Dr. Modi Jr. is very intelligent, albeit a bit on edge, due to extreme over-booking patients. But, you can't have it both ways: they'll fit you in for an appointment, or wait a month or two to get an appointment! He fixed my detached retina and the eye healed nicely. BUT: The wait times are horrendous. While you are there for an appointment, It usually takes two and a half to three hours before you're finished. And you'll have to sit in the waiting room and watch a mindless game show. This is why I gave three stars. read more

The care I received from Dr, Satish Modi was excellent and caring. Having laser surgery, and a family history of serious eye diseases, including blindness from serious glaucoma, Dr Modi put all my fears to rest. I was worried about blindness, and Dr Modi stopped what he was doing, rolled the chair closer and said with direct clarity and confidence, that he would not let that happen. He explained my eye issues were not glaucoma, macular degeneration and with consistent follow up, he would take good care of me. I was relieved and his sincerity was so appreciated. I had laser surgery with an IOL implant and I am doing great. He set the expectations, the follow up and most importantly, my confidence level in Dr Modi is high on the scale. Can I give no stars? What a disaster this business is. It all started in Dec, when they booked my appt and then confirmed it via email and text...and then no one went to work that day and I was left waiting in their parking lot for over an hour. Dr Modi called and apologized and passed the buck to his office manager, but truly, a good business is managed from the top, and this guy needs to own his problems. My error was giving them a second chance. I went, was mildly impressed, booked surgery...only to have them call and cancel and reschedule due to Modi's schedule and then they did it AGAIN. Let's start my review with my terrible experience at TLC Laser Center in Albany and how wonderful my experience with Dr Modi and Stacey at Seeta Eye. After my bad experience with TLC trying to speak to someone at the office FOR WEEKS, how refreshing to speak to an actual person at Seeta Eye every time I call. MY first visit with Stacey was friendly and thorough. Stacey explained everything in detail and you couldn't ask for a nicer person to start your journey to better sight. Once it was determined that I was a candidate for Lasik, I meet with various staff members who took all kinds of measurements and tests for Dr Modi to review before surgery. After that, I met with Dr Modi who explained all the details and what to expect on the day of surgery. He was kind, thorough and explained all the details in terms I could understand. He also convinced me to do mono-vision and I couldn't be more grateful. On the day of surgery, Dr Modi went over everything again explaining all the steps and what I would see. Even while in surgery, he explained each step and I was even able to ask questions during surgery. The whole thing from start to finish took less than an hour. No pain!!!! I really can't believe how confident I felt with their guidance. Here it is the day after surgery and I can see way better. I am told it'll get better and better within the next few weeks and I'm so happy. I am so happy I switched from TLC to Dr Modi. I recommend Seeta Eye 1,000,000%!!!! read more

I had appointment at the Yorktown office. I never felt so welcome in a doctors office and I'm not one who commands attention. The service was literally impeccable. From the receptionis, who was a darling, to Renee ,doctors assistant. Renee went so out of her way in her professionalism. I recently had the Smile procedure with Dr. Modi and let me say that he is a top notch Physician. The procedure went extremely smoothly and quickly. Not only that, it was a hugely successful procedure. Now I can see everything perfectly, whether it is tiny print near by, or something far,far, away. Everything is wonderful now. Also every single person I meet there was very kind and professional. From Dr. Modi, to Stacy and the staff, I knew I was in good hands! Furthermore, I noticed in the waiting room a reward thing, that said Dr. Modi was chosen as the best cataract surgeon in all of the country for the year 2024. I total believe this as I saw his skills first hand in my Smile operation. In addition to curing my near sightedness, I have had very little side effects from the operation so far also. Yet the only one I am having, the slightest bit of starbursts on led light bulbs in pitch darkness, I was told will go away over time and so far I am seeing improvements regularly. I can honestly say that this smile procedure was worth every penny and greatly improved my quality of life over all. I initially came here for an emergency eye exam because I was having issues caused by my contacts. I inquired more about lasik as it became very appealing to me after having frequent issues from wearing contacts. I learned how safe and simple it is and decided to go through with it. The whole team was amazing and made me feel comfortable. The 20 minute procedure was sooo worth it for a lifetime of being able to see clearly without glasses or contacts!!! I started going to Dr. Alterman when I was a child. He still treated my grandmother until her last eye doctor visit at 96 years old. Dr. Modi is and amazing eye doctor. He operated on both of my grandmothers cataracts. As Dr. Modi got busier I started to see Dr. Wolter. He has been very helpful with explaining my cataract and letting me be the judge of when it is so bothersome that it need to be repaired. The best time for an appointment is first thing in the morning. There can sometimes be a considerable wait later in the day. I can forgive this knowing that the doctor that I am seeing my have had to treat an emergency. The office staff is great. It was sad to see the office manager leave after so many years but she has been replaced and the practice goes on. I have never had a bad experience here. Even before doctors realized that they had to give exemplary service to keep their patients. read more

