I purchased turf for a dog run. Let me start by saying that customer service was why I felt comfortable choosing Aguiar and also why I gave them 5 stars. Michael (sales rep) was very helpful in walking me through the process and working within my budget. The job took no more than 2 days to complete, the team was very respectful and worked quickly. The end product was awesome (i'll attach pictures). But where they won me over was their quick resolve. I have a watering system, which one of the pipes under turf area, broke during the job. I found this out after the job was complete when trying it, which was over the weekend. Welp after letting Michael know, first thing Monday they dispatched someone to the house, who dug up the turf, found the broken pipe, fixed it, and re-laid the turf. Having several trustworthy proposals on my desk and all within a similar price range there was one clear winner...Aguiar Pavers. All the important components were there including high quality materials. This company had my confidence and my business. The crew of 7, led by foreman Anderson, did outstanding work. As foreman, Anderson made onsite decisions that were brilliant and showed respect for my neighbors and my property. He worked right alongside the crew. The work progressed very quickly from demolition, and tree removal, to materials delivery, through excavation for the footings, quality drainage, wall building with backfill. They even moved my 6'x8' shed out of the way to build and then restored it to its original place! The crew clearly had a lot of respect for Anderson. They showed up early morning, worked a long day sometimes in the cold rain of December and never slowed their steady pace down. They tidied up the site at the close of each day and mitigated damage to existing pathways by putting plywood down to protect from heavy wheelbarrow loads. With the large crew my project was complete in 4 days! Nothing short of miraculous! Overpriced based on the quality of work. I give them 2 starts based on the friendly office staff (and estimator), but the people that do the work are another story. I got tricked by the commercials, and was willing to pay a bit more for better quality work but that is not what I got. The first picture below is what they tried to call finished the first time. We had the crew call the Owner and got the "I'm not driving 2 hours to look at the work" that a previous reviewer got. But since we had not made the final payment, the crew returned a week later and spent two days doing little work and left the path in the final state shown in the second picture. There were many quality issues, but the most visible is the edge. After the 2 day redo we decided this company was not capable of doing a proper edge and had caused other problems trying the fix the other issues we reported. It was time to move on. Someone driving a truck from this company was riding my butt so close that I was honestly scared they were going to hit me. I was going 5 over the speed limit, so I wasn't being slow or anything. This happened on Wednesday, May 25th at just after 7pm on Maple Valley Highway. When I turned onto Cedar Grove they honked at me and scared my kid to death, causing her to have a panic attack. Customers be aware that their 10-year-warranty is a joke. They blame the poor job on anything to avoid the responsibility for warranty repair. For example, they first blamed it on poor quality of the slabs we chose and then they blamed it on ground movement. We hired this company to built a patio in 2018. The business owner was very reassuring and confident during consultation that if they do the job the slabs will not sink. The crew forgot to turn off the water and left the water running overnight. The next day when they came back to finish the job they just wanted to rush and finish up. They did not fix the issue with the uneven slabs. The 2'x2' vancouver bay slabs started to sink more and more. We infomed them that the sinking slabs are getting worse. It took them 2 months to come back to repair it. When we let Jodelle (the business manager the time) know of this matter, she had the entitled attitude telling us that they will charge us for any future repairs. Long story short, the repair did not last long and after a few rains, the slabs sunk further and became more uneven because they filled up the base with a lot of the existing dirt (loam soil) that was already there. This is why the patio kept getting worse. She thinks she did us a favor to come back 2 months after installation to fix poorly installed patio. We are going to file a complaint against Aguiar Pavers with Washington State attorney general consumer protection office. read more

The service and overall process was very broken so when it came time to extend our patio for a hot tub area we decided to shop around. Once I met with Wesley at Aguiar Pavers I knew this was our guy. If there was an option for giving zero stars on Yelp, I would! I am very disappointed on their customer service and lack of communication. I put in inquiry through HomeAdvisor for artificial lawn. HomeAdvisor searches my area to find the business that service around my area. They had sent my contact information over to Aguiar Pavers who then contacted me about a day later. The office manager was extremely nice when I was initially setting up my consultation. I asked if she can get me scheduled later in the day and she seemed very accommodating. Come the day of my appointment, the field technician calls me 30 minutes before our scheduled time to say that he doesn't want to sit in 2 hours of traffic to make it to my appointment, then continues to say that he won't be able to get me in for another week and that the time of day I requested doesn't work for his schedule. I immediately called the office manager to ask for an appointment the next day or the day after as this project is time sensitive. She proceeded to tell me that she had nothing available and that it was my preferred time that doesn't work for their schedule. At this point the office manager was being very short with me and I could tell she was very irritated. I told her I was willing to schedule earlier in the day and she then proceeded to tell me she had nothing available. Since they weren't able to schedule me in I asked them to provide me with an estimate via email. I sent them the square footage and photos of the area. They responded and said that they would have the estimate to me in a couple of hours.... 3 days later and 2 follow up emails I have yet to hear back from them. Very disappointed with how they treat their potential customers. Extremely unprofessional. read more

