I was seen at the appointed time. The technician, I don't recall her name, she asked a few questions and took notes, and began the preliminary procedures for the doctor. Sanitizing the equipment and wearing PPE. The opthamologist, Dr. Scheer, came into the examination room a few minutes after the technician was finished. The Dr continued with certain tests and measurements. Then went over the prognosis, suggesting corrective procedures to be done in the near future. I feel I was with the doctor, a sufficient amount of time; informed of what was to be done and a follow up appointment made next month. The office runs in a very efficient manner. They are considerate of the patient's time, informing the patient, in plain English, what the condition is, the prognosis, and treatment, if needed, The front office submits Medicare approved amounts for treatments, as well as Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Anthem medical Coverage. Some patients may have copay's depending on their plan. It's a joy, and relief to be able to see an operation that runs smoothly and efficiently.

I could only see 2 letters in one eye, and 4 in the other, b/c the mirror was in the wrong position. I had to twist my body to one side, which was very painful as I have bad joints. I also had to hunch forward at one point to see the letters. She was very nasty to me during this process. She said she did not need me to see all 5 letters, and that I was twisting to one side for no reason. Then at one point she wanted me to tilt my head back, and she forgot to lock the head rest, so it fell backwards. She also touched the tips of the dilation bottles to my eyeballs, which seems very unhygienic to me. I almost walked out on her in the middle of this poor excuse for an exam. The doctor's portion of the exam was very quick, and not helpful or informative. This is the first time I've been to an ophthalmologist, but it was even more quick and cursory than an optometrist. It was a waste of time and money. Dr. Steinberg's waiting room was very crowded. The wait, once I got there, was very, very long. It seems like this doctor is overbooking, to make as much money as possible. The lady behind me in line had the same exact appointment time as I did. After the exam was over, I had to continue to wait for a very long time in order to pay the co-pay. The secretaries ignored me for ages, even though I was sitting right in front of them, waiting. Then the worker who told me to wait, had the nerve to ask me if I was waiting for a ride! She was the one who should have told the secretaries to check me out. The best and quickest eye appointment ever!…read more I've been wearing glasses/contacts since forever and I've had different eye doctors from moving around. It's hard sometimes for them to get you the "right" prescription and even for them to just be "normal". Well. Let me tell you about my experience at the vision center. I desperately needed new contacts and new glasses since my prescription changed and it had been 2 years since I last saw the eye doctor. I tried to push it off after covid was over but I was unable to. I needed to be seen! Booking with Walmart had me a little skeptical at first especially with all going on. I decided to still give it a try and booked an appointment 2 weeks out. Upon arriving , everything's closed off and only by appointment. They immediately do a temperature check and then let you in. Only one person per household. Everything gets disinfected and everyone's wearing masks. They make you fill out a covid survey to see if you or anyone around you has had covid. After all the sanitary checks, they quickly take you to get your eyes measured in the little machine. Moments later Dr Carpenter was already seeing me. I ABSOLUTELY loved her. She was so down to earth and real. Had short conversation but cool enough to not make it awkward. The Dr had me in and out in less than 15 minutes and absolutely nailed my new eye prescription! Seriously loved this vision center, the staff and Dr Carpenter. I hope they keep their customer service and sanitizing going post covid.