Dr. Modi performed my Lasik surgery in May of 2005 after months of consultations and making sure things were "just right" although it was a long time ago, I have been very happy with the results. You'll never go to one of those eyewear chains again! Dr. Guzman is wonderful. The office was quite busy when I was there for my most recent appointment, and it seems the staff were a bit overwhelmed. Rather than making me wait for a technician to perform the initial, routine 'check-in' portion of the exam, Dr. Guzman retrieved me from the waiting room himself, and the personally performed the routine tests that usually would have been completed by a technician. In addition, despite the fact that the office was exceptionally busy, I did not feel rushed; in fact, I felt Dr. Guzman was very generous with his time and made sure I was completely satisfied. He addressed all of my concerns, and he even gave me a trial pair of contact lenses free of charge so that I could wear them for several days to be sure they were comfortable before he wrote the new prescription. You certainly won't find service like that at one of the optical superstores! Once you have a prescription, you will need to find an Optician to actually make your new glasses - see my review of Optique Elegance, which is just a few blocks away, if you need one nearby. It's not as convenient as 'one stop shopping', true. But the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience! read more

If you are contemplating having LASIK done, look no further, this is THE place to go. After considering getting the LASIK correction done for many years but not really trusting anyone with my eyes, I went to see dr. I had three different lasik consultations booked and seeta was first on my list. After my first consultation I cancelled the other two appointments because I knew seeta was right for me. Dr. Satish Modi did not spend adequate amount of time with me. All he said I have cataract, lens get foggy, and gave me bunch of papers to read. I wanted to discuss what could I do in my daily life to avoid cataract surgery. Also,I asked for a new prescription for my glasses. He said that will not help my vision. In fact my current pair of glasses is more than 4 yrs. old and I have not had any vision issue for many yrs. During past many yrs. my Ophthalmologists had always given me new eye glass prescriptions, about every 2-3 yrs. interval. Upon my request only, he gave me a prescription for reading glasses only. In my opinion, Dr. Modi did not show his willingness to spend a little more time with me by saying "Do you have any other questions?" I did not get good quality services from Dr. Modi. It is frustrationg not be able to know expected quality of services from doctors before we have to go see one and pay for their less than average quality of services. read more

Great and ethical medical practice. I needed my eyes checked to see if I needed increased "power" for my glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Modi and his well experienced staff performed a battery of tests using what appeared to be the most modern equipment and unfortunately although my eyesight got worse, the amount of medical service I received in comparison to the nominal bill that came in the mail a few weeks later has made me a permanent patient here. read more

Two hour wait to see Dr.Walter who saw me for just 2 mins. He was very condescending and almost mocking. I had a concern about an issue in my eye and he looked at me like I was crazy. At first , I was so confused, I did not know if he was joking or being serious. Really awful waste of time with EXTORTION like practices. My first ever LASIK experience was unfortunately a complete waste of time dealing with unprofessional discourteous financial enforcers (stacey) and Doctors that operate in a turn-style like cash grab (Dr. Modi). After 2 months of waiting for my doctor consultation with Dr. Modi at the SEETA center and after courteously accepting changing the time of said appointment to the day BEFORE my surgery i was informed that after 2 months of waiting i was required to come up with $1000 the next day followed by $1000 a week payments or they would be unable to perform the surgery. This was after I was told that I would be receiving a no interest monthly payment plan. When confronted about the fact that Stacey didn't properly do her job and properly inform me of the situations she resulted to mocking my mothers inability to financially provide for said surgery. Dr. Modi had no interest in hearing from a patient that spent 2 months of his summer, awaiting surgery and took a week off of work to perform said surgery that I was completely mislead about. We had both the means and ability to pay for the appointment cash out of pocket prior to surgery, however, Dr. Modi's complete disregard to the string of repeated problems, and poor attitude towards me, means we walked out and will be giving someone else our money. Someone who can be trusted with the well being of a patient - start to finish . Don't waste your time or money with this place. read more

I had cataract surgery by Dr Modi in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. while in pre-op I received anesthetic eye drops twice, but they had over booked and I sat there for an hour after the last drops were given. I did not realize that they wore off. They gave me Versa. When I had the laser done it hurt bad and I told the doctor. Then when we went to another room he cleaned my eye and got soap in it giving horrible pain I told him and he put in a speculum which and I was in agony he then reapplied anesthetic drops that did not take affect and they gave me 50mcg fentanyl twice too. I could feel eveything as he dug under my eye and he ordered the tech to hold down my head. The next day I told him and he said I would get over it. He did not apologize and he was smug. I did have good visual results. I don't want to sue I am a registered nurse, but I don't want others to suffer the agony like me. If you use Dr Modi just make sure you anestestic eyes havent woren off. Good luck read more
