Love Dr. Carrie Wright! She is one of the few Drs who goes over everything with you! She doesn't rush you, she ENCOURAGES you to ask questions and she's extremely thorough with explaining everything! Actually, she's so thorough she will get diagrams of a 3D eye explaining what is wrong depending on your condition. Very very good experience! read more

Visited Dr. Steinberg as a result of seeking a second opinion. The receptionists answered within a couple of rings to set up my appointment. They were kind and friendly both over the phone and in person. The receptionists showed real teamwork. The receptionists thoroughly asked me about my insurance, for which I am glad, because I don't like misunderstandings over insurance. The waiting room, exam rooms and restroom were immaculate. They took me in early, before my appointment. I am an admitted dental and medical coward. The receptionists, techs and Dr. Steinberg put me at ease. The doctor and techs did a thorough exam, and not once did I feel pain or discomfort. They showed incredible teamwork. All their equipment looked well made and well built. Doctor Steinberg took the time to explain my condition(s) and answer my questions. Dr. Steinberg didn't rush the appointment. He also wrote a letter to my family practice doctor and endocrinologist. I really believe that Dr. Steinberg is the best opthalmologist in Dutchess County. Yes, Dr. Steinberg is now my opthalmologist! read more

I was referred to Precision Eye by my doctor. I called spoke to the office made an appt, showed up, and got the shock of my life. First of all, on initial contact over the phone I was asked what type of insurance I have I told them medicare. Then I was asked if I had secondary insurance to which I replied no. When I arrived at the appt I was asked for my card and again asked if I had secondary insurance, again I said no. I was told to sit down and then called back up and told the appt would cost me almost $200 for an eye exam. Understand I have no issue other than needing a prescription for new glasses and to be checked because I am type 2 diabetic. So I said why didn't to tell me this on the phone. Now here comes the lie, (btw my fiance owns a medical billing company in NYC for over 25 years). Here it is "we don't know until we see the card..BS. I filled out a 2hr registration form online where I further indicated my insurance and the lack of 2nd insurance. It's not how much they wanted to charge but they took away my CHOICE to find someone cheaper thinking because I was there I'd accept it. I own my own business and I am successful. I never met the doctor but if this is who he has representing him, I question his judgment. This is about the Poughkeepsie office and as an African American, I felt like I was prejudged by the look on the woman questioning me. read more

I see both doctors there (husband is the eye doctor and his wife is the dentist) both of them are amazing! I was born with a bunch of eye issues that required corrective surgery during my childhood. Dr. Steinberg has always been amazing and patient. Because of him, I started seeing Dr. Villanueva Steinberg DDS for any dental needs. She's extremely professional and really goes above and beyond what I've ever seen any other dentist do. From years of smoking and not getting annual cleanings my teeth were in desperate need of some TLC. Dr. Villanueva Steinberg took the time to give them a proper full cleaning needed all while joking with me to make the visit more relaxing. I've never waited long to be seen and never had an issue getting an appointment within a week or two. Both doctors even give their patients their home number for emergencies. I've never had a doctor do that!!! I've read the other reviews on here and have NEVER had any of those problems. read more

I was diagnosed with shingles just before Christmas 2017 and was referred to Dr. Steinberg by my primary care physician. I had been seeing him every two weeks for almost the last 5 months. He had me on several different types of prescription eye drops and ointments. Only after my last appointment with Dr. Steinberg 10 days ago, did he mention possibly going longer between visits. Having been on different drops for several months and with no end of the appointments or the medications in sight, I decided to seek a second opinion. I went to another ophthalmologist earlier this afternoon and was told that both my eye pressures were low, and that he saw nothing resembling shingles. While I was happy to hear that the new doctor didn't see anything resembling shingles, I am also extremely angry. How long had I been taking these medications when they weren't necessary? Were my eye pressure readings really what I was told they were? How much money have I wasted on my HSA card through my employer on unnecessary visits and medications when I didn't need to? With the exception of the generic version of Valtrex that I was on, all of the other prescriptions cost well in excess of $100, some over $300! At one point, I was forced to choose between making my car payment or getting a ridiculously expensive medication. I refused the medication. I have zero interest in returning to him as a patient. read more

I believe that the only people who leave reviews are those who are unhappy with the service or results. So that said- I've been seeing Dr. Steinburg for several years. First of all how many surgeons don't jump to operate. Dr. Steinburg told me to wait to remove my cataracts until absolutely necessary. We waited 4 years. I could give zero stars for my experience. I ( My entire family) have been coming here for years. The staff has been good. This time, the staff has been good( they have been there for years), the new front desk lady( she may have been there last year) is abrasive. The doctor wears his face mask UNCOVERING HIS NOSE. What disgust. I was there with my little one who can't wear a mask. The staff was pretty good with their face mask which was impressive. This whole experience puts off. He was rushing the appointment and had not examined my toddler properly. I am just at a loss of words. If the office or the doctor id not ready to take up the patients they must reschedule for a later time. Everyone's time is important. I feel like I need to get a second opinion but cannot risk being exposed to COVID. The doctor should know how to follow the preventive measures. What a disappointment!! read more

