Came to Prato 850 on Monday night! Just moved to the area and I saw this place while driving on Jericho turnpike because it has cute string lights outside and a side patio. Decided to check out their menu and reviews and made the decision to check it out. As you walk in, you're greeted by friendly hostesses and the smell of a wood fire oven. The bar is long the side and pretty big! We sat at a table near the back and had a really friendly, knowledgeable waiter named Joe D. He told us about how the restaurant got its name and the different handmade items on the menu. We started with a choice of wings, which are cooked in their 850 degree oven and zucchini flowers as well. I had the burrato Prato pizza and my husband had the zucchini pasta with chicken (trying to be a bit healthier). Both were really good! Ever since Prato 850 opened my family would go routinely as we really enjoyed their food, after COVID hit we began doing take out. Every order there is always something wrong or missing. I understand mistakes happen but this is repeated behavior at this point. On our last order we ordered the burrata sandwich... what was missing from the sandwich- burrata. It was just steak between bread and was obvious there was no cheese. I do not recommend taking out from this restaurant, just dine in. read more

Tried Prato 850 for happy hour and it was one of the best we've been to! Joe, the bartender, and part owner was the best! He was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent too. We ordered a Mediterranean platter that was overflowing with great veggies and dips. Then we tried one of the thin crust pizzas- also great! And I can't forget the huge bar pretzel with mustard. We're looking forward to going back on Friday, and in the warmer weather when we can sit outside. read more

As a new local place with good reviews, I was excited to try this place out. Initially came here for dinner and drinks on a Friday night. It was crowded but there were plenty of open tables. So we were kind of surprised when we had to wait for a table. While we waited I got a happy hour wine and my friend got a pumpkin beer which they served in a rocks glass. The happy hour wine was $5 and the beer was $9. It was weird that the beer wasn't served in a pint glass or Duvel beer type glass but instead in a small rocks glass. We were so surprised that we asked the bartender why she put the beer in such a small glass- she said the alcohol content was higher and didn't say much more about it. I can understand if my friend got a specialty drink or something but a local pumpkin beer? I really think they just ran out of glasses. As we waited for our table it looked like a lot of people were sitting around at tables and not eating. Saw some food coming out and it didn't look too exciting. Based on the Yelp reviews the food is amazing... it didn't look amazing. I kind of expected to be wowed by the dishes. The pizza looked average, salads looked nice but typical. We were kind of put off by the beer in the rocks glass thing and the lack of food at the tables so we decided not to stay for dinner. We figured we would be waiting around too long for food. While we were leaving we noticed a whole back area with more tables that were mostly empty. Neither of us could figure out why we weren't seated right away in the first place. They did also have live music outside which was very nice and was definitely a perk. The place had a nice vibe and I like the way it was decorated. The outdoor space was cool as well. Great all around. I was surprised by how good the drinks are here, no skimping around! Really make a great Manhattan, reminded me of being in the city. Their charcuterie board is massive and full of an array of choices, it's one of the better ones I've had on the island. Went to Prato for a friends birthday with 12 people. We sat in the outdoor patio. It's advertised as an "enclosed and heated patio" but they refused to keep the walls down. The service was horrendous. Half the table waited over 25 minutes for their first drink. Half of the food we ordered did not come out. We were also waiting 30 minutes just for the check, we almost dined and dashed! They also sang to my friend and brought her dessert after the appetizers..... who does that. We left after waiting too long for service. Tried calling ahead twice. No one picked up. They asked if we had a reservation. We said "no", so they said they could seat us outside. None of the many heaters they had outside were working, so we were cold. We were given one menu and no drink menu. Two waitresses passed us without taking our order. We were seated uncomfortably close to a couple at the outside bar and we decided to bail after 15 minutes of no service. Horrible!! I can only base my experience on the service we did NOT RECEIVE. This past Saturday decided to try out this spot based on the reviews. We got there around 4pm. We were sat down out side rather quickly and that's were it ended. We were seat on the outdoor area and watched the wait staff help other patrons and no one ever approached us. No eye contact made with us. Nor did anyone come to see if we needed any thing. We sat there for about 20 mins and left. Highly disappointed. We just today took advantage of their Thanksgiving take out special. It was amazing, the Turkey was perfect and the dressing is sausage, yum! Everything was perfection and they did a great job bringing everything out. Kudos to the chef. Can't wait until this is over and we can return for a meal in the dining room. I'm so sad to say that the service in this restaurant is horrible. The hostess was very nice and went out of her way to find us a seat outside. So we assumed that everything was going to go great, our hostess was super nice and quick to take drink orders. Delivered them right away, we ordered appetizers and our entrees. This is went wrong. Our appetizers took over 45 minutes. I saw a server come out with what we ordered but went to the wrong table and went back into the kitchen. Our server finally came around and noticed we didn't have any food and went to the kitchen and informed us the manager was taking care of our food. When our appetizers came out the pretzel was so stale and cold in the middle, wings were ok. We then got our entrees. The margarita pizza was lacking any flavor. My husband and daughter liked the hot chicken sandwich and burger. Then we finally flag down the waitress for our check she brings it out an processes it then instead of giving it to us. She declined the larger party was more important and handed them to go boxes, etc. It takes a second to just hand us the processed bill and my card back. I had to get up for her to understand it's time for us to go. Listen I get you are going for the bigger tip. But I think people should remember you don't know who will give that to you. Maybe a table of 4 isn't your cup of tea. But don't disrespect us because we didn't bring 6 more people. During this pandemic I have been trying to spread the wealth to several businesses and always trying to take care of our restaurant workers with a generous tip to do my appreciation. But please teach your staff to treat all tables equally. It's a shame. Hopefully you will learn customer service is key. Be prepared to spend the whole day here. We were told 30 minute wait. Then turned into another "few minutes". An hour later, still waiting. We had one guy come up to us and ask us for our name and he would check on our table. He never returned, but we did see him bringing desserts out to tables, while we were still waiting. I tried to be an understanding customer since they were very busy last night but after getting our order wrong twice and waiting forever to get my drink I don't think I will be coming back. They definitely need to hire more staff because last night looked like a mess. The drinks were horrible and super watery after waiting 20 min for them. Tried Prato for the first time on a friend lunch date. The place had a nice atmosphere. We were seated immediately and the waitress was nice. She wasnt the greatest and a little slow but very nice. The manager came over multiple times to check on us and he offered recommendations and even helped take orders. I thought that was great, working in the restaurant industry you rarely see a manager that involved. I'm confident if I had any issues or disappointments he wouldve been accommodating. My daughter picked this restaurant to go out with our family specifically because it advertised with a gluten free menu - we went there she ordered a appetizer off the gluten free menu and when it came she just wanted to confirm that it was made separate from all other gluten dishes BUT her instincts where correct it was made where other gluten products were cooked on!! my daughter is not going through a fad she has autoimmune disease "Celiac" and this could of ended bad if she didn't go with her gut feeling - so false advertising and uneducated about gluten free products and how it should be prepared ! read more