I suggest you do not do business with these people, and particularly their subcontractors, Gilirani Pavers Plus, or you may be very, very sorry. I hired Aguiar to replace my old concrete pool deck with pavers. In the process of doing this, they caused a major problem and walked away. Their subcontractors (Gilirani Pavers Plus) punctured the line circulating water to and from the pool, but instead of reporting and fixing the problem, they simply paved it over. Of course, the pool level dropped and the water no longer circulated due to the break in the line. I had to hire a leak detection company (nearly $600) to find the leak, which was located right where Gilirani Pavers had installed a drain, and then a leak repair company to dig all the pavers and fix the leak. This was in June. I finally received compensation from Liberty Mutual Insurance, insurers of Gilirani Pavers Plus, in October. Initially, I repeatedly called Aguiar with messages about the problem with no response. They appear to have all calls routed to voice mail so reaching anyone was impossible. Next, I emailed with a description of the problem they had caused, an outline of what I expected them to do and by when, and a documented invoice for costs incurred to fix their mess. I heard nothing once more, finally going to their insurance company, which denied my claim and sent it to Liberty Mutual Insurance, the insurer of subcontractor, Gilirani Pavers Plus. (See my review of Gilirani Pavers Plus for details of what THAT experience was like.) They also failed to communicate with and supervise their subcontractors to ensure they did not cover over a skimmer area that I had repeatedly told them should be left open. Since I needed to replace my pool skimmer, I instructed both my Aguiar contact and the crew person who spoke English that the crew should leave a large area around the skimmer open after removing the concrete so that the new skimmer could be installed and then I would make arrangements for them to return to install the pavers. It would be ridiculous to pave over the old skimmer and then tear up the paving almost immediately to install the new one. But the crew paved everything right over. The people who came to install the new skimmer had to tear up all the pavers, leaving a hole for the paving to be replaced. My contact said they would come back to replace the pavers; however Mr. Aguiar, refused, saying to me in person "we've done enough for you." Nothing was done to pave the holes until I filed a claim against them. If you have problems with their work, Aguiar will not step up and take responsibility, they will stonewall you, they will offer neither help nor apology. Your repeated calls to them will not be returned, your e-mails will be ignored. Aguiar's unprofessional attitude is: "not my problem," and you're on your own. They failed to supervise their subs, who somehow thought they could cover up the damage they caused and no one would notice that the water could no longer circulate or the water level was several feet down. These people pose as stand-up, professional guys, but do not be deceived. They most decidedly are not. read more

Fantastic! I have done a lot of remodeling work on this property and this was the most pleasant experience with a contractor I have ever had. When we requested a bid for service the owner of the company came by our home right away and right on time and surveyed the property. He came up with several ideas that provide improvements we hadn't thought of and have been great additions to the property - all of which were done at no extra cost. The bid was significantly lower than competing bids I received. The owner invited me to come to his showroom in Bellevue to pick out materials so I didn't have to choose the pavers based on pictures in a catalog but could actually see the materials being proposed. Work was scheduled around our needs and began right on time. The crews were professional and friendly and really hustled. They didn't just work hard they worked with obvious energy and pride. Most days the owner was on-site and supervised. As the job was finishing up there were a few things where I thought revisions were required. We asked for the perimeter to be revised in one area to accommodate easier storage of our waste bins. We also requested a revision to the front stoop. Even though the work had already been done on both of these areas, the requests for revisions were pleasantly accepted with "Of course - no problem!" and the work was changed with no additional expense. Although it was never covered in the proposal, after work started I mentioned that I might want to run electrical lines under the pavers. The owner told me he had assumed I might want to do so some time in the future and was going to run conduit under the drive to allow wires to be run later at any time. The owner noticed that our old drive was creating some runoff problems on the side of our house so he proposed a drain and tied it into our downspout drainage system at one corner of the drive. We have had significant rain since the pavers were installed and all our drainage problems have been eliminated. Every day the job-site was left immaculate. The work was completed ahead of schedule and every detail of the work was executed perfectly with great attention to quality and detail. And the final result is even better than I thought it would be. Not only do the pavers look amazing, but the design makes the rest of our landscaping look instantly much nicer. An unexpected result of the work is that the pavers are brighter than the former blacktop so they bounce a lot of light around our lot and make the whole tree covered property much brighter. I am already thinking about hiring this team to make some additional changes to the back of our house. Hire them! You will enjoy the experience and love the results. read more