Horrible front desk staff. Tried to get a billing issue resolved as they always overcharge for my visits and the woman was nasty. Dr. Steinberg should be appalled at how his patients are treated by his front desk staff. I even had the insurance company do a 3 way call and the woman was still nasty. So I was referred by my eye doctor to get a procedure done ( removing a chalazion). I completed my paperwork and am told my deductible is $115.00. I paid with no issue. I am lead room to room, finally getting ready to begin my procedure and lady tells me I need to pay another $137.00 for the procedure. So what was the $115 for? An exam that I never agreed to I was there for a procedure. I had just left my eye doctor a few hours earlier. What a joke, will be disputing with my credit card and my medical. read more

Dr. Steinberg and his staff are very friendly and courteous. They walked me through the whole LASIK procedure from start to finish. I went from wearing contacts every day for 18 years to having perfect vision due to Dr. Steinberg's expertise. I also no longer have dry eyes which I would get at night from the contacts. It's amazing to wake up every day and being able to see clearly right away. My only regret is that I didn't get LASIK sooner. read more

Bless this place. I had very severe damaged corneas, I nearly lost my vision at 17! Dr.Steinburg preformed a miracle, not gonna lie he is rude and rushes things but he has good intentions. I kept bugging him for contacts but he kept shutting me down telling me the damage the contacts can do for my already damaged cornea. These people really care for you and your health. They don't sugar coat anything they tell you the cold hard truth. read more

This is one of the reasons I would never ever recommend Dr.David A Steinberg MD.Dr Steinberg has an office in Fishkill and Poughkeepsie.Would have loved to talked directly to him before I wrote the review...but according to the rude women that was handling getting my records sent elsewhere said there was no way I could talk to the Dr. and hung up on me ...not only once but twice ...then also hug up on the nurse from the other Drs office that was trying to get my records....and said I have to send a notarized letter with 27.0o to get them in a month when I needed them now.Hopefully Dr.Steinberg will read or hear about this review and change all of those rude women in that office ....because please believe me it has been the worst experience ever.i have never written a review before but I feel so strongly about how I was treated ..that it might save someone else from going there and being treated so poorly read more

Would not recommend AT ALL. We waited in the exam room for 1/2 hour with my 1 year old son while staff continuously tried to get Dr. Steinberg into the room - they did their best to distract my son using a toy. Dr. Steinberg finally arrived & spent more time berating his staff for their distraction techniques than he did examining my son. After 2 minutes, tops, he advised us that he didn't see any vision issues & our ped was incorrect. We sought a second opinion based on his absolute inattentiveness & arrogance and sure enough, my son did have a weakness in one eye just as our ped told us. They also do not have an online payment system - they only accept checks via mail. Do yourself a favor and skip this doc. read more

Saw Dr Steinberg for inflamed eyelids. Gave me meds. He wouldn't answer my questions and rushed me in and out of his office - his bedside manner was rude and arrogant - it was a money proficient making office without any regard to his patients questions or problems Next day I called his emergent line around dinner time. My eyes were getting worse. He was nasty on the phone telling me it wasn't an emergency and that I was interrupting his family time. He's rude, arrogant and mean. Car salesmen are more sensitive than him In all my 61 years I never experienced anything like this. I have a MS in rehab. I'm trained. He's the worst. He's other reviews on other sites reflect the same Do not use this doctor. He's unprofessional. Calling my Insurance company tomorrow to complain and report. Do not use him. He is bad and his only focus is talking down to his patients while he bills away. Stay clear of this horrible place read more

They gave my sister a wrong information in her prescription, they dont want to help us to correct because they said BY LAW I am not supposed to order in other website, should be only to them. They even threaten us that they will send police to our place. Fishkill office did a horrible job. I am not asking for help, I am asking for them to correct the mistake that they did. This place was pretty bad. The lady who examined my eyes refused to move the mirror so that I could see all 5 letters. I could only see 2 letters in one eye, and 4 in the other, b/c the mirror was in the wrong position. I had to twist my body to one side, which was very painful as I have bad joints. I also had to hunch forward at one point to see the letters. She was very nasty to me during this process. She said she did not need me to see all 5 letters, and that I was twisting to one side for no reason. Then at one point she wanted me to tilt my head back, and she forgot to lock the head rest, so it fell backwards. She also touched the tips of the dilation bottles to my eyeballs, which seems very unhygienic to me. I almost walked out on her in the middle of this poor excuse for an exam. The doctor's portion of the exam was very quick, and not helpful or informative. This is the first time I've been to an ophthalmologist, but it was even more quick and cursory than an optometrist. It was a waste of time and money. Dr. Steinberg's waiting room was very crowded. The wait, once I got there, was very, very long. It seems like this doctor is overbooking, to make as much money as possible. The lady behind me in line had the same exact appointment time as I did. After the exam was over, I had to continue to wait for a very long time in order to pay the co-pay. The secretaries ignored me for ages, even though I was sitting right in front of them, waiting. Then the worker who told me to wait, had the nerve to ask me if I was waiting for a ride! She was the one who should have told the secretaries to check me out. At the end, I complained to one of them about the poor exam. I told her I am never going back there. read more