Phenomenal!! This place deserves more than 5 stars! For starters, they followed great COVID protocols. Tables were distant, staff wore masks and sanitizer was found throughout the restaurant. Drinks were great. I had a frozen drink special, the drink was sweet and strong- a great combo! They had a bunch of apps, we decided on the wings. The BBQ was so tasty! I had the Burrata pizza and WOW! The pizza was a personal size, but was a deep dish crust. Stuffed with Burrata and mozzarella, with more Burrata on top! It was delicious. On top of all of this, their menu was so creative with so many different choices it was hard to decide what to get. I was so full, but still had to try desserts! Our table ordered the doughnuts which were like mini Zeppoles, with dipping sauce. My favorite was the cannoli cream! We also had the rainbow cookie cake. On top of all of these great things, the staff was excellent! We were seated outside and our server told us it would rain and asked if we wanted to move to sit indoors! This was so kind of her. My wife and I dined at Prato 850 last night and were excited to try out the half-off wing night, "Wing Down Wednesday," as we have enjoyed the Pineapple Bluefalo wings on two previous occasions. When we attempted to place three orders of 8 wings (peri-peri rub boneless, tuscan garlic parm regular, and honey sriracha cauliflower), we were informed that we MUST order a full-price starter or main. Nowhere on any menu, website, or social media have we seen this stated! Our waiter was kind enough to go ask the manager if he could make an exception, but was rejected. Despite our disappointment, we altered our order, swapping an order of wings for the Thai Calamari starter. The two orders of wings arrived on one plate. Unfortunately the peri peri rub boneless wings wound up coming out as the regular wings and were over-charred; the tuscan garlic parm regular wings came out as boneless and were under-seasoned. The Thai Calamari that we ordered came out as the Calamari Trio. Fortunately, a manager passed by and asked how everything was. When we told him about the calamari, he was kind enough to replace it promptly and leave the trio out for us to snack on. The Thai Calamari was saucy, crispy, and delicious! We will return for the Pineapple Bluefalo wings, Thai Calamari, and look forward to trying other items on the menu. Our biggest gripe is that apparently one cannot dine for "Wing Down Wednesday," and solely order wings. If you must order a full-price starter or main in addition to wings, this should be clearly stated on the menu and/or in promotional materials. read more
