He did a terrific and thorough job doing a cleaning and thorough inspection of our fireplace and chimney. He was very thorough about what steps we could be doing for maintenance and to prolong the life of our chimney, and even showed us some hidden features of our fireplace we were unaware about. He suggested a few long-term preventive maintenance things, some easy DIY things I could do in the next year, and was clearly was honest and not up-selling us anything. Very reasonable rates compared to other quotes we received, and cleaned up after himself - we will definitely use him again for any future fireplace maintenance.

From the start, he was extremely clear in his communication of exactly what his bid included and what kind of results to expect and also provided other options we could pursue. His work included a generous warranty that covers not only things like cracking and shifting but also if the tree roots lift up the new panels again. As soon as we signed our contract, he and his crew were out almost immediately for demolition over the weekend and poured the new panels just a few days later before sealing everything post-cure. The final price we paid was very reasonable (almost 30% less than other bids!), particularly considering this project included the extra work of removing tree roots buried under the panels. We're happy with the result and would recommend him for any kind of concrete work.

When I do have a large concrete job, I will not use this company. I'm feeling generous with the 3 stars, but I don't really want to hurt this business. I just want to share with the community that this company did not do work for me and I believe it was because it was a small job. I think they'll only communicate with you if you have a large job.

The crew was efficient, polite and friendly. They were always on time. They did not leave a mess in the yard. A minor concern was corrected without extra cost. I wish I would have seen the previous review before we hired P&L. The owner Paul was very nice and…read moreseemed very knowledgeable and we arranged for them to remove our old carport and slab and install a new slab for our new garage. The slab size had to be very accurate, and Paul assured us this would happen. He also explained in the estimate all of the structural components that would be included. Fast forward to the pouring of the slab when my husband noticed that the forms were the wrong height, and many of the footings and reinforcements were missing. When my husband insisted this be done correctly and to make sure the size was accurate, one of the workers was agitated. When he also said they need to double check the dimensions, one asked 'why does it matter?' . Once Paul arrived (he was not there often), the reinforcements and footings were fixed. After the pour he let us know that the slab had bowed in 2 places, so then they had to cut the slab to the dimensions on the plans, which looks terrible. And now we see that even with their cutting the dimensions are still incorrect. They also left food waste and garbage in our yard after the pour, and tons of large nails and large concrete debris from the forms and the carport demo on the ground. Hugely disappointing, and have no confidence that they can fix it without more issues so will do it ourselves and hope for the best. At least the top is nicely finished? Construction concrete work is clearly not their strength.

We then went to plan B, which was to install a new underground pipe with a "popup" to disperse the water onto the driveway. The installation looks very good, but the true test will come when we have a heavy rainstorm. The reason why I gave only 4 stars was because of their arrival time. They had an arrival window of 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm but they showed up just after 10:00 am! Fortunately, we were available at that time (and not out walking the dog). My experience with most contractors is that they will call or text to let you know when they're on the way and give you an ETA - I received neither. Again, the quality of their work appears top-notch, but the lack of timely communication should be addressed.
