:30pm and she said she could have someone out within two hours, it was actually 3 but no problem. I asked for a price upfront and she quoted a $50 base fee plus parts. She said depending on the size of the spring it would range between $120 to $180. So I'm assuming $230 max all in for the repair. The guy shows up and gives me his estimate which was almost $700. He says to replace both springs (only one was broke) plus new bearings this is what it would cost. That's a $470 up sell from what I was originally quoted! I would never use or recommend this company. read more

Made an appointment for an estimate for a new garage door, time window 8-10am. They said they would call when they were in the way. 9:54 there is a knock at my door from "the guy". No explanation. I ask why didn't I get a phone call saying you were on the way as I was told would happen. "The guy" says his phone died the night BEFORE and he didn't realize it. Received a call 10 minutes prior to tech John's arrival. (Arrived within the promised timeframe.) He diagnosed the "sticky door" issue and gave me 3 options. Noticeable difference in garage door overall function. And yes, sticky door problem fixed! A bit expensive especially considering all the years that I have been a "do it yourselfer...." But honestly, I don't think I would have checked the pulleys that turned out to be the problem. By the way, I did not have that pressured hard sales feeling that you get from most service calls. He not only hooked us up with the entry pad, the two new openers but he also set both of our cars to be able to open the garage doors with a button. Nate was very kind, patient and knowledgeable. Great personal customer service but remember, each installer seems to be a salesperson so negotiate your prices with the installer and not over the phone because they don't seem to connect; I was quoted one price for spring replacement on the phone, due to the type of garage door I have (not a heavy wooden door, but a light aluminum one) but the installer quoted me a higher price despite seeing my door in person. Installer also sprayed grease ALL over each of the dozen or so hinges on my door and made no effort to clean up the excess, just said "...I tried to be careful but grease got all over the hinges". Worst company ever. They bumped our first appointment. Then technician came out and spent ten minutes to "fix a wire" but didn't actually do it and charged $175 and left after ten minutes. The garage door still wouldn't close on it's own after he left. We looked and every single piece of wire is original and still has the dust it had on it before he came. Total crook. The company wouldn't send him back the same night because they dispatch through a call center in Florida and the actual company "wouldn't answer the phone" and offered a FOUR HOUR WINDOW the next day when they could get it fixed. Scam artists. I'm certain when they come back they will say it's a new problem not covered by their warranty from earlier today. We aren't certain if we should even allow them to work on the door with this level of dishonesty from a technician. My husband and I noticed last week that our garage door wasn't working correctly. It was apparent that the compression spring was broken and because of that, some of the metal frame that supports the door was damaged. We knew that there was other damage, but my very handy dad had suggested that it could be reinforced once the spring was replaced. When my husband called Precision door service (after finding such positive reviews on Yelp), they quoted $110-150 over the phone to replace the spring, and they could be out in a couple hours to fix it.....GREAT! Well, I was the only one home with the employee and who I assume was a trainee showed up. I showed them into my garage and gave them a few minutes to do an assessment. I was told that the entire garage door needed to be replaced and it would be 2300! WHOA! It went from 150 - 2300 very quickly. He said he wouldn't replace just the spring because of the other damage. I wasn't comfortable making that decision on the spot, so I said I'd think it over. He then told me that I would have to pay a $50.00 service fee that they told us we wouldn't have to pay if they did work on the spring. If they refuse to replace just the spring, where does that leave me? Not only that, but they advertise free quotes, and that's exactly what they did, give me a quote. No work was done. So, I paid my $50 + tax and they were on their way and I still had a broken garage door. We then called another reputable local company who sent someone out free of charge to do an estimate just an hour later. He looked at our garage door and quoted us just over $300 to replace the broken spring and the aging one next to it, as well as to fix the broken support on the door and reinforce it. DONE! He was very knowledgeable and did his best to save us money. About an hour later we had a working garage door again and I couldn't be happier! He took his time, did great work and even did a tune up with no extra charge. He said we could use this garage door for another 10 years! If we ever need our garage doors serviced, he will be who we call, NOT precision door service! When my husband heard that I paid a service fee he immediately called the company to let them know that he was was told this fee would be waived because they would replace the spring(which they wouldn't even do without me replacing the entire door). He was then forwarded to the manager who told him it's a normal fee, but that because he had "seen pictures of how bad our garage door looked and he felt bad for us" (in a sarcastic tone) he would refund the service fee. Not only that, but he Chuckled as if he thought it was funny. Do they quote low over the phone just to get to your house and overcharge? Seems that way. How can a manager act like that? I feel that it was extremely disrespectful. I'm not sure if they tried to upsell me because I'm young and inexperienced as far as dealing with garage doors, but what's worse is how the manager dealt with my husband when he called. I never write reviews, good or bad. We needed glass replaced in our garage door. We had used Precision a couple years back for our spring repair and the service was great. This time around was a disaster. The first guy that came out had no clue how to measure the area that needed glass. So he ordered glass and came out a couple days later with the wrong size glass. Then he took out glass from another window on the door to use as reference and broke it! Then he left to get glass and, without permission, left our second garage door unlocked so he could just walk back in the house. When he came back, he knocked on the door but by the time my wife got to the door, he was already in the house! Now, 2 panes were broken thanks to Precision. Then he had to leave again because they still had the wrong size glass. He just left though without telling us he was leaving and with no report on what to expect. The manager called my wife back later that day saying it would be a few days but no definitive timeframe. So we had to tape up the window so everyone in the world wouldn't know they could crawl in the house through it. Finally, they came out about 10 days later - with BROKEN GLASS! If I was writing a story about how to be the worst company in the world, I could not make this up! We got a different company to come out and take care of the issue in 1 Day! Whatever happened in the last couple years, take our advice, this company is done. Maintain your sanity and use someone else. read more

Beware - Twice the price of anything else out there. Lifetime warranty is not really lifetime (like anything else, it's very specific to internal parts). I had two garage door openers installed. These retail for $150-$250 @ Home Depot. Add in installation for about $100 per door, and you're looking at $500 to $700. My bill of $1,200 is 71% more than the high end of what HD charges. Their openers are quiet, but there's no integration with wi-fi. Overcharged me on tax, and I'm still waiting for the refund weeks later. I won't be doing business with this company again. I don't mind giving a company a profit, but getting gouged isn't something I can support. Look elsewhere. read more

I had my lower panel of garage door damaged by car. The service was very quick and technitian arrived on scheduled time to review and recommended replacement. The work done was professional and made sure everything worked with thorough inspection.