Excellent job. While my project was relatively small (installing artificial grass in two areas, about 10x11 and 10x12), they put every effort into doing it right. The crew was hard-working and attentive to detail. They dismantled part of my sprinkler system to ensure it wasn't broken while the maneuvered around it, and replaced everything when complete. Swept up and cleaned up after the job, and made sure the load was secure before departing (I'm a motorcycle rider, so I am sensitive to details like that). I contacted Aguilar March 2016 and they completed the project a few weeks later; so this review is long over due. Wesley and Co. are some of the best contractors I've worked with on my back yard project. Unfortunately the first paver company who did the installation was pitiful with pavers sinking in various places in only two years time. My problem needed fixing and didn't know how to go about it. Wesley had one look at it, took some measurements, gave me a reasonable bid, and completed it as stated. A half dozen workers picked up all pavers, cleaned them, and reset them in two days looking incredible! I should have used them in the first place. Great company! January 2020 I called Aguilar again to replace a cement sidewalk and reset pavers to the front door. From Wesley's evaluation & bid, to Leena and Lizz scheduling and coordination, and lastly to the crew who worked diligently through the rain to make it happen, I couldn't be more satisfied. My husband and I decided to put pavers in our driveway, along with a retaining wall, to protect our historic 150 year old Western White Pine. We figured that by putting pavers down, this tree would get the water it needed through the pavers. We met with the owner, Wesley Aguiar, at our home to show him exactly what we wanted and we went to his office a few days later to tell him again. He drew a picture for us and explained that he would stay 6 feet away from the tree and build the retaining wall around the tree and next to our neighbors property which has a 4 feet grade difference. The second day his crew started work, I came home from work and saw that his crew went right up to the tree, cut one 15 inch root and two 12 inch roots. We have had arborists come to our home and evaluate the tree. It is 130 feet high and we have to cut it down because they killed it. Not only did his crew do this, but they went so close to the neighbors fence, the mud is starting to fall away from the cement footings that their fence posts are in and I'm afraid with all our rain, that we will have a mud slide on our hands too. When we called Wesley to let him know what happened, he told us that his workers did it and he wasn't responsible. We've had to get an attorney. We have a large mound of dirt in our driveway, and tree we have to cut down (which will take a crane and at least 2 days, not including the expense of doing this) and mud sliding down the four foot embankment by our neighbors and large craters in our driveway from the large roots they removed. This has gone on now four months. We only hope to get this settled and never have to see or hear about this company again. Such an ironic situation: Trying to save our 150 year old tree. read more

We engaged Aguiar pavers to install pavers in our backyard. Wesley came out to measure our backyard and then provided a verbal quote which I decided was agreeable. I asked him for the contract to be emailed to me so we can confirm the price and begin work. Despite numerous requests, Wesley never sent me the contract. A date was set for the demolition work to begin, and I waited at home for Wesley to come with the contract so we can sign it and begin work. I specifically said I could only be available in the morning but not the afternoon. No one came in the morning. In the afternoon, while at work, I received a call saying that the demolition contractor had arrived and was ready to begin the job. I told him that while I'm okay with starting the work, the contract was not signed, so the risk was with them. They agreed. A few days later, with my backyard mostly destroyed, Wesley finally showed up. He didn't have a contract, but instead started working out numbers again. The new price came out to being about a thousand dollars more than the verbally agreed price. I asked him why. He said that he had omitted a part of the work in the initial quote. However, he never said sorry nor took responsibility. (When it turned out that the samples that were delivered to our place were the wrong ones, he simply said that that was an error by the guy who brought it over. He spoke as if mistakes were always others' fault. Never his.) When I asked him how we can accept such sudden price increases, he said that if I didn't like it, we could call off the deal and I wouldn't have to pay for the work already done. So I agreed to that offer. But while walking out, he suddenly turned around and said, "Teaches me a lesson to do business with people like you." (We're Asian.) Then he said that he has changed his mind and would send me a bill for the demolition work already done, and threatened to put a lien on my house if I didn't pay it. He indeed got his office to do that later that day. Of course, there was no contract signed, and he was once again reneging on agreed terms. So there are no grounds at all to his claims. Do not hire Aguiar Pavers. They were irresponsible, unethical and kept changing their terms as if there were no rules or laws regarding such things. read more
